What Not to Say About Someone's Appearance | for everyone |
What Not to Say About Someone's Appearance
Why: It implies she doesn't look good.
Instead say: "Is everything OK?" We often blurt the "tired" comment when we get the sense that the other person feels out of sorts. So just ask.
Don't say: "Wow, you've lost a ton of weight!"
Why: To a newly trim person, it might give the impression that she used to look unattractive.
Instead say: "You look fantastic." And leave it at that. If you're curious about how she got so svelte, add, "What's your secret?"
Don't say: "You look good for your age."
Why: Anything with a caveat like this is rude. It's saying, "You look great compared with other old people. It's amazing you have all your own teeth."
Instead say: "You look great."
Don't say: "I could never wear that."
Why: It can be misunderstood as a criticism. ("I could never wear that because it's so ugly.")
Instead say: "You look so good in skinny jeans." If you slip, say something like "I could never wear that…because I wasn't blessed with your long legs."
THE HOLY PROPHET (S.A.W.S.) HADEES- I | for everyone |
1- He who treats people kindly will be accepted as arbiter.
2- To trust everybody in times of injustice and cheating is disability.
3- If problems are added to each other, they will give birth to relief.
4- To recognize the actuality of your friend, you should enrage him. If he keeps up his friendship, he is true friend lest, he is false.
5- Do not appreciate one's affection before you enrage him three times.
6- Do not trust your friend perfectly, because the knockdown of the trustful is incurable.
7- Islam is a definite rank. Faith is one rank higher than Islam. Conviction is one rank higher than faith. People have been given a rank lower than conviction.
8- To remove a mountain is easier than removing faith.
9- Beware of joking, because it causes rancor and drives into malice. Joking is the lesser revilement.
10- The desire for the worldly pleasures causes grief and sadness. Abstinence from the worldly pleasures brings about the rest of both heart and body.
11- Life is to rent a house and buy bread.
12- He who gains oppression is not gaining welfare. He who mistreats people should not complain when people mistreat him.
13- In homelands, exchanging visits is the means of association. In travel, correspondence is the means of association.
14- A believer is not perfectly virtuous unless he enjoys three characters-- knowledgeability of the religious affairs, moderation in living, and steadfastness against misfortunes.
YOUR CHILDREN.. | for everyone |
Train your children in three things …
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: ‘Train your children in three things: the love of your Prophet, the love of his progeny, i.e. Ahlul-Bayt (a.s.) and recitation of the 'Quran'
LIFE OF THE WORLD IS ONLY PLAY.... | for everyone |
Know that the life of this world is only play, and idle talk, and pageantry, and boasting among you, and rivalry in respect of wealth and children as the likeness of vegetation after rain, whereof the growth is pleasing to the husbandman, but afterward it drieth up and thou seest it turning yellow, then it becometh straw. And in the hereafter there is grievous punishment, and (also) forgiveness from Allah and His good pleasure, whereas the life of the world is but matter of illusion.

IMAM ALI (A.S.) SAID | for everyone |
"That knowledge is very superficial which remains only on your tongue; the intrinsic merit and value of knowledge are that you act upon it"
O you who carry knowledge around with you; are you only carrying it around with you?
For surely knowledge belongs to who ever know and then acts accordingly, so that his action corresponds to his knowledge. There will be a people who will carry knowledge around with them, but it will not pass beyond their shoulders.
Their inner most thoughts will contradict what they display in public and their actions will contradict what they know.
'Ask in order to understand, and do not ask in order to find fault, for surely the ignorant man who wants to learn resembles a man of knowledge, and surely a man of knowledge who wants to be difficult resembles an ignorant man who wants to find fault. '

GOOD QUOTES | for everyone |
We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
A good metaphor is something even the police should keep an eye on.
Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason so few engage in it.
No man can climb out beyond the limitations of his own character.
The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher strates. The great teacher inspires.
In the republic of mediocrity, genius is dangerous.
Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative.
Time is but the stream I go fishing in. I drink at it, but while I drink I see the sandy bottom and detect how shallow it is. It's thin current slides away, but eternity remains.
What makes saintliness in my view, as distinguished from ordinary goodness, is a certain quality of magnanimity and greatness of soul that brings life within the circle of the heroic.
Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.
The family is one of nature's masterpieces.
Smartness runs in my family. When I went to school I was so smart my teacher was in my class for five years.
Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another.
I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.
The family you come from isn't as important as the family you're going to have.
The best teacher is the one who suggests rather than dogmatizes, and inspires his listener with the wish to teach himself.
Not when truth is dirty, but when it is shallow, does the enlightened man dislike to wade into its waters.
To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.
The moral duty to be expected in different ages is not a unity of standard, or of acts, but a unity of tendency. At one time the benevolent affections embrace merely the family, soon the circle expanding includes first a class, then a nation, then a coalition of nations, then all humanity and finally, its influence is felt in the dealings of man with the animal world.
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: It goes on.
Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.
There is nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer.

Skin Care With Banana: Remedies At Home | for everyone |
Skin Care With Banana: Remedies At Home
Many people cringe at the sight of bananas. They fear the unnecessary calories they might be piling on. It is common to have them run right past the fruit while at the supermarket. While consuming bananas may lead to putting on a lot of calories, bananas can help care for the body and make quick remedies.
If you have areas of your body that appear cracked, dry and dull, try using a banana on them. This is useful for cracked and dry elbows and also the feet. Mix banana with a little honey, and a little gram flour with beaten and banana. After applying a thick coat of this mixture to the affected areas, leave it on for half an hour, or till the mixture has dried up totally. Wash it off using lukewarm water. This will help make the skin softer and responsive.
How to Use Banana Peel For Skin Care
Use To Help Psoriasis
Rub the inside of a banana peel to the affected area and although it will be red at first, you should notice a difference in your skin within a few days.
Use To Heal Acne
Again, simply rub the inside of the banana peel over your acne, whether it’s on your face or body, and your acne should improve within a few uses. I recommend applying at night so you don’t smell like a banana all day.
Take The Bite Out Of Poison Ivy
Rub the inside of a banana peel onto the poison ivy area and the itching should stop and the inflammation will go down. Reapply as needed. This is a great reason to pack a few banana’s on that camping or hiking trip.
Heal Warts
Rub the inside of a banana peel on the wart every night for a week and you will see improvement. Plantar’s warts have responded well to this, and other warts may as well. If you are in a hurry, try taping the peel to the affected area overnight and you should see dramatic improvement within a week or two.
Make a Facial Cream
* Mash 1/4 of a banana into a small bowl.
* In a separate bowl, whisk one egg white until frothy.
* Add one tablespoon of cornstarch to the egg white and continue to whisk together.
* Add mashed banana and mix well.
* Apply a thin layer of the banana mixture to face and allow to dry for 30 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
* Any leftover banana facial mixture can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days.

A new minister was walking with an older, more seasoned minister in the garden one day.Feeling a bit insecure about what God had for him to do, he was asking the older preacher for some advice.
The older preacher walked up to a rosebush and handed the young preacher a rosebud and told him
to open it without tearing off any petals.
The young preacher looked in disbelief at the older preacher and was trying to figure out
what a rosebud could possibly have to do with his wanting to know the will of God for his life and ministry.
But because of his great respect for the older preacher, he proceeded to try to unfold the rose,
while keeping every petal intact. It wasn't long before he realized how impossible this was to do.
Noticing the younger preacher's inability to unfold the rosebud without tearing it, the older preacher

High Blood Pressure | for everyone |
High Blood Pressure
Description:This factsheet is for people who have high blood pressure (hypertension), or who would like information about it. Blood pressure is a measure of the force that the blood applies to the walls of the arteries as it flows through them. It's normal for blood pressure to increase when you exert yourself, or when you feel stressed or anxious. But if your blood pressure is consistently higher than the healthy level when at rest, this is high blood pressure (hypertension).
