1. Oh God! I take asylum and refuge with you from the revolt, and rebellious (attitude) refractoriness, of the anger and jealousy and the scarcity of patience, and extravagance and intemperance in life.
Oh God! Keep me alive till my life is led in your service and obedience and when it becomes the pasture and meadow of Satan, take me towards yourself and take my life.
2. Oh sons! Respect you father and mother because if the father was not there you would not have come into existence. Look at the mother that she looks after you with all of her existence (energies). She is not afraid of it that she herself remains hungry and feeds you. She herself remains cloth less (without dress) and covers (dresses) you. She remains in the sun and places you in the Shadow. You cannot thank her. This is God who has the power of thanking her (giving her the reward).

3. Watch over and attend your child because his good or bad (virtues) are related and connected to you and you are responsible for his training and guidance.

4. Be kind to your brother and sister because he/she is your hand (helper) and your power. Help him against the enemy and be his well wisher.

5. Respect your teacher and be polite in his assembly (session) and listen carefully to his words. Do not talk loudly before him. If somebody questions him about something do not reply before he does although you may know the answer to that (question).

6. Respect your neighbor and help and assist him. If you happen to observe a fault or sin of him do hide it and when he slips (commits sin) admonish him.

7. Be just in your conduct and behavior with friend and love him as he loves you.
If he makes up his mind to commit a sin stop him from that and always be a blessing for him, not a torment for him.

One day when our 7th Imam, Imam musa al-Kadhim (A) was only 5 years old, Abu Hanifa asked him who is responsible for our deeds. Does man do them of his own free will or does Allah make him do them.

Imam (A) replied that were are three possibilities:
Allah makes man do them.
Both Allah and man are responsible.
Man does them alone.
If the first is true than Allah should be judged on the day of Qiyamat and sent to heaven or hell.
If the second is true that both Allah and man should be judged on the day of Qiyamat and sent to heaven or hell.
The only one that is true is the third one because only man will be judged on the day of Qiyaaat and sent to heaven or hell, as only man alone is responsible for his actions and deeds.
There was a poor uneducated farmer who was very rude to our 7th Imam, Imam musa al-Kadhim (A) whenever he saw him.

No matter how rude this man was, Imam (A) never got angry and he never said anything to the man.
Imam"s (A) friends wanted to punish the rude man, but Imam (A) would not allow them to. Imam (A) told them that he himself would teach this man a lesson.

One day Imam musa al-Kadhim (A) rode out to the rude man"s farm where the man was working. When the man saw Imam (A) he stopped working and put his hands on his hips, ready to be abusive again.

Imam (A) dismounted, went towards the man and greeted him with a friendly, smiling face. Imam (A) then told him that he should not overwork himself and that the land he had was very good. He then asked him how much he was expecting to receive for the crop.

The farmer was amazed at Imam (A) politeness and sincerity, he waited a little then said that he was expecting to get around 200 gold pieces. Imam (A) took out a purse and gave it to the farmer telling him that in it was 300 gold pieces, more than the value of his crop. Imam (A) told the man to take the money and also to keep the crop, and that he hoped the man would receive more for it.

The farmer faced with such kind behaviour and good Akhlaq, was very ashamed of himself and asked Imam (A) for forgiveness. After that when ever the man would see Imam (A) he would greet him very politely. The Imam"s (A) friends were very surprised!

Modesty

One day Imam musa Kadhim was passing by the tent of a Nomad who was a black man. He went up to him and said "Salam-Alaikum", in a warm and friendly manner.
Upon leaving he said good-bye to him in a very kind manner with these words: "If there is anything I can do for you, I"m more than willing to do it".
One of the followers of the Imam who saw this attitude said "Is it suitable for you, the son of the messenger of Allah, to sit and talk with a man of no reputation and make such an offer as: If you need me in any work, I"m more than willing to do it? Is it right for a man of great dignity to talk to a man like that?".
The Imam replied, "This is one of Allah"s creatures. Allah has created all men equal. Besides, as a Muslim, he is our brother in faith. After all, life does not remain the same forever. One who needs help today may be the one who will be able to help us tomorrow when we"ll need help! If we don"t pay any attention to him today, one day when we may need him we will be embarrassed to ask him for help".

