e

It is recorded in Zayn-ul Muttaqeen that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) said. “He who recites the following Dua’a after Morning Prayer, will get the heavenly reward of performing a thousand  Haj (pilgrimage to Mecca), of thousand Shabe Barrat (15th Night of the month of Shaban) of performing funeral prayers on a thousand martyrs.”

The Angel Gibraeel descended and said. “O’ Mohammad (s.a.w.s.)  I have brought good news for you and such news I have brought for no other prophet. It is, whoever of your Ummat recites the following Dua’a once after Morning Prayer, or keeps it on his person. Allah  the Al-Mighty declares on oath that He will grant the reciter the following benefits”:

1. Protection from death by an accident
 2. Security from the questioning of Nakeer and Munkar in the grave.
 3. Relief from the darkness and narrowness of the grave.
 4. Closing down on Him the doors of Hell.
 5. Grant Him His protection from disease.
 6. Keeping opens for him all the eight entrances to paradise.
 7. Grant him His protection against the wrath of the rulers.

Alms-giving in the way of God will help repay debts and leave blessings behind.....

Mar 11, '13 1:29 PM
for everyone

“Alms-giving in the way of God will help repay debts and leave blessings behind.”
The Imam further said:
“Whenever you become destitute, do business with God through alms-giving.”

 Imam Baqer (AS) has said:

“Surely alms-giving repels seventy afflictions of the world including a bad death.
Surely an alms-giver never dies a bad death.”
It is related that one day Jesus (AS) and his disciples were sitting together when a man passed by them.  Jesus (AS) said to his disciples:
“This man will die soon.  After the passage of some time, they noticed that the man passed by them while he was carrying a load of wood.  The disciples asked: O spirit of God! you said he would die soon where as he is still living.  Jesus said to that man: Put down your load of wood.  He did so and opened it.  They immediately saw that a big black snake with a stone in its mouth was among the wood.  Jesus said to that man: What have you done today?  He said: O spirit of Allah, I had two loaves of bread.  I met a beggar.  I gave one of them to him (wee it not for his charity, that black snake would bite and kill the man).

Imam Sadeq (AS) said:
    *
“Every person who gives alms, God will give a better recompense to his children after his death.”
On verse 36 of the Quranic Chapter Hajj “...and feed the poor man who is contented and beggar...
Imam Sadeq (AS) has been quoted as saying:

“The poor man who is contented is one who asks for something and beggar is your friend.”
Imam Sadeq (AS) was in Mena where a poor man came to him.  The Imam ordered a bunch of grapes to be given to him.  The poor man said:  I do not need it.  I need money.  The Imam said: My God increase your sustenance?  That man went on his way empty-handed.  Then another poor man came along and the Imam gave him three single grapes.  The poor man took those three single grapes saying:

“praise is due to the Lord of the worlds”  who gave my sustenance.  The Imam who saw this scene said to him:  Wait.  The Imam said to his servant: how many Dirhams are on you?  He said: About twenty Dirhams.  The Imam said: Give all Dirhams to him.  The poor man took all Dirhams and said: praise is due to Allah the Lord of the worlds.  O God! This bounty comes from you.  You are One and have no partner.
The

Imam further said: Wait.
Then he took off the shirt he was wearing and said: Put it on.  That man put on the shirt and said; Praise is due to Allah, that gave a shirt and made me happy.  O servant of God! May God reward you.  With these words he said good bye and went away.

The narrator says: we were saying to ourselves: Had he not said good bye, the Imam would have kept on giving away, for every time the poor man said praise is due to Allah, the Imam would give him something.

Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh): O Allah (SWT) hide my sins..!

Mar 11, '13 1:17 PM
for everyone

It was narrated that in the days that Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh)
wandered with Bani Israel (Children of Israel) in the desert, an
intense drought befell them. Together, they raised their hands towards the heavens praying for the blessed rain to come. Then, to the astonishment of Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) and all those watching, the few scattered clouds that were in the sky vanished, the heat poured down, and the drought intensified.