About high blood pressure
Blood carrying oxygen and nutrients is pumped around your body by your heart. As a result of the pumping action of your heart and the size and flexibility of your arteries that carry blood, the blood is under pressure. This blood pressure is an essential part of the way your body works.
You can get high blood pressure if the walls of your larger arteries lose their elasticity and become rigid.
You can get high blood pressure if the walls of your larger arteries lose their elasticity and become rigid.
Symptoms
Most people with high blood pressure don't have any symptoms.
If you have very high blood pressure, or a rapid rise in blood pressure, you may have headaches, problems with your vision, fits or black-outs
If you have very high blood pressure, or a rapid rise in blood pressure, you may have headaches, problems with your vision, fits or black-outs
Complications
DIf you have high blood pressure, you have an increased risk of major illnesses including:
- cardiovascular disease such as angina (chest pain caused by reduced blood flow), stroke, heart attack, heart failure or atrial fibrillation (irregular heart beat)
- kidney damage
- damaged sight
Causes
Primary hypertension
More than nine in 10 people with high blood pressure have what is called primary or essential hypertension. This means that it has no single clear cause.
Although the exact cause of primary hypertension isn't fully understood, it's known that some factors to do with your lifestyle can contribute. These include:
- smoking
- obesity (being very overweight)
- drinking a lot of alcohol - especially if you binge drink
- lack of exercise
- your diet
If someone else in your family has high blood pressure, you also have a higher risk of developing it.
Secondary hypertension
YAround one in 20 people with high blood pressure have secondary hypertension. This means your condition can be linked to a recognised cause such as:
- kidney disease
- endocrine disease (hormone disorders - a hormone is a regulatory chemical that occurs naturally in your body)
- a narrowing of the aorta (the largest artery leading from the heart) or the arteries leading to the kidneys
Secondary hypertension can also be caused by:
- steroid medicines
- the contraceptive pill
- pregnancy, which can cause pre-eclampsia - this can be serious and harm your baby
Diagnosis
As you might not have any symptoms, your doctor may diagnose high blood pressure when you have your blood pressure taken as part of a medical examination. That's one good reason to have a regular check-up with your doctor, especially if you're over 50
Your doctor or nurse will measure your blood pressure with a monitor called a sphygmomanometer. A cuff is placed around your upper arm and inflated to a certain level, then deflated slowly. A sensor in the cuff provides information about your blood pressure.
The result is expressed as two numbers, such as 120/80mmHg (one hundred and twenty over eighty millimetres of mercury).
- The first figure - the systolic blood pressure - is a measure of the pressure when your heart muscle is contracted and pumping blood. This is the maximum pressure in your blood system.
- The second figure - the diastolic blood pressure - is the pressure between heart beats when your heart is resting and filling with blood. This is the minimum pressure in your blood system.
Your doctor may ask you to come back for repeat measurements over a number of weeks before suggesting that you have treatment. This is so he or she can check that the high reading is an ongoing problem and not a one-off.
You may also need some tests to see if hypertension is affecting the rest of your body. These may include:
- a urine test - protein in your urine may be the first sign of a kidney problem
- a blood test to check your cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as the condition of your kidneys
- an electrocardiogram (ECG) - a test that measures the electrical activity of your heart to see how well it's working
Monitoring
24-hour ambulatory monitoring
You may be given a 24-hour ambulatory monitoring to confirm your diagnosis. This will measure your blood pressure over 24 hours. A monitoring device will be strapped round your waist and attached to a cuff wrapped around your upper arm. The cuff will inflate and deflate automatically throughout the 24 hours and take recordings of your blood
Monitoring
You might consider getting a blood pressure monitor to use yourself at home - discuss this option with your doctor. The Blood Pressure Association (see Further information) can provide you with a list of clinically validated blood pressure monitors.
