HADEES

A man once asked the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.):

"What people does Allah love most?". He said, "They are the most useful ones to people."

It is also narrated from the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) that he said:

All mankind belong to Allah, therefore the most favored by Allah is the one who is good to his or her own family"

It is also narrated that the Messenger (s.a.w.) said:

"Whoever guides (others) towards good is like the one who does it."

It is also narrated that:

"The doer of good is better than good itself and the evil-doer is worse than evil itself"

It is also narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w.) said:

"Do not do anything of good so as to be seen by people, nor give it up because of shyness"

It is narrated from Imam Ali ibn Abi-Talib (a.s.) that he said:

"Speak much of good in order to be known by it and do good to be identified with its followers."

AS-SAMAD - IS THAT WHICH HAS NO DEFICIENCIES

- My father - Allah have mercy on him - narrated to us, he said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us, he said: Muhammad b. `Isa narrated to us, from Younis b. `AbderRahman from Rabee` b. Muslim, who said:

I heard Abul Hasan (al Kadhim) [a], when he was asked about (the meaning of) as-Samad, say:
as-Samad is that which has no deficiencies. [Translator's note: Al-Kulayni (compiler of al-Kafi) has said the following regarding the meaning of as-Samad. “This is the correct meaning of as-Samad. What al-Mushabbihah (people who consider Allah similar to certain things) believe is not correct. as-Samad literally means solid as opposed to hollow, which applies only to physical objects. Allah, the Most High, is by far above such attributes. Had such attributes applied to Allah, the Most High, the Most Gracious, it would have contradicted His statement that says, ‘There is nothing similar to Him.’]

2 - `Ali b. Ahmed b. Muhammad b. `Imran al-Daqaaq - may Allah be pleased with him - narrated to us, he said: Muhammad b. Yaqoub narrated to us, from `Ali b. Muhammad, from Sahl b. Ziyad, from Muhammad b. Waleed - whose tite was Shabab al-Sayrafi - from Dawud b. Qasim al-Ja`fari who said:

I said to Abi Ja`far (al-Baqir) [a]: May I be your ransom, what is as-Samad?

He said: as-Samad means the Master towards whom one turns, in small (matters) and large.
3 - Abu Muhammad Ja`far b. `Ali, the faqeeh from Qum and, later, Ilaq - Allah be pleased with him - narrated to us, he said: Abu Sa`eed `Abdan b. Fadl narrated to us, he said: Abul Hasan Muhammad b. Yaqoub b. Muhammad b. Younis B. Ja`far b. Ibrahim b. Muhammad b. `Ali b. `Abdullah b. Ja`far b. Abi Talib narrated to me in the city of Khajnadah, he said: Abu Bakr Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Shuja` al-Farghani narrated to me, he said: Abu Muhammad al-Hasan b. Hammad al-`Anbari narrated to me in Egypt, he said: Isma`il b. `Abd al-Jaleel al-Barqi narrated to me, from Abil Bakhtari Wahab b. Wahab al-Qarashi, from Abi `Abdullah as-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad [a], who said:

(My father) Baqir [a] said: My father, Zain al-`Abideen [a] narrated to me from his father, Husain B. `Ali [a], who said:

as-Samad
is that which has no deficiencies.
And as-Samad is that with which (is reached) ultimate supremacy (? - suwaddadah). And as-Samad is that with which does not eat and does not drink. Andas-Samad is that which does not sleep. And as-Samad is that which has not passed away, nor will it pass away.

(Imam) Baqir [a] said: Muhammad b. Hanafiyyah - Allah sanctify his soul - used to say:
as-Samad means to exist by iteself, needless of others.

Others beside him said: as-Samad (is that which) transcends place and deterioration,
and as-Samad is that which cannot be described by things that change.(Imam) Baqir [a] said: as-Samad is a Master who is obeyed, such that above Him are none to command (Him) nor prohibit (Him).

He said: `Ali b. Husain Zayn al-`Abideen [a] was asked about as-Samad. He replied:
as-Samad is that which has no partner, nor is it difficult for it (the thing that is as-Samad) to keep things safe, nor is there anything concealed from it.

