'DHIKAR' OF THE PERFECT ONE IN THE EYES OF ALLAH (S.T.) | for everyone |
The expulsion of self-conceit comes through glorifying the Almighty and recognizing our own humble status. With every Dhikr of the Perfect One that we recite, we acknowledge our own imperfection and beg His help in lessening our faults and in getting nearer to Him.
The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) has told us, "God Almighty said: 'When I find a servant sincerely engaged in my invocation...and if occasionally negligence dominates over him, I prevent such occurrence. These are my real saints and heroes. If I want to annihilate all the earthly creations, it is because of their distinguished existence that my punishment does not descend towards earth."
HADEES | for everyone |
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (peace be upon him) said:
"The Almighty says, 'Verily, from among my servants is one who asks Me to enable him to perform an act of obedience so that He may obtain My love, but I prevent him from it so that he may not become arrogant over his good deed.'"

TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL MARRIAGE | for everyone |
• Always maintain respect. Never use disrespectful words or tones.
• Never use profanity and never curse your spouse.
• Husbands, be especially patient with your wife during her monthly cycle.
• Regularly and consistently do recreational activities together.
• Set aside special time at night for your spouse.
• Set aside time (at least one or two times a week) to talk and explain what is going on and to share any news of joy or to exhale frustrations.
• Never argue in public, or in the presence of others.
• Encourage your spouse to beautify themselves at home. Often we get dressed up, and look nice and extra sharp to go out, or to attend an event, but we don't do the same things at home. Having good appearance for your spouse, especially within the home should be encouraged, and praised. ; ;
• It is important to understand that beautification for your spouse is mutual for men and women.
• Husbands, occasionally give gifts to your wife.
• Husbands, occasionally give money to your wife.
• Teach patience, by having patience when situations become difficult.
• There is no shame in apologizing, teach this by doing this.
• Upon the entrance door of your home or residence, put ''Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim" In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
• Husbands should recite the Adhan and or Quran loudly in the home.
• If a man visits a friend who is married but they have a wife who is not good, do not take your wife with you.
• Always try hard and put forth effort in getting to get to know and understand your spouse.
• Husbands, recognize that the language of kindness and feeling is stronger than the language of force.
• How would you treat a flower? Give it water, sunlight, be gentle with its frailty, and just take time to smell the roses. Recognize their beauty and do not allow them to be damaged. Treat your wife like a flower.
• Spending time with your wife is a type of worship, and has the blessings of performing ''I'etikaf'' (fasting while staying in a mosque) in Masjid Al-Nabi (The Masjid of the Prophet).
• Show kindness and love. Actual demonstration is more important than just having feeling in your heart.
• Do not expect your spouse to change their flaws overnight; some things need more time than others.
• Try to focus and reflect on our own faults and flaws, and ways to self-improve.
• Tell your spouse you love and care for them, verbally.
• There are few or no perfect marriages from the very beginning, and when you are having difficulties don't allow Satan to whisper into your heart and tell you that the grass is always greener on the other side or that you are perfect and all the problems come from your spouse. Satan likes to divide and conquer by saying things such as 'if you were with someone else you would not have this problem but the reality of the matter is that while that may or may not be true, everyone who is not a sinless saint will certainly have their fare share of flaws and problems. And moreover, a perfect marriage entails a mutually perfect effort. And most importantly always, always make dua and pray for Allah to place compassion, mercy and love between you and your spouse and to help you to grow strong together in the immaculate faith of Islam. Remember, rely oh Allah. He is Almighty.