It's important to take readings on different days - for example you shouldn't just measure your blood pressure when you feel stressed. Set days in the week to take the measurement so that you can get a consistent reading.
You should continue to have your blood pressure tested regularly by your doctor even if you use a blood pressure monitor at home.
Treatment
You're likely to need long-term treatment for high blood pressure as it isn't curable.
You may not need much treatment if you only have slightly raised blood pressure, but regular monitoring is important.
If you have very high blood pressure, you may need to go to hospital for treatment. But it's much more likely that you will be cared for by your doctor and/or a nurse.
Self-help
Your doctor or nurse is likely to discuss lifestyle changes which might help. For example, he or she might advise you to
- stop smoking
- change your diet to a low-fat, low-salt diet that includes fruit and vegetables
- cut down on alcohol
- cut down on coffee and high-caffeine drinks, such as cola
- take some regular, moderate exercise
- lose any excess weight
It may also help to try to reduce the stress in your life to prevent short-term rises in blood pressure - try relaxation techniques or meditation.
Medicines
If your blood pressure remains high, your doctor may prescribe you one or more of the following antihypertensive medicines.
- ACE inhibitors (eg ramipril) or angiotensin II receptor antagonists (such as candesartan cilexetil eg Amias) - these relax and widen the walls of your blood vessels.
- Calcium-channel blockers (eg amlodipine) - these help to widen your blood vessels.
- Diuretics (eg bendroflumethiazide) - these increase the amount of water and salt removed from your blood by your kidneys. This lowers the volume of your blood which reduces blood pressure.
- Beta-blockers (eg atenolol) - these medicines reduce the work your heart has to do by reducing your pulse rate at rest and when you exercise.
- Alpha blockers (eg doxazosin) - these help to widen your blood vessels.
The medicines your doctor prescribes will depend on a number of factors, including your age and ethnicity. It may take time to find the best treatment for you; one that balances benefits against any side-effects.
It's important to be committed to taking your medication every day even if you don't have any symptoms of high blood pressure.
Special considerations
Pregnancy
If you're pregnant your blood pressure will be monitored regularly whether you have hypertension or not. It's possible that you may develop high blood pressure during your pregnancy (pregnancy-induced hypertension) which can lead to serious problems (this is called pre-eclampsia).
If you have high blood pressure and think you may be, or are trying to become, pregnant it's important that you tell your doctor. Certain medicines for treating high blood pressure aren't suitable for pregnant women.

Foods which influence your mood | for everyone |
Foods which influence your mood
Description:If you are agitated and irritable and can’t really blame your boss, spouse, colleague or client for it, maybe it’s time to take a look at your eating habits. Your diet can affect the way you think and feel in at least two distinct ways. One is by influencing the chemical messengers in your brain and secondly through its effect on your blood sugar level.
If you are agitated and irritable and can’t really blame your boss, spouse, colleague or client for it, maybe it’s time to take a look at your eating habits. Your diet can affect the way you think and feel in at least two distinct ways. One is by influencing the chemical messengers in your brain and secondly through its effect on your blood sugar level. So let’s take a look at the kind of food that can keep you in a good mood.
The Right Breakfast
A good breakfast is the key to keeping you in a good mood throughout the day. The mood enhancing breakfast should have the right carbohydrates such as whole wheat breads and breakfast cereals. Broken wheat (daliya) is an easily available whole grain. Whole grains are important because they are absorbed slowly and keep your blood sugar levels stable. Swinging blood sugar is a common cause of irritability. In addition, carbohydrates boost the supply of tryptophan in the brain, which in turn boosts serotonin synthesis.
Plenty of Water
Another common cause of irritability and fatigue is dehydration. Keep a bottle of water handy and make sure that you drink water at regular intervals. Tea, coffee and soft drinks are not substitutes for water. However, munching on some fruits such as apples and oranges can help you stay better hydrated.