It was revealed to Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) that there was a
sinner amongst the tribe of Bani Israel (Children of Israel) who had
disobeyed Allah (SWT) for more than forty years of his life.
"Let him separate himself from the congregation," Allah (SWT) told Prophet Mu
sa / Moses (pbuh). "Only then shall I shower you all with rain."

Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) then called out to the throngs of
humanity, "There is a person amongst us who has disobeyed Allah (SWT) for forty years. Let him separate himself from the congregation and only then shall we be rescued from the drought."

That man waited, looking left and right, hoping that someone else
would step forward, but no one did. Sweat poured forth from his brow and he knew that he was the one. The man knew that if he stayed amongst the congregation all would die of thirst and that if he stepped forward he would be humiliated for all eternity.

He raised his hands with a sincerity he had never known before, with humility he had never tasted, and as tears poured down on both cheeks he said, "O Allah, have mercy on me! O Allah, hide my sins! O Allah, forgive me!"

As Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) and the people of Bani Israel
(Children of Israel) waited for the sinner to step forward, the clouds hugged the sky and the rain poured. Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh) asked Allah (SWT), "O Allah, you blessed us with rain even though the sinner did not come forward."

And Allah (SWT) replied, "O Musa, it is for the repentance of that
very person that I blessed all of Bani Israel (Children of Israel) with water."

Prophet Musa / Moses (pbuh), wanting to know who this blessed man was,
asked, "Show him to me O Allah!"

Allah (SWT) replied, "O Musa, I hid his sins for forty years,
do you think that after his repentance I shall expose him?"

The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alaihi wa aalehe wasallam) said: "My entire nation is safe, except al-Mujahirin (those who boast of their sins). Among the Mujaharah is that a man commits an (evil) act, and wakes up in the morning while Allah has kept his (sin) a secret, he says: 'O Fulan! Last night I did this and that.' He goes to sleep while. Allah has kept his (sin) a secret but he wakes up in the morning and uncovers what Allah has kept a secret!"
O my Allah, the honour of being Your servant is sufficient.
I am proud of the fact that You are my Lord.
You are just as I want, so make me just as You like me to be.

WHAT IS THE MINIMUM NEGLIGENCE WHICH WOULD TURN A MOMIN TO KAFIR?................

The narrator says I was in Amir-ul-Momaneenasws‘s company when a man came and asked: Ya Amir-ul-Momaneenasws what is the minimum negligence, which would turn a momin into a Kafir or lead him to destruction?

Amir-ul-Momaneenasws replied it’s the same bare minimum which one would require to become a momin:  Allahazwj ’s recognition with knowledge (Marfat) and then submission to Himazwj, obedience to Rasool Allahsaww after Prophetsaww’s appreciation with understanding and acquiring ‘Marfat’ of Hisazwj ‘Hujjat’ (Divine representative) on face of the earth, who is Hisazwj ‘Witness’ on His creation and follow himasws deferentially.

Will he still be a momin if he is ignorant of all these essential knowledge?
Amir-ul-Momaneenasws replied, only if he carries out what Imamasws has commanded and refrains from what Imamasws has forbidden. However, the minimum what would make a person Kafir is to deem permissible from Allahazwj which, in fact, has been forbidden by Almightyazwj and start practicing it as a religion and perceive as he is worshiping as per Allahazwj’s commands.  But in fact he worships Iblisla.
The slightest deviation which leads to destruction in deen is to remain ignorant about Allahazwj’s ‘Hujjat’, who is His observer on people and who’s obedience has been made mandatory and whose ‘Wiliat’ has been made compulsory. (Usool-e-Kafi, vol. 5, Tradition 1, pp. 11)

Paradise has 8 gates. On each gate there are 4 words..............

