Honesty will guide you to goodness, and goodness will invite you to Heaven......

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "God the Almighty never appointed any Prophets who were not honest and trustworthy to good-doers and evil-doers."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Whoever is honest is a good-doer."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "A note was found in the sheath of the Prophet's sword that said: "Make ties with those who have cut off their ties with you, grant to those who have deprived you. Speak the truth even if it is against your interests."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "One will tell the truth so much that he will be included among the honest people near God, and will lie so much that he will be included among the liars near God. Whenever one tells the truth, God says: He told the truth, he did a good thing. When he tells a lie, God says: He lied, and did a wicked act."

Imam Ali (a.s) said: "Honesty will guide you to goodness, and goodness will invite you to Heaven. As long as you tell the truth, no lies will be left in your heart and you will be known as an honest person near God."

Imam Ali (a.s) said: "Being honest is a part of faith, and one who is honest will not even say useful elies, and will not say anything beyond his knowledge."

Imam Ali (a.s) said in a part of a long sermon: "O' People! Try to be honest because God is the helper of the honest people. Avoid telling lies since it will ruin your faith. Know that honest people are on the verge of nobility and honor, while liars are on the verge of collapse and destruction."

THERE ARE FOUR THING THAT PERFECT YOUR ISLAM AND CLEANSE YOUR SINS...

Imam Sajjad (a.s) said: "There are four things that perfect your Islam and cleanse your sins, and enable you to meet the Lord pleased with you in the Hereafter:
1- Fulfilling all your promises to the people,
2- Honesty with the people,
3- Being ashamed of whatever is shameful near God and the people.
4- Being good-tempered with the family."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Invite the people to do good deeds by acting, not just words, so that people see your efforts in the way of worshipping, piety and honesty."

Imam Baqir (a.s) told Raebih: "Men will tell the truth so much that they reach the rank of the honest ones near God."

Imam Reza (a.s) said: "We are a family who consider our promises as debts just as the Prophet of God (a.s) did."

The Prophet (a.s) said: "(On the Resurrection Day) those of you who are the most honest, most trustworthy, the ones with the best temper and the ones closest to the people will be closest to me and will deserve my intercession the most."

Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: "Nothing but the tongue deserves more to be locked up for a long time."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "You are considered to be a good-doer as long as you are quiet, but as soon as you start to talk, you will be recorded as a good-doer or a wicked person."

Imam Sajjad (a.s) said: "The rights of the tongue include forbidding it from swearing, and vain talk and fostering proper talking and kindness to the people."

God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Have six traits and I will guarantee Heaven for you:
1- Do not lie when you quote someone,
2- Do not violate your promises.
3- Do not cheat in what you are entrusted with.
4- Do not look at what is forbidden to see.
5- Guard your chastity,
6- Watch what you do and say."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Be a source of honor and respect for us, not a means of disgust. Talk nicely with the people. Watch your tongue, and do not boast or swear."

If you watch your tongue, God will cover up your faults........

God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Whoever stays quiet will be saved."

God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Calamities depend upon what we say."

God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Most of man's mistakes are due to what he says. If you watch your tongue, God will cover up your faults."

God's Prophet (a.s) said: "If someone gossips about a believer regarding what is true, God will not reunite him with that believer in the Hereafter. If someone gossips about a believer regarding what is false, the ties between them will be cut off and he will reside in Hell forever. What a terrible penalty!"
Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: "Whoever gossips -which is like eating the flesh of the people- is a liar if he says he is legitimately born. Abstain from gossiping since it is good food for the dogs in the Fire (of Hell)."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Divulging the faults of other believers which God has hidden is a form of gossiping. Claiming what is not true about your believing brothers is a form of accusation."

Imam Baqir (a.s) said: "How bad is a hypocrite with two faces and two tongues. He admires his brother in his presence, but gossips about him in his absence. He will envy his brothers if they get rich, and will not help them if they get in trouble."