Green Leafy Vegetables
Leafy greens are good sources of folate. Folate deficiency has been linked with depression in some studies. You can ensure that your diet is not folate deficient by regularly consuming some spinach, lettuce, and other leafy greens. Nuts (almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts) and legumes (all daals and peas) are also a good source of folate.
Fish and Walnuts
The benefits of omega-3 fatty acids are endless! You know that they are good for your heart and your arteries. Now scientists have found that they also influence metabolic pathways in your brain and can combat depression. Given all the benefits of omega-3s, it makes perfect sense to include some rich sources such as fish and walnuts in your diet.
Lean Meats
Lean meats such as chicken, pork and beef provide an amino acid called tyrosine. Tyrosine boosts the levels of dopamine and norepinephrine, brain messengers that can help you feel more alert and focused. Meats also provide vitamin B12, which fights insomnia and depression.
Dark Chocolate
Now we all know that this one is a quick and utterly desirable mood booster. It provides two chemicals, caffeine and theobromine that have a mood enhancing effect. Have the darkest variety of chocolate that you can find for maximum benefit.
Baked or Mashed Potato
Baked or mashed potato can be a quick fix for a foul mood because it causes the release of serotonin in your brain. However, fried potato chips do not have the same effect because of the accompanying fat.
Seafood
Seafood such as oysters, sardines, clams, crab and fish produce a mood enhancing effect by supplying plenty of selenium. Selenium has been shown to have an antidepressant effect in research studies. Thankfully, many of the other healthy foods such as nuts, legumes, and whole grains are also good sources of selenium.

Diet tips for diabetics | for everyone |
Diet tips for diabetics
Description: India has the highest number of diabetics in the world, according to the International Journal of Diabetes in Developing Countries that calls India the diabetes capital of the world.
because of sedentary lifestyle, lack of physical activity, obesity, stress and consumption
of diets rich in fat, sugar and calories. November is Diabetes Awareness Month, so it is
apt to take a few moments to consider how one can prevent or better manage Diabetes.
Diabetes is a serious chronic health condition that is the result of high blood sugar
levels. When blood sugar levels are too high, they become toxic to the organs, including
the brain. Of the three types of diabetes, Type 2 diabetes (also called adult-onset
diabetes or non-insulin dependent diabetes) is usually linked to eating high amounts of
refined carbohydrates and sugars, being sedentary, and being overweight. However, it is
also the type that responds best to dietary and lifestyle changes.
Anyone can get diabetes – being proactive and knowing the warning signs can
significantly reduce our risks. These diet tips are easy to follow and will help you in
fighting Diabetes:
- Make fiber-rich foods and vegetables the focal point of your meal
- Eat more fiber by eating more whole-grain foods like oatmeal, whole grain rice, and whole wheat bread
- Eat plenty of dark green veggies like spinach and broccoli; orange veggies like carrots, pumpkin and winter squash; beans and peas
- Eat at least one large green salad with cold-pressed flax seed oil dressing everyday
- Sprinkle flax seed over salads. Flax seed seasoning is available in larger grocery stores
- Reduce or eliminate refined carbohydrates and sugars, including so-called healthy sweeteners like honey and maple syrup
- Avoid “diet” and “sugar-free” products: these typically contain synthetic sweeteners that are toxic to the body and damaging to both diabetics and non-diabetics alike. Instead, sweeten food with stevia if you need to
- Add chromium-rich foods to your diet, including whole grains, eggs, shiitake mushrooms, liver, onions, garlic, cucumbers, green and yellow beans
- Avoid fruit-flavored drinks, sodas, tea or coffee sweetened with sugar
- Cut down on salt in cooking and at the table. Avoid foods that are high in salt like packaged soups, pickles, processed meats (sausages, salami, ham)
- Never skip meals; this makes you binge in the next one
- Limit your alcohol intake
- Make changes slowly. It takes time to achieve lasting goals