Mar 9, '13 11:32 AM
for everyone

The Apostle of Allah said (s):

“When I was led in ascension into heaven, Gabriel (A) said to me: Paradise and Hell have been commanded to come before you. He (the Prophet (S)) said: I saw Paradise and what it contains from blessings and I saw Hell and what it consists from torment.

Paradise has 8 gates. On each gate there are 4 words. Each word is worth more than this world and what is therein, only for those who appreciate (their meaning) and puts them into practice. While Hell has 7 gates, on each gate there are 3 words. Each word is worth more than this world and what is therein, only for those who appreciate (their meaning) and puts them into practice.

Gabriel (A) said to me: O Muhammad read what is written on the gates, I thus read.

As for the gates of Paradise, it is written on the first of its gates:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. For everything there is a trick, and life’s trick consists of four qualities: To have contentment, to sacrifice for the truth, to refrain from malice and to be in the company of virtuous people.

On the second gate, it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. For everything there is a trick, and the trick for happiness consists of four qualities: To wipe over the head of orphans, to show affection towards the widows, to strive in fulfilling the needs of believers, and to check on the poor and the needy.

On the third gate it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. For everything there is a trick, and the trick for good health in this world consists of four qualities: to speak little, sleep little, walk little and eat little.

On the fourth gate it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day be hospitable towards his guest. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day, be generous towards his neighbor. Let him who believes in Allah and the last Day, be kind towards his parents. Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day, either speak good or remain silent.

On the fifth gate it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. Let him who does not want to be oppressed, not oppress others. Let him who does not wish to be slandered, not slander others. Let him who does not want to be humiliated, not humiliate others and let him who wishes to hold fast to the most trustworthy handhold that never breaks, in this world and the Hereafter, say: There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah.

On the sixth gate it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. Let him who wishes to have his grave wide and broad, build mosques. Let him who does not wish to be eaten by earth worms attend the mosques. Let him who wants his body to remain soft, tender and never be decomposed, sweep the (floors) of the mosques and let him who wants to witness his place in Paradise, cover the (floors) of mosques with rugs.

On the seventh gate it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah. The purity of the heart is found in four qualities: In visiting the sick, participating in funerals, in purchasing shrouds and repaying loans.

On the eighth gate it is written:

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. Ali is the friend of Allah: Let him who wishes to enter from these gates, hold fast to four qualities: generosity, good manners, charity and abstention from harming the servants of Allah.

Reciting the Holy Qur’an

Mar 9, '13 11:25 AM
for everyone

Recitation of the Holy Qur’an has many benefits. The following Hadith illustrate some of these benefits:

•  Illuminate your homes by reciting the Holy Qur’an for if the Holy Qur’an is recited frequently in a house, it brings blessings for the family, and the house will give light to those in Heaven as the stars of Heaven give light to those on the earth. Holy Prophet (PBUH).
•  The heart gathers rust like iron. Remove this rust by the recitation of the Qur’an. Holy Prophet (PBUH).
•  Whoever derives pleasure from the recitation of Qur’an, will not be depressed by the departure of friends. Imam Ali (A.S).

How to recite the Qur’an

1. Do wudhu before reciting. It is forbidden to touch the writings of Qur’an without wudhu. Even when not touching the writings, it is recommended to do wudhu before reciting the Qur’an.
2. Seek protection of Allah from the Shaytan.
3. Recite with a beautiful voice. The Holy Qur’an should be read slowly, with a beautiful voice and consideration for the rules of recitation. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) says: Give beauty to the Qur’an with your voices. And when he was asked as to who had the best voice for recitation, he said: The person who, when you listen to him, you realize that he fears Allah. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) has also said: Everything has a decoration, and the decoration for the Qur’an is a beautiful voice.
4. Interact with the Qur’an. Another important point to remember is to interact with the Qur’an when reciting it. When reading verses which promise blessings and reward for the believers, one should be excited and hopeful. But on reading descriptions of punishments meted out to those who disbelieved and displeased Allah, a believer is fearful and seeks refuge in Allah.
Understanding the Holy Qur’an

It is important that believers try to understand what Allah has revealed in the Holy Qur’an. It is a book of guidance, and to derive and act upon this guidance, we need to read and understand its verses. The fourth Imam (A.S) says:
•  The Qur’anic verses are treasures of Knowledge and whenever a treasure is opened, you have to see what lies therein.
•  Ponder over the verses of the Qur’an, and learn from them, for they are the best of lessons.