He said: Wahab b. Wahab al-Qarshi said: Zayd b. `Ali [a] said:
as-Samad is that which when wills a thing, says to it, Be: and it is. And as-Samad is that which invented things and created for them their opposites and forms and partners, while He is unique in His Oneness, without an opposite, nor a form, nor likeness, nor equal. And Wahab b. Wahab al-Qarshi said: I heard Sadiq [a] say: A delegation from Palestine approached al-Baqir [a] and asked him regarding some issues, so he answered them. Then they asked him aboutas-Samad, so he [a] said:

This is its explanation: as-Samad is made of five letters (alif, laam, saad, meem, daal). The alif is proof of his (?) iniyyatuh, and this is His, Mighty and Exalted, saying: Allah bears witness that there is no god but Him [Qur'an - 3:18]. And in this is a warning and reference to the Unseen (al-gha'ib) about understanding it through the senses. And the laam is proof of His divinity, that He is indeed Allah. And the alif and laam are combined (when written in as-Samad), and do not appear on the tongue (i.e., they are not pronounced), nor are they heard. But their appearance in the text is proof that His (Allah's) divinity is concealed by His subtlety (or, fineness -- lit. lutfihi), such that it (His divinity) is not encompassed by the senses, not can it be expressed by the tongue of any describer, nor (can it be heard) by the ear of any listener. Because the meaning of "the God" is He who perplexes creation when it (creation) tries to understand His essence and state of existence (or howness - kayfiyyah) by the senses or by the imagination. No, instead He is the originator of imaginations and the creator of senses.

And indeed their (
the alif and laam) appearance in the text is proof that Allah, the Exalted, has made apparent His lordship in the origination of creation, and in the mixing of their fine spirits in their coarse bodies. Such that when a servant (i.e. person) looks upon himself he cannot see his own spirit, just like the laam in as-Samad which is not visible and is not perceptible by the five senses (when spoken), but, when you look upon the text, that which was hidden and fine, becomes apparent.

For when a servant (person) contemplates on the essence of the Maker and His state of existence he gets confounded therein and (becomes) confused, and his thoughts cannot encompass any thing that he can conceive to be Him, since He, the Mighty and Exalted, is the creator of conceptions. For when one looks upon creation it is affirmed for him that indeed He, the Mighty and Exalted, is their creator and the One who has mixed their spirits into their bodies.

As for the saad (in
as-Samad) it is proof that indeed He, the Mighty and Exalted, is Truthful (Sadiq), and His speech is true, and His words are True. And He has invited His servants to pursue the truth with truth, and has promised with truth the House of Truth (i.e., Paradise). As for the meem (in as-Samad) it is proof of His Kingdom (Mulkuhu), and indeed He, the Mighty and Exalted, is the true King, (the One) who has not passed away, nor will pass away, nor does His Kingdom pass away. As for the daal (in as-Samad) it is proof of the eternity (Dawam) of His Kingdom, for indeed He, the Mighty and Exalted, is Eternal. He is above (the state of) being and passing away, rather He, the Mgithy and Exalted, brought into being the universe by whose formation all other all entities exist. [

ALLAH (S.T.) MEANS WHO DOMINATES THE SMALL AND THE LARGE

My father - may Allah have mercy on him - said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Ahmed b. Muhammad b. `Isa, from Qasim b. Yahya, from his grandfather Hasan b. Rashid, from Abi Hasan Musa b. Ja`far [a]:

Once, a question was asked (from the Imam) about the meaning of “Allah”. He (the Imam) replied, ‘It (the word “Allah”) means one who dominates the small and the large.’