Difference between a Pentium and a Celeron processor?
Here are the most important similarities and differences between the Pentium 4 and the Celeron chips coming out today:
Core - The Celeron chip is based on a Pentium 4 core.

Cache - Celeron chips have less cache memory than Pentium 4 chips do. A Celeron might have 128 kilobytes of L2 cache, while a Pentium 4 can have four times that. The amount of L2 cache memory can have a big effect on performance.

Clock speed - Intel manufactures the Pentium 4 chips to run at a higher clock speed than Celeron chips. The fastest Pentium 4 might be 60 percent faster than the fastest Celeron.

Bus speed - There are differences in the maximum bus speeds that the processors allow. Pentium 4s tend to be about 30 percent faster than Celerons.

When you compare the two chips side by side, a Celeron and a Pentium 4 chip running at the same speed are different beasts. The smaller L2 cache size and slower bus speeds can mean serious performance differences depending on what you want to do with your computer. If all you do is check e-mail and browse the Web, the Celeron is fine, and the price difference can save you a lot of money. If you want the fastest machine you can buy, then you need to go with the Pentium 4 to get the highest clock speeds and the fastest system bus.

Concentration in Salat - Sayed Ammar Nakshawani

19 Ramadan 2010

We must look at our attitude in approaching our salat.
Psychologists say that when you want to complete a task, it is 70% attitude 30% intellect.
You will notice at college that there are some geniuses who are arrogant and often the less smart student get higher marks. Why? Because the arrogant genius 70% intellect and 30% attitude, and the less smart student puts in 70% attitude so he gets the higher grades.

The same applies to salat.

First reflect on your attitude before you approach salat.

When you go to the mosque to pray, you will see the 'mehrab'.
'Mehrab' comes from the word 'harb' which means war.
Why would Allah name part of the mosque where you pray after war?

Because you are entering into a war with shaitan when you go to pray.

The first step, It to prepare yourself that you are in going into ten minutes of a real battle.
When you play a sport, you have battle, and you psych yourself up, and get yourself ready for your opponent.

That 'mehrab' means I am in a war with shaitan.
If I pray for 5 minutes, how many of those minutes does my mind wonder elsewhere, if it does shaitan has defeated me in the war.

Put a human being in front of a soccer match and when he is watching it he can be like a zombie and no one can interrupt him.

Put him in front of his Lord for 5 minutes and he can't concentrate!
As his attitude is probably that he thinks, I am not really benefitting from praying salat, I am just praying it because i don't want to go to hell.

The
holy Quran describes two types of people who approach salat and will never achieve concentration.

The
Quran says, don't approach salat in a state of intoxication, and don't pray in laziness.

Some people don't pray at work but after work. They have a lunch break, but don't pray in their lunch break, instead they pray after a nine hour day. Do you think you will pray it properly? If you are tired there is no way u will pray properly.
You will be in such a state of laziness

When you break your fast some people do not pray first and he smells food and it is like he has changed. See if he can pray straight after he eats? No, he wants to relax a bit on the sofa and pray later.

Don't approach salat when lazy is the first step in concentration in salat.
Imam Ali said after he was struck with the poisoned sword while he was praying, 'I have succeeded'. He had succeeded in the war with shaitan. Imam Ali won.

The next thing you have to ask yourself is, do I believe there are benefits in salat or not?
When you just think it is obligatory, you will not think there are any other benefits.
If he believes there is a benefit in something, psychologically he will perform it in the best way.

Lets look at the benefits of salat. The first benefit is that it builds humility in an otherwise arrogant being, as you would never bow down to anyone.

You need to remember one day you were made from clay and one day you will go back.

The 4th Imam says, If you knew how much reward you would get in sajood you would never lift up your head.
Praying makes us humble

Salat teaches us the discipline of time, as punctuality is very important.
If you want to concentrate in the prayer, you must be aware that the prayers have been set times the Quran says.
If Zohr salat is at 1pm and your pray it at 7pm, you will never be able to concentrate in your prayers.

If you draw a Timetable from Monday to Sunday listing the five prayers, and put it on your fridge, and tick how many prayers you prayed on time, then you will notice why you are lacking concentration in salat, if you aren't ticking many.