Understanding the Qur’an could be done through reading the translation, thinking about the words used in the verse, the causes of revelation, and reading and discussing the commentary provided by knowledgeable scholars.

Understanding and pondering over the verses of the Holy Qur’an is an important duty of all Muslims. Allah talks to us through the Qur’an, and we need to read and understand what He says in it.

Many Muslims believe that understanding the Qur’an is the duty of scholars, and they are content to just recite the verses without giving them much thought.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) will complain about such Muslims on the Day of Judgment. The Qur’an says he will say: O my Lord! My people took the Qur’an very lightly. By studying and pondering over the verses of the Qur’an, we will not be among the group the Prophet (PBUH) will complain about on the Day of Judgment.

Prayers are the most comprehensive forms of worshipping.

Mar 9, '13 11:21 AM
for everyone

The Prophet (SAW)said: "On the night of Ascension I saw 70,000 cities like those of yours wherein angels had been worshipping God saying: `May God, the Almighty send His blessings unto those who attend the Friday prayers."

Prayers are the most comprehensive forms of worshipping.

Imam Mahdi (AS) said to Zuhri twice: "Those who delay the performance of morning prayers until the setting of stars and of the evening prayers until the appearance of stars -- are out of Allah's blessings."

The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: "After their death, those who have not performed their prayers would beseech God to allow them to return to this world to make up for what they have neglected. (But) God, the Almighty will not do so because He knows well that they will not stand by their words."

The Holy Prophet of Islam (SAW) says that there are secrets about paying Zakat (poor-rate) which also exist in prayers:

a) Zakat is a financial gift to the poor and in prayers one pray for the poor as well as the Muslim Ummah.
b) By paying Zakat, one's wealth becomes pure and by worshipping God, one's heart is cleansed of sins.
c) Zakat means thanking Allah and by the performance of prayers one thanks Him in his heart for his mental and physical health.
d) Zakat is the destroyer of financial meanness and prayer is the destroyer of one's arrogance.
e) Zakat protects one's wealth and worship protects one's deeds against evil-doings. Zakat is a stock for the poor and prayers are a stock for the pious.
f) He who pays Zakat wishes abundance in his wealth and he who worships wishes to be rewarded.

As long as one is praying, angels pray for him saying, "O Lord! Send your blessings unto him."

Anas Ibn Malik said that the Prophet (SAW) never allowed his prayers to be delayed, even when he was traveling.

One dayAbdullah Ibn Masoudattended the congregation prayer led by the Holy Prophet (SAW), but he was late. He freed a slave to compensate for having lost the virtue of attending the congregation in time.

He asked the Prophet (SAW) if Allah had forgiven him.The Prophet (SAW)said that if he would spent all his wealth, he will never be given back the spiritual reward he had missed.

The Prayers of the followings are not accepted:

1- Those who are indifferent to others.
Imam Sadiq (AS) says: "The prayers of those who are indifferent to the destitute and the homeless will not be accepted."
2- Usurers
The Prophet (SAW) says: "The prayers of usurers are like building a house on sandy ground."
3- Irresponsible People
The Prophet (SAW) says: "The prayers of those women who benefit from their husbands' income, but do not show a sense of responsibility to do their duties - are not accepted by God."
4- Those who evade paying Zakat
The Qur'an places great emphasis on the observance of prayers as well as paying Zakat. God does not accept the prayers of those who do not pay Zakat.