2 - Muhammad b. al Qasim al Jarjani al Mufassir - may Allah be pleased with him - narrated to us; he said: Abu Ya`qub Yusuf b. Muhammad b. Ziyad and Abul Hasan `Ali b. Muhammad b. Sayyaar narrated to us, and these two were from the Imami Shi`i, and they from their fathers, from al Hasan b. `Ali b. Muhammad (al-Askari) [a] about the saying of Allah, Mighty and Exalted,: Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Raheem. So he [a] said:
“Allah is He towards whom are placed the desires and distresses of all creation. And when all hopes are severed from everyone apart from Him, and all provisions are cut off from all besides Him, you say:Bismillah. That is, I seek help in all my affairs from Allah, whom no one befits worship but Him, the One who helps when His help is sought, and the One who responds when called upon. And He is what, when a man said to al-Sadiq [a]: O son of the Messenger of Allah! Guide me regarding Allah, what is He? For often those who engage in arguments argue with me and perplex me.
So he (al-Sadiq [a]) said to him: “O `Abdullah! Have you ever sailed on a ship alone?” He said: Yes. He said: “Then has it ever broken down on you (during the joyrney) where there was no (other) ship to save you, nor was there any skilled swimmer to save you?”
He said: Yes.
He [a] said: “Then did it occur to you in your heart that there is a thing from the things which has the power to rescue you from your getting drowned?”
He said: Yes.
Al Sadiq [a] said: That very thing is Allah, the One capable of saving when there is no saviour, and of helping when there is no helper.

AL-ALIY AL-AZEEM - (THE HIGH, THE GREAT)

My father - may Allah be pleased with him - narrated with this chain: From Muhammad b. Sinan, from Abil Hasan ar-Rida [a], who said:

I (Muhammad b. Sinan) asked him [a]: Was Allah, Mighty and Exalted, aware of His nafs (Self) before He created creation?

He [a] replied: Yes.

I asked: Did He see it and hear it? (i.e., see and hear His nafs)

He replied: He had no need for such, since neither did he ask His nafs (any questions) nor did he demand (anything) from it. And He is His nafs and His nafs is Him. His Power is dominant. And He had no need to name Himself, but He chose to do so for others so they could call to Him by them (the names). Since, if you don't call one by means of his name, he is not recognized. And the first name that He chose for Himself is Al-`Aliy Al-`Azeem (the High, the Great) since He is above all things. So the meaning of the name (i.e., what it points to) is
Allah, though the name is Al-`Aliy Al-`Azeem. And this was the first name of His since He is High above all other things.

HOW TO RANK SHIAS...... HADEES

Abu Ja`far (al-Baqir) [a] said: O’ my son, recognize the ranks of Shi`a according to the amount of our narrations (they know) and their understanding thereof. And indeed this understanding is his cognizance of the narration. And through cognizance of the narrations the believer rises to the highest level of faith. Indeed when I glanced upon the Book of `Ali – upon whom be peace – I found therein: Indeed every man’s worth and importance is his ma`rifah (understanding). Allah, the Blessed and High, judges man according to the level of intellect accorded to him in this world.

3 - Ja`far b. Muhammad b. Masroor – may Allah be pleased with him – narrated from Husayn b. Muhammad b. `Amir, from the uncle of `Abdullah b. `Amir, from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr, from Ibrahim Karkhi, from Abi `Abdillah (al-Sadiq) [a], who said:

To understand one hadith is better than narrating a thousand. It is not possible for any man among you to be a faqeeh (thoroughly versed in knowledge of Islamic affairs) until he recognizes the different interpretations of our words. For indeed every word from our sayings can be interpreted in seventy different ways, and each of these ways is available for us to express ourselves.

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GOOD SPIRITS

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GOOD SPIRITS

One thing that is ,quite effective in diminishing the impact of anxiety and grief is making an effort to appear cheerful and happy:

Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, may peace be upon him, says:
Keep your good spirits in adversities and maintain a lively disposition in times of affliction.[28]

Always maintain an attitude of satisfaction and conciliation in life in order to be pleasing.[29]

Present-day psychologists also consider sportfulness and maintaining an appearance of gaity and cheerfulness as an effective and beneficial way of alleviating painful crises as well as an edifying factor of personality. They offer the following advice: Try to maintain a pleasant expression on your face. Make an effort to always appear so lively and free of sadness and somberness that everyone who meets you thinks that he has met the best of his friends. If you feel dejected or nervous, try not to manifest this dejection and sadness in your encounter with others. Try to appear cheerful and satisfied.