If we pray on time Allah will help remove shaitan's whisperings.
If we have a job interview or an appointment we will make sure we turn up on time.
I am willing to be on time for creation but not my Creator.

Is my life in the hands of creation or my Creator?

When Allah says come to me at a certain time there is a secret behind it, the more you look after time the more Allah will help you with your concentration.

The Holy Prophet sometimes prayed his salat together, and sometimes separated.
Our brothers in Islam took the hard option we took the easy one, yet look at how they take their five prayers seriously. Yet we pray together and still pray it late.
Their day revolves around their salat, our salat revolves around our day.

There is an Appetiser behind any action - there has be an appetiser, and Ahlul Bayt gave us an appetiser that none of us make use of.
Imam Ali died in the appetiser of fajr not fajr itself.

A man came to 11th Imam, and said 'I am one of your Shia'. Imam said, 'Do you know what a Shia really is, do you pray 51 rakats a day?' The man replied 'No I pray 17.'

Why did Imam say 51 rakats? The 51 rakats includes the obligatory prayers, nawafil prayers and salatul layl.

Our brothers in Islam if you go to their mosques, you will see them in there before fajr praying, before zohr they are praying etc yet we only pray our obligatory prayers.

The appetisers give you the energy for your obligatory prayers.

It is like Energy boosters before salat.

Never say you are a Shia say you are trying to be a shia, as if we don't recite the appetisers and we are not even trying to, we cannot call ourselves Shia.

Imam Khomeni says that in Hadsi Kudsi, Allah says, my servant seeks my love through his nawafil. Allah says that nothing is more beloved to me from my servants than the nawafil prayers. Note Allah mentions the nawafil prayers not the obligatory ones.

If you can pray nawafil before obligatory prayers you will enjoy and look forward to the main one.
For example you eat a Starter before so you enjoy the main meal.

Nawafil prayers are a spiritual boost that can raise you to the highest level. You get this not from your wajib salat but you reach those highest levels by praying nawafil.

11th Imam said, 'A real Shia prays 51 rakats a day'.

Try at least praying nawafil before
Fajr, then before you pray Fajr you will notice your energy so high. Then tomorrow try and pray 8 rakats nawafil before Zohr.

Imam Ali was struck by the sword in his nawafil. Allah made him achieve his victory before his wajib prayer.

The 4th Imam said the right of salat on you, is that you magnify Allah through your stillness and the bowing of your head. These are two key ingredients in concentrating in your prayer.
Imam says magnify Allah through your stillness. How still can you be for five minutes?
How still would you be in front of your Lord?
For too many their head is moving during salat. A true prayer is when his head is still and his eyes are staring at his turba. And pray every prayer as though it is your last. If you had a virus and your Zohr and Asr would be your last, you would not pray the way you pray now. No you would pray with stillness and concentration.

Most important for concentrating is asking yourself, do I believe the one I am speaking to actually responds to me.
If I speak to anyone and I know they are responding to me I speak to them with passion.
I will speak to them in a way I am showing commitment.

A person who believes Allah is responding would speak very differently.

You will speak differently if you don't think anyone is listening.

Imam Ali left us with so many duas to read in sajood.
Imam Ali used to say to Allah in his sajood, 'You are as I like so make me as you like.'

Imam Ali's greatest moments came in his salat.

He was asked do you prefer to be in a Mosque praying to Allah or heaven, he replied, in a mosque praying to Allah, as he is pleased with me, whereas in heaven I am pleased with myself.
In the
Battle of Uhud he had an arrow stuck in his ankle, the Holy Prophet said take it out while he is his salat, as due to his concentration he would not feel a thing.
When he gave his ring away in rukoo to the poor man in the mosque of the Holy Prophet.

And the last greatest moment was the night of 19th
Ramadan, when Muljim came with a poisoned sword, it was Wednesday on 19th Ramadan and Imam Ali was struck while in his nawafil prayers.

The Commander of the Faithful Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him) describes the Qur’an as follows: “Then Allah(Glorified and Exalted is He) revealed to him (the Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his progeny)) the Book.