Among the good fortunes of a man is to have a good wife.,,,,,,, | for everyone |
The Holy Prophet (SAW) states:
"O youths, whosoever among you can marry, he should do so because marriage protects your eyes (from indulging in sin by looking lustfully at others in privacy."
(Makaarimul Akhlaq).
Imam Sadiq (AS) narrates that one day the Holy Prophet (SAW) went on the pulpit and said,
"O people, Jibraeel has brought unto me a divine command stating that girls are like fruits from a tree. If they are not plucked in time then they get rotten by the rays of the sun and a slight blow of the wind will result in their falling down from the tree. Similarly, when girls attain maturity, then like other women they develop emotions related to sex and there is no cure for it except her husband. If they are not married, prevention of character corruption becomes a remote possibility because after all they are human beings and no human is free from vice."
(Furoo-e-Kafi, Vol 5, Pg 337).
In yet another tradition from Mustadrakul Wasail it is narrated that
"When a youngster marries early in his youth, Shaitaan cries out of desperation and says, Alas! This person has protected one third of his religion, now he will protect the remaining two thirds also."
Imam Sadiq (as) narrates from the Holy Prophet (saww) that he said,
"Those believers who marry, protect half of their religion from danger."
In yet another tradition, Imam Sadiq (as) says,
"Two Rak'as of a married person is better than seventy Rak'as of an unmarried one."
(Wasailush Shia, Vol 5, Pg 1)
The Holy Prophet (saww) once said,
"Whoever marries, protects half of his religion, then for the remaining half he must only fear God."
(La'alil Akhbar).
The sixth Imam, Imam Sadiq (as) says,
"A sleeping married man is better than a fasting unmarried man."
(La'alil Akhbar).
The Messenger of Islam (saww) said,
"Do not marry a woman for the following four reasons: Wealth, beauty, ancestry and lust. It is obligatory upon you to marry a woman on account of her religion."
(Jaame ul Akhbar).
In yet another tradition, the Messenger of Islam (SAW) has prohibited his followers from marrying a beautiful woman from a disgraceful background.
(Bihar ul Anwar, Vol 23, Pg 54).
To get a good, modest and chaste spouse is among the good fortunes of a person according to the leaders of Islam and is also considered as one of the sources by which the religion of a person can be protected. They have conveyed this message quite often that the worship of a married person is much more significant and important before Allah than that of a bachelor or a spinster.
The Holy Prophet (SAW) says:
"Among the good fortunes of a man is to have a good wife."