When you are in good spirits and you impress upon people as being jolly and hearty, others too will act in a genial manner towards you. They will open up in talking to you, and you all will derive pleasure from one another's company. When you get into in a cheerful state, there appears an effective behavioural mode in your conduct that attracts others.

The first step for being happy and lively are the expressions on one's face. Don't scowl; always keep a smile on your lips. These expression will undoubtedly produce an effect in you and will lighten your inner heaviness.

Otherwise sullenness will become a habit with you. People try to avoid morose and gloomy persons. A lively face attracts others, and there is nothing great about looking stern and grim. Some people imagine that if they always keep a stern look on their face, others will be impressed or overawed by them. This is not true. Whenever you feel sad, bring a smile on your lips and you will see how quickly your sadness disappears.[30]

1st of Zilqada to 10th of Zilhijjah

From the 1st of Zilqada to 10th of Zilhijjah are the days of Arbaeen-e-Kalimiyyah. These are the forty days when Prophet Musa (as) went on Mount Tur for Munajat from Allāh (swt). Initially it was to be for 30 days, another 10 days were added to make it 40 days as mentioned in Sura A’araaf - Aayat 143. During these days recitation of 'LAA ILAAHA ILLALLAAH ' is mustahab and very much stressed.

Hadees -The Commander of the Faithful Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him)

Imam Alis(as) said:

The man of knowledge is the one who recognizes that what is known is very little compared to what is not known, and as a result he considers himself ignorant, and accordingly he increases his efforts to know more by going out in search of knowledge.

HADEES OF IMAM REZA (A.S.)

One day Imam Reza (A.S.) mentioned Quran, so he described the magnanimity and glory of its authority and its miracles saying,

"That is the firm cable of Allah, firmest handhold the ideal and model path, it guides leads toward paradise and is the savior from the fire (of Hell). It does not corrode or wear out by the passage and flow of time. More over, its continuous repetition and recitation through the tongue does not devalue and depreciate it, since, it is not made to exist for a certain age or period apart from other ages and periods. Instead, it has been made a proof, logic for all human beings. Falsehood does neither find passage in the front or afore of it nor from it's back side.

It has been descended (revealed) by Allah, the all wise, all praise worthy.

PRAYERS

Oct 14, '10 11:48 AM
for everyone

Prayers

-- Imam Ali (AS)
In his deathbed, placed a great emphasis on worshipping God, the Almighty saying, "Prayers, prayers, prayers."

--The Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran says: "Man always needs to worship God especially when in danger."

-- A scholar of Qom Seminary

says: "One night I was invited to the house of Hajj Mustafa Khomeini [son of Imam Khomeini (R.A.)] who lived with his father. In the middle of the night someone moaning awakened me. I woke Hajj Mustafa up and asked him what the moaning could be. He listened for a moment and then said: `It is Imam Khomeini communing with his Lord.'"

--The Prophet (SAW)said: "On the night of Ascension I saw 70,000 cities like those of yours wherein angels had been worshipping God saying: `May God, the Almighty send His blessings unto those who attend the Friday prayers."

-- Prayers are the most comprehensive forms of worshipping.

--Imam Mahdi (AS) said to Zuhri twice: "Those who delay the performance of morning prayers until the setting of stars and of the evening prayers until the appearance of stars -- are out of Allah's blessings."

-- The Prophet (SAW)

said: "After their death, those who have not performed their prayers would beseech God to allow them to return to this world to make up for what they have neglected. (But) God, the Almighty will not do so because He knows well that they will not stand by their words."

--The Holy Prophet of Islam (SAW) says that there are secrets about paying Zakat (poor-rate) which also exist in prayers:

a) Zakat is a financial gift to the poor and in prayers one pray for the poor as well as the Muslim Ummah.

b) By paying Zakat, one's wealth becomes pure and by worshipping God, one's heart is cleansed of sins.

c) Zakat means thanking Allah and by the performance of prayers one thanks Him in his heart for his mental and physical health.

d) Zakat is the destroyer of financial meanness and prayer is the destroyer of one's arrogance.

e) Zakat protects one's wealth and worship protects one's deeds against evil-doings. Zakat is a stock for the poor and prayers are a stock for the pious.

f) He who pays Zakat wishes abundance in his wealth and he who worships wishes to be rewarded.