• It is a light whose radiance shall not be extinguished;
• A lamp whose flame shall not die;
• An ocean whose depth shall not be fathomed;
• A path which shall not lead astray;
• A blaze whose brilliance shall not be darkened;
• A criterion whose evidence shall not be suppressed;
• An elucidation whose cornerstones shall not be demolished;
• A cure with which there is no fear of ailments;
• A power whose supporters cannot be defeated;
• A truth whose helpers will not be forsaken.
• Thus, it is the source of faith and its prosperity;
• It is the fountain-head of knowledge and its vastness;
• The meadow of justice and its flowing streams;
• The support of Islam and its foundation;
• The valleys of the truth and its fields;
• An ocean that shall not be drained by those who draw upon it;
• A spring that shall not be exhausted by those who draw from it;
• A watering place that shall not be depleted by those who come to it;
• A station whose road the travelers do not miss;
• A signpost which the wayfarers will always see;
• The hilltops that cannot be bypassed by those who seek them.
• Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) has made it the quencher of the thirst of scholars,
• A vernal season for the hearts of the jurists,
• A destination for the path of the righteous,
• A cure after which there is no malady,
• A light which does not alternate with darkness,
• A rope whose knots are firm,
• A stronghold whose peak is impregnable.
• It is power for whoever cultivates it,
• Peace for whoever dwells on it,
• A guidance for whoever follows it,
• A laudable act for whoever embraces it,
• An argument for whoever speaks for it,
• A witness for whoever fights for it,
• A sharp instrument for whoever bases his arguments on it,
• A support for whoever supports it,
• A means of deliverance for whoever employs it,
• A sign for the discriminating, a shelter for whoever seeks healing,
• A source of knowledge for whoever has sense,
• And the best narrative for its transmitters,
• And a means for the one who sits in judgment.”

ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL

When God loves people He afflicts them. If they endure with fortitude, He chooses them. If they are grateful, He elects them. Some men and women are grateful to God for His wrathfulness and some for His graciousness. Both are good, for gratitude is the antidote for all occasions, changing wrath into grace. The wise and complete servant is grateful for harsh treatment, both publicly and in private, for with the voice of gratitude comes the inspiration to give more.

It is related that a certain Jew lived next door to one of the Companions. This Jew lived in an upper room, from which all kinds of dirt and filth, the piddle of his children, the water his clothes were washed in, fell into the Muslim’s apartment below. Yet the Muslim always thanked the Jew, and instructed his family to do the same. For eight years this continued, until the Muslim died. Then the Jew, while visiting the Muslim’s apartment, to condole with the family, saw all the filth and how it came from his upper room. He realized what had happened during the past years, and was filled with sorrow. He said to the Muslim’s household, “Why on earth didn’t you tell me? Why did you always thank me?” They replied, “Our father told us to always be grateful, and chided us if we ever gave up being grateful.” So the Jew became a believer.

What is Liability Insurance for Small Business?
Liability insurance is an insurance cover that protects small businesses from lawsuits and legal actions against the company taken by customers, visitors, or vendors. This insurance cover can be used when a customer or vendor files a lawsuit against your business for any bodily harm caused while being in your premises. Liability business insurance is typically sorted out in three types namely; general liability insurance for small business, professional liability insurance, and product liability insurance. Out of the three, the most commonly used is the general liability insurance for small businesses.

General Liability Insurance for Small Businesses

This kind of insurance is also referred to as the Commercial General Liability (CGL) insurance. General liability insurance for small business is normally purchased in the standard business owner's policy package; however, it can be obtained separately as well. It is very important for the company to be protected from legalities of physical injury claims, advertising claims, and even property damage. Most importantly, the general liability insurance for small business cost has to considered while registering for the policy.

If there is a lawsuit filed by any individual against the firm, the insurance company will surely cover the prescribed expenses, but the business will have to pay for other miscellaneous expenses. Suppose the total general insurance cover is $1 million, and the client sues the business for $1.5 million, the firm will have to incur the remaining $500,000. So, it is very important to consider how much general liability insurance coverage you take. To prevent you paying the additional amounts, it is suggested that you choose the umbrella liability insurance which provides a complete protection.

Product Liability Insurance for Small Businesses

If you are thinking about liability insurance for crafters, the product liability insurance is most appropriate. This is an insurance which is very necessary for carrying out a manufacturing business. It protects the small business from any lawsuits filed if its products cause bodily harm to or death of a customer. This insurance will also serve as a cover in case the customer files a lawsuit for manufacturing defective products.