TASBEEH BIBI FATEMA ZEHRA (S.A.) AS THOUGHT BY THE HOLY PROPHET (S.A.W.S.) | for everyone |
It is reported in Bihar that Ali (A.S.) said to a man from Bani Sae'ed:
"Should I speak to you about Fatima and Myself?
She was my spouse who was the most beloved to the Prophet. Once, she carried water using a waterskin until it scarred her chest, she ground (grain) using a hand mill until blisters appeared on her hands, she swept the floor until her clothes became dusty and lit the fire under the cooking pot until her clothes became mud colored from the smoke.
'Why don't ask your father for a servant to relieve you form these jobs?'"
The Prophet (P.B.U.H.) upon hearing this, said:
'Shall I teach you something that is better for you than a servant
and a world with everything in it? After every prayer say: Allahu Akbar thirty four (34) times, Alhamdulillah thirty three (33) times and Subhan Allah thirty three (33) times then conclude that with la illaha ila Allah. Surely this is better for you than that which you wanted and the world and its belongings.'
Thus, Fatima adhered to this glorification after every prayer; and it came to be known as 'Tasbih Fatima.'
'Abu Haroun, surely we command our children to adhere to 'Tasbih Fatima' the same way we command them to perform prayers. So perform the tasbih, for whoever adheres to it shall never be miserable.'"
In reference to Fatima's beads, it was reported in Makarim al-Akhlaq that it was made of woven wool threads which had knots by the number of Takbir (Allahu Akbar), until when Hamza Ibn Abdal Muttalib (A.S.) was martyred, she made them from the mud of his grave.
Since the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S.), people have been using the mud surrounding his tomb for making beads for the great blessings, which lie in it.
Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said: "Beads should be made with blue thread and thirty four (34) beads, which was the way Fatima's beads were made after Hamza's martyrdom."
There are various narrations, which were reported about "Tasbih Fatima's" importance and order. Yet, the most famous order on which our jurisprudents agree is to start with Allahu Akbar, then Subhan Allah, and end with Al-Hamdulillah.
When we review the aforementioned narrations, it becomes clear that Lady Fatima Zahra (A.S.) performed her housework by herself, despite her honor and nobility, and that Ali (A.S.) helped her to do the housework.
It has been reported in Bihar that Imam Ali (A.S.) said:
"Once, the Messenger of Allah came to us while Fatima was
sitting and I was cleaning some lentils; when the Prophet saw us he said:
'Abu Al-Hassan!'
I said: 'At your service! O Messenger of Allah!'
He then said: 'Listen to me, for I say not save that which is the word of Lord: There is not a man who helps his wife in her housework, save that with very hair on his body a whole year of worship-during which he fasted the days and kept up the nights in prayer is counted for him....'
Fatima was inflicted by great pain as a result of this, so I said to her:
'Why don't you ask your father for a servant to relieve you from these jobs?'
When Fatima (A.S.) went to the Prophet she found that he had company; and was too shy to talk to him, so she left the house. But the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) knew that she had come for something."
Imam Ali (A.S.) continued:
"The next morning, the Prophet came to the house while we were still under our quilt and said:
'Assalamu Alaikum!'
Yet because we were ashamed (of being under the quilt), we preferred to remain silent.
The Prophet once again said:
'Assalamu Alaikum!'
Once again we remained silent. Then for the third time the
Prophet said 'Assalamu Alaikum'. Now we feared that he would depart, for it was the prophet's habit to say Assalamu alaikum three times and then wait for permission to enter or leave.
So I said:
'Wa Alaik As-Salam, Messenger of Allah! Come in.'
He (P.B.U.H.) sat near our heads and said: 'Fatima, what was your need when you came to Muhammad yesterday?'
Imam Ali added: "I was afraid that she (Fatima) would not tell him, so I pulled my head from under the cover and said:
"I will inform you, Messenger of Allah!
Surely she carried water using a water skin until her chest was scarred, she ground (grain) using a hand mill until blisters appeared on her hands, she swept the floor until her clothes became dusty and lit the fire under the cooling pot until her clothes were mud colored from the smoke. So 1 said to he:

THE KNOWLEDGE OF BIBI FATEMA ZEHRA (S.A.) | for everyone |
The Messenger's admiration of Fatima's stands regarding women:
A. Abu Nu'aym reports in Hilyat al-Awliya v.2. p.40, that Anas Ibn Malik said:
"The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) asked: 'What is best for women?' We did not know how to answer the Prophet, so Ali (A.S.) asked Fatima about the Prophet's question.
Fatima answered: 'It is best for them not to see men and not to let men see them.'
Ali returned to Allah's Messenger and conveyed Fatima's answer to him. When the Prophet had heard the answer, he said:
'Surely she has spoken the truth, for she is part of me.'
B. Ibn al-Maghazili mentions in his book Manaqib that Ali Ibn al-Hussain Ibn Ali (A.S.) said:
"Once a blind man asked for permission to enter Fatima's house, but she kept a veil between them. The Messenger of Allah noticed her actions and asked:
'Why did you keep a veil between you when he can not see you?'
Fatima (A.S.) answered: 'Messenger of Allah, it is true that he cannot see me, but I can see him and he can smell my fragrance.'
At this, the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) said: 'I bear witness that you are part of me.'
In addition to these narrations, many prayers and supplica¬tions have been reported on Lady Fatima's account; among them is the famous supplication for the relief of fever and headaches. This supplication is mentioned below as an example of Fatima's prayers.
Fatima (A.S.) taught the following supplication to Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) and said to him:
"If it pleases you not to be inflicted with fever as long as you live in this world, then read these words, which my father, Muhammad, taught me and I say every morning and evening:
'In the name of Allah, the Most
Beneficent, Most Merciful
In the Name of Allah the light;
In the Name of Allah the light of light
In the Name of Allah, light upon light
In the Name of Allah, the planner of affairs
In the Name of Allah, Who created light from light
And
Revealed light upon the Turr
By a decree inscribed
In a scroll unfolded
According to a decree fore-ordained
Unto a Learned Prophet
Praise be to Allah, Who is known with Might
Whose Glory is established
Who is praised during times of prosperity and infliction
And may Allah's grace be upon our Master, Muhammad
And his purified progeny'
Salman later said:
"By Allah, I have taught this supplication to more than a thousand souls in Mecca and Medina who were inflicted with fever, and they were all relieved by the will of Allah."
Ibn Tawoos (may Allah bless his soul) wrote in his book Muhaj Ad-Da'awat, that Allah's Messenger (P.B.U.H.) taught Fatima the following supplication:
'O Allah, Our Lord and the Lord of Everything
(He) Who revealed Tawr?t, Injeel and Furqan (Quran)
(He) Who causes the seed-grain and the date-stone to split and sprout
I seek refuge in You from every beast that you shall
seize by its forelock
Surely You are the First, where nothing has succeeded (You)
And the last, where nothing shall come after (You)
You are the Evident, there is nothing more Manifest than You
And the Eminent, there is nothing more Eminent than You
Send your grace upon Muhammad and his Ahlul-Bayt
May Peace be upon them
And settle my debts for me
Make me free from poverty
And decree easy for me all my affairs
O You! Most Merciful of all'
Had Fatima Zahra (A.S.) been given the chance to manifest her knowledge and had she lived for fifty or sixty years, we would have been able to inherit a treasury of knowledge and information pertaining to various subjects and sciences. Unfortunately, Fatima (A.S.) was neither given the chance to teach us, nor did she live more than twenty years-as we know.

Meanwhile, Fatima (A.S.) was speaking to her father with a crying voice and saying:

Allah's Messenger then said:
"Daughter, I am leaving you;

Cursed is the person who oppresses her;
Cursed is he who usurps her right;
Cursed is he who violates her sanctity..."
The Prophet then embraced Fatima (A.S.), kissed her hand and said:
"May your father be your sacrifice, Fatima."
At that moment, the Messenger of Allah was putting his head on Ali's chest; but his love for Fatima kept driving him to embrace and kiss her repeatedly. He cried until his tears made his beard and shirt wet.
Imam Hassan and Imam Hussain (A.S.) began crying and kissing his feet; when Imam Ali (A.S.) tried to separate them, the
Prophet said:
"Let them smell me and let me smell them;
Let them be near me, surely they will be afflicted with sorrows and difficult problems after me. May Allah curse him who abuses them.'

YOU WILL BE THE FIRST ONE TO FOLLOW ME FROM AMONG MY AHLUL-BAYT | for everyone |
It was natural for the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) who knew and foretold the future events, to reveal to his family, especially his beloved daughter Fatima (A.S.), the events which they would face in the future. He (P.B.U.H.) undoubtedly informed Fatima (A.S.) that she was going to suffer from the harsh treatment of some so called Muslims after his death and that she would be the first to follow him to the blessings of Paradise after his departure.
There are many traditions reported to this effect; the following are just a few samples:
1. Bihar v.10: Sheikh Mufeed is quoted as writing in his book Al-Amali that Abdullah Ibn Abbas said:
"When Allah's Messenger was on his deathbed, he cried until tears overtook his beard.
So was asked:
'What makes you cry, Messenger of Allah?'
The Prophet answered: 'I am crying for my progeny, for the crimes that will be committed against them by the evildoers of my nation after my death. It is as if I (can see) my daughter, Fatima, being oppressed and crying: "O Father!" But no one will come to help her among my Ummah.'
Fatima (A.S.) began weeping when she heard this, so the Prophet said to her:
'Do not cry my daughter'
She said: 'I am not crying because of that which will be done to me after you; rather, I am crying because I will be separated from you, Messenger of Allah