-- As long as one is praying, angels pray for him saying, "O Lord! Send your blessings unto him."

--Anas Ibn Malik said that the Prophet (SAW) never allowed his prayers to be delayed, even when he was traveling.

-- One dayAbdullah Ibn Masoudattended the congregation prayer led by the Holy Prophet (SAW), but he was late. He freed a slave to compensate for having lost the virtue of attending the congregation in time.

He asked the Prophet (SAW) if Allah had forgiven him.The Prophet (SAW)said that if he would spent all his wealth, he will never be given back the spiritual reward he had missed.

-- The Prayers of the followings are not accepted:

1- Those who are indifferent to others.

Imam Sadiq (AS) says: "The prayers of those who are indifferent to the destitute and the homeless will not be accepted."

2- Usurers

The Prophet (SAW) says: "The prayers of usurers are like building a house on sandy ground."

3- Irresponsible People

The Prophet (SAW) says: "The prayers of those women who benefit from their husbands' income, but do not show a sense of responsibility to do their duties - are not accepted by God."

4- Those who evade paying Zakat

The Qur'an places great emphasis on the observance of prayers as well as paying Zakat. God does not accept the prayers of those who do not pay Zakat.

Do Not Use the Bounties for Committing Sins

Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) wrote a letter to certain friends of his:

If you wish that your life and the hereafter be accomplished with the best of the deeds and that your soul be captured (death occurs) in this condition, then acknowledge the supremacy of Allah.

Do not misuse the bounties and gifts granted to you by Allah in committing acts that are forbidden by Him and become disobedient to Him. Respect all those who remember us, Ahle Bayt (a.s.), and claim to love us. It is immaterial (for you) whether he is truthful or not. For you will be rewarded according to your intention and they (the liars) will be punished for their sins.

Conversation of Ali (a.s.) With Some Shias

Conversation of Ali (a.s.) With Some Shias

On a certain evening Ali (a.s.) was departing from the mosque. The surroundings were bright due to the moonlight. He saw behind him a group of people walking towards him. He enquired as to who they were? They said: "We are your Shias." Ali (a.s.) looked at their faces carefully and said.

"Why is it that your faces do not exhibit any sign of you being a Shia?".

"Master, what are the signs of a Shia?"

"Their faces are pale due to excessive worship and the fear of Allah, their backs are bent due to prolonged prayers, too much fasting causes their abdomen to touch their backbones, their lips become dry be repeating endless invocations, and their hearts are filled with the fear of Allah."
(Behaarul Anwaar, Al-Irshad).

HADEES OF THE HOLY PROPHET (S.A.W.S.)

O

1 - Hypocrites are characterized by three features: telling lies, reneging on promises, breaching of trust.

2 - The most hateful thing to Allah among those lawful ones is divorce.

3 - Oh, Adam’s descendant! If you have a healthy body and a peaceful mind, and can afford your livelihood for one day , don’t worry about anything else!

4 - Oh, Adam’s descendant! You have within your reach whatever meets your needs, whereas you are seeking things that develop disobedience in you, you do not choose contentment, and nothing, however abundant, can satisfy you.

5 - Avoid the curse of the opressed, since they seek adjudication from Allah and He will never let them down & deny them their rights.

6 - Refrain from using unlawfully obtained construction materials in your building, for they will ruin it.

8 - He who grants a respite to his debtor or cancels his debt will be in heaven on the Day of Judgement.

9 - Fear the curse of the oppressed for it spreads up as the flames of fire.

10 - God punishes man for two sins in this world: injustice and ungratefulness towards parents.

11 - Whoever from among you is more valiant to take solemn oath is nearer to the Hell.

7 - Fear the believer’s insight, for in seeing things, he is assisted by the light of Allah.