Professional Liability Insurance for Small Businesses
Professional liability insurance has to be considered by dentists, doctors, insurance agents, architects, and several similar professionals. It protects the businesses of these professionals from lawsuits due to negligence, omission, and errors. This insurance also has a provision for situations like slander, violation of contract, and libels. Similarly, liability insurance for daycare should be thought of for being protected against the lawsuits due to improper care of children. And same goes for liability insurance for massage therapy centers as well.

To get the best general liability insurance for small business rates, it is suggested to compare quotes from various service providers and choose the most suitable one. When it comes to a contracting business, general contractor liability insurance helps protect from contractual liability and lawsuits filed. Note that liability insurance costs and premiums will be determined by the insurance companies considering factors such as the number of employees, clients, annual sales, etc. This is some general information on general liability insurance for small business, product liability insurance, and professional liability insurance.

Rabiaah Ibn Kaab reports: “Once, the Noble Prophet (sa) said to me: “O' Rabiaah! You have been serving me for seven years and therefore, will you not ask for something from me in order that I grant it to you?”

“O' Prophet of Allah! Grant me some time in order that I may reflect over the matter,” I requested. The next day, when I had arrived in his presence, the Prophet (sa) said: “O' Rabi'ah! Speak out your wish.”

“Pray to Allah that He makes me enter Paradise along with you!” I said.

Hearing this request, he inquired, “Who is it that has taught you to seek this from me?”

“No one has taught it to me. I considered that if I sought great wealth, it would eventually get exhausted; if I sought a long life and numerous children, the ultimate eventuality would be death; hence, as a result of this contemplation, I eventually opted for this request,” I replied.

The Noble Prophet (sa) lowered his head for a few moments as he deliberated, after which, raising his head, he said: “I shall seek your wish from Allah, but you must help me too (in this matter) by prostrating excessively.”

During the time of one of the prophets, there lived a lady who had a son who was in his youth and whom she loved dearly. As divine decree would have it, the son died leaving the mother greatly aggrieved and immensely disturbed. She was in such a state that her relatives approached the prophet of the time and sought his help.

When he came to the mother, the prophet found her in a state of sorrow and agitation and was weeping. His eyes then fell upon a pigeon-nest nearby. He turned to the lady and asked: “O' Lady! Is this a pigeon-nest?”

The lady replied that it was.

“Do the pigeons give birth to their young ones?” asked the prophet.

“Yes.”

“Do all the young ones grow up to be able to fly?”

“No, we kill some of them for their flesh,” said the lady.

The prophet continued, “And despite this, these pigeons do not abandon their nest?”

“No, they do not move away to another place,” replied the lady.

The prophet then advised, “O' Lady! Be apprehensive lest you be worse off than these pigeons in the eyes of your Lord. These pigeons, despite the fact that you kill and eat their young ones in front of their eyes, do not turn away from you. Whereas you, as a result of losing just one son, have directed your anger towards Allah, turned away from Him, exhibited all this agitation, and uttered things that are inappropriate.”

Hearing these words, her tears ceased and she never displayed impatience and discontent thenceforth.

When Abu Sufiyan, the chief of the polytheists of Makkah, saw the ten thousand strong army of Islam (during the conquest of Makkah), he was filled with awe and astonishment. As he walked beside the battalions of the Noble Prophet (sa), he murmured: “I wish I knew why Muhammad became victorious over me. How did he manage to gather for himself such a powerful army despite being alone and without support in Makkah?”

The Noble Prophet (sa) overheard him. “We became victorious over you by Allah's assistance!” he said, placing his hand upon Abu Sufiyan's shoulder.

In the battle of Hunain, when the enemy suddenly and unsuspectingly attacked the forces of Islam, chaos reigned supreme within the Muslim ranks. When the Noble Prophet (sa) watched this state of the Muslim army, he sought Allah's help by placing his trust in Him, and supplicated: 'O' Lord! All praise and thanks only belong to You. I place my complaint (regarding the state of affairs) before You and it is only You from whom help and assistance ought to be sought.'

At that moment, Jibra`il descended from the heavens and said to him: “O' Prophet of Allah! You have recited a supplication which Musa (as) had recited when the sea had split for him and he was granted deliverance from the evils of Firaawn.”[19]