"Peace is better; but men are prone to avarice". (Surah al‑Nisa, 4:128). Feb 19, '13 1:01 PM for everyone "Peace is better; but men are prone to avarice". (Surah al‑Nisa, 4:128). Generally speaking, all men by nature prefer peace. That is why all social systems, including those, which base their philosophy on contradiction and conflict, try to promise undisturbed peace to the world in the long run. The Qur'an strongly denounces every war which is not necessary for the defence of the cause of Allah and rescuing the people from the clutches of the devils. "Believers, enter all of you into peace and do not follow, in the footsteps of Satan. No doubt he is an open enemy of you". (Surah al‑Baqarah, 2:208). Islam not only wants the internal relations of the Muslims to be peaceful, but it also gives similar instructions in regard to their relations with the non‑Muslims. "If they incline to peace, incline you also to it and put your trust in Allah. No doubt He is All‑hearing, All knowing". (Surah al‑Anfal, 8:61). But care should be taken that the leaning of the enemy toward peace may not be a military or political ruse and a mere hoax. "But if they intend to deceive you, Allah is sufficient for you. It is He who has supported you with His help and with the believers". (Surah al‑Anfal, 8:62).

The Evil Effects of Adultery in this World and the Hereafter

Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) says:-
"Fornication has six types of effects. Three are for this world and three for the Hereafter.
The three evils which become evident in this world are:-
1. The face of the adulterer loses countenance.
2. He falls into depravity and destitution.
3. His death draws near.

And the three punishments for Hereafter are:
1. He is liable for Divine anger.
2. His reckoning is severe.
3. He abides forever in Hell.

Fornicator in the Barzakh

The fifth Imam (a.s.) has also said,
"Whoever commits Fornication with a Muslim, Jew, Christian or Magian woman, whether she is a slave or a free woman; and dies without repenting of his sin, then the Almighty Allah opens three hundred doors of punishment in his grave. From each door many snakes, scorpions and pythons emerge from the fire and burn and torment him till the Day of Qiyamat."

Fornicator on the Day of Judgement

Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) describes the fornicator in detail and says that when he would be raised from his grave on the Day of Judgement he shall be in a horrible state.

The Imam says, "When a fornicator will rise from his grave the stink of his body shall hurt the people. The people will know what deeds he had committed in the world. Till the Almighty Allah would order him to be thrown into the fire."

Then Imam Baqir (a.s.) continues, "Know that Allah has prohibited Himself the haraam things. He has also prescribed the rules and regulations of life. No one is more modest than Allah. It is His modesty that He has prohibited Fornication."

Abu Basir says that Umme Khalid Abadiya presented herself before Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (a.s.) when Abu Basir was also present. Umme Khalid said; "May I be sacrificed for you, on the day of Qiyamat I will tell Allah that I have done as commanded by Jafar ibn Muhammad (a.s.). Physicians have told me to knead the flour with grape wine and eat the bread. This will cure the terrible pain of my heart. I ask you, shall I do this ?"

Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (a.s.) replied to Umme Khalid; "No ! By Allah I will not permit you even a drop of wine. Don't taste even a drop of it. Otherwise when your soul reaches here (Imam pointed towards his throat) you will only regret."

Then Imam (a.s.) asked Umme Khalid thrice.
"Have you understood ?" "Yes", replied Umme Khalid.

A student of Fuzail Ibne Ayaz was on the death-bed. Fuzail came to him, and sitting near his head began to recite Surah Yasin. The disciple told his teacher, "Do not recite the Quran!" Fuzail became silent. Then he began to urge his disciple to repeat "La ilaha illallah". The student said: "I will not repeat this formula because I am disgusted with it !" And he died in the same condition.
Fuzail Ibne Ayaz was extremely perturbed. He returned home after completing his duties and went to sleep. He saw his student undergoing punishment. He asked him, "What is the reason of your being deprived of faith (Imaan) at the time of your death? You were one of my best students."
The student replied: "There are three reasons, firstly, I used to backbite too much, secondly, I used to be jealous, thirdly, a physician had prescribed for my malady a cup of wine every year. He told me that if I do not drink, the disease will never be cured. Every year I drank one cup of wine."

Paradise is at the feet of your mother.

It is reported that a young man approached the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and asked, "O Prophet of Allah (s.a.w.s.), I have a mother who is an invalid. She cannot even move by herself. I carry her on my back and feed her with my hands. I also clean her excreta. Have I fulfilled her rights?". The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) replied, "No. Because you have remained in the womb for a long period during which you derived your nourishment from her body. She was every busy in caring and protecting you at all costs. Inspite of such hardships she always wished a long life for you. But you are waiting for her to die so that you may relieved of the responsibility of taking care of her."
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) described the eminence of a mother's position in the following statement:
1. "If you are praying a mustahab prayer and your father calls you, do not break your prayer but if your mother calls, break the prayer." Truly, this assigns a remarkably high status to a mother.

The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) states, "Paradise is at the feet of your mother." Hence one need not go far in search of Paradise.