12 - Be moderately wordly minded; since everybody shall receive whatever is apportioned to him by fate.

13 - To God, the best act is timely prayer, then right conduct towards parents, then struggle in the way of God.

14 - To God, the most popular servants are unknown pious ones.

15 - To God. The best act is the one which is more lasting, however scanty that might be.

THE SIGNS OF AKHIRAT-3

"Oh Salman, at that time they will decorate the mosques as they do to the temples of the Christians and the Jews, and will decorate the Qur'an (without acting accordingly). The Minarets will be long and the people praying will be a lot, but in their hearts they are enemies and the tongues will differ.

Salman asked: "does this really happen oh prophet of Allah"? He replied: "yes, I swear to him who holds of my life." "Oh Salman, at that time the males of my ummah will be wearing gold and silk clothing and will make clothes out of leopard/cheetah skin."

Salman asked: "does this really happen oh prophet of Allah"? He replied: "yes, I swear to him who has hold of my life." "Oh Salman, at that time adultery will be performed openly, trading will be performed with backbiting and bribe, and people will put religion down and think only of worldly affairs."

Salman asked: "does this really happen oh prophet of Allah"? He replied: "yes, I swear to him who holds of my life" "Oh Salman, at that time divorce will be common and punishment will not be according to Allah's will in Islamic laws. But they must know that they are the ones who suffer, not Allah."

Salman asked, "is this possible oh prophet of Allah?" He replied, "yes, I swear to him who holds of my life." "Oh Salman, at that time the singer women, music instrument, and playing music will appear, and the wicked of my ummah will go for them (will follow them)."

Salman asked. "is this possible oh prophet of Allah? He replied, "yes, I swear to him who holds my life."

"Oh Salman, at that time the wealthy people in my ummah will go to hajj for pleasure, the middle class people in my ummah will go to hajj for trading, and the poor in my ummah will go to hajj for show off. At that time there will be people who learn the Quran not for Allah's sake. They treat that like playing instrument. There will be people who learn the religious knowledge not for Allah's sake. And the number of illegitimate children will increase. And people recite Quran in a musical way. People will race each other over the worldly material."

Salman asked, "does this happen oh prophet of Allah?" He replied, "yes, I swear to him who holds of my life."

"Oh Salman, this will happen when the veil of venerate will be torn apart (honors will be defiled), sins will be common, the bad will take authority over the good, lies will be plentiful, obstinacy(disputes) will be open, the number of poor will increase, and people will pride oneself because of clothing. There will be unseasonable rain, the instruments of music and gamble will be considered interesting, and will dislike amr-e-bil ma’roof (enjoining the good) and nahie-anil monkar (forbidding the evil) so much as that the true Momin (believer) at this time will be considered at the lowest degree of all amongst the ummah, the Quran reciter will backbite one another. Those are the people who will be called unclean and filthy in the kingdom of heavens."

Salman asked: "does this really happen oh prophet of Allah"? He replied: "yes, I swear to him who holds of my life "Oh Salman, at that time, the rich will not be afraid (of anything) except to the poor so much so that a beggar will continue begging between two Fridays and will not find anyone putting anything in his hands."

Salman asked: "does this really happen oh prophet of Allah"? He replied: "yes, I swear to him who holds of my life "Oh Salman, at that time will talk ‘Ruuwaibidhah’."

Salman asked: "And what is Ruwaibidhah? O Messenger of Allah, my father and mother be sacrificed for you." Holy Prophet S.A.W.W. said, "Such persons will talk about public affairs who had not talked in such matter before. Then in a short time, chaos will appear upon the earth, and every nation will think that chaos was only in their land (but it will cover the whole world)." "They will remain in that condition as long as Allah would wish them to remain. Then the Earth will throw out the pieces of its heart - gold, silver, and other minerals - (then the Holy Prophet S.A.W.W. pointed towards the pillars, and said), "like these in size, but on that day neither gold nor silver will be of any benefit to anyone. And this is the meaning of the words of Allah ‘So surely did come its (i.e. Qiyamat’s) SIGNS’."