Imam Ali (A.S.) quoted Fatima as saying:
"The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said: 'Fatima, he who praises you, will be forgiven by Allah; Who will make him my companion where ever in Paradise I may be."
"Once, Ali (A.S.) was inflicted with hardship; so Fatima (A.S.) knocked on the Messenger of Allah's door, who said:
'I hear the movement of my beloved one near the door, Umme Ayman get up and see!'
Umme Ayman opened the door and Fatima entered the house.
The Prophet then said: 'You have come to us at a time that you have not previously come!'
Fatima said: 'Messenger of Allah, what is the angels food near our Lord?'
The Messenger of Allah said: 'By Him Who holds my soul in His hand, fire has not been lit (in our house) for a whole month; yet, I will teach you five statements which Gabriel taught me.'
She (A.S.) said: 'Messenger of Allah, what are these five statements?'
The Prophet (P.B.U.H.) said:
'O Lord of the First and Last;
O You Possessor of Might, and Strength;
O You Who is Merciful with the poor;
O You most Beneficent, most Merciful. "'
(Note: It appears as if the fifth statement has been mistakenly erased.)
Thereafter Fatima returned and Ali (A.S.) saw her and exclaimed:
"May my father and mother be your sacrifice, Fatima; what have you to tell me?"
She said: "I went seeking worldly things, but have returned (with the goodness of) the hereafter."
5. Bihar v.10: It is reported in Al-Kafi that Imam Sadiq (A.S.) said:
'Once, Fatima approached Allah's Messenger with a problem. The Prophet listened to her problem and gave her a wrapped piece of material and said: 'Learn that which is written in it.' (When she opened it) she found written in it:
"He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, shall not harm his neighbor."
"He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, shall honor his guest."
"He who believes in Allah and the Last Day shall say that which is useful or keep silent.'"

GREETINGS TO THE HOLY HOUSEHOLD................. | for everyone |
Bihar v.10:
Yazid Ibn Abdulmalik (Nawfali) quoted his father, who quoted his grandfather as saying: "Once, I entered the house of Fatima
(A.S.) who was the first to greet me; she then said:
'What brings you here?'
I said: "I have come in search of blessing."
Fatima then said: "My father (who was present) said: 'He who greets him or me for three consecutive days, will be granted Paradise by Allah.'
I said: 'While you are living?"
She answered: 'yes, and after we are dead.'"

KNOWLEDGE OF BIBI FATEMA ZEHRA (S.A.) | for everyone |
Among the narrations reported on Fatima's account are:
1. Bihar, Chapter: Knowledge.
Imam Askari (A.S.) said: "A woman came to Fatima Zahra (A.S.) and said: 'I have a weak mother who has become confused about a matter related to her prayer; she sent me to inquire from you about it.'
Fatima Zahra (A.S.) answered her; the woman repeatedly came with questions for Fatima, and she (A.S.) kindly answered her every time. One day the lady again approached Fatima (A.S.) with another question from her mother and said to Fatima:
'I shall not inconvenience you (any more), daughter of Allah's Messenger.'
Fatima replied:'Ask me regarding anything, which comes to your mind.Because if a man had been hired to transport a heavy load to the
top of a mountain for a reward of one thousand dinars, do you think it would bother him?'
The woman said: 'No'
Fatima continued: 'My reward for (answering) every inquiry is more than that which fills (the space) between the ground and the Throne with pearls; thus, I should be more apt to answer your questions. Surely I heard my father say:
'When the scholars of our Shiite (followers) are gathered (on the Day of Resurrection), they will be bestowed with garments of honor equal in quantity to their knowledge and struggle to guide Allah's worshippers, up to the point that anyone of them will be gifted with one million garments of light.' Then the caller of our Exalted and Glorified Lord will say:
'O you guardians of the orphans of Muhammad. (You) who inspire them when they are separated from their fathers, who are their Imams; these are your pupils and the orphans whom you guarded and inspired, therefore bestow them with garments of knowledge in life. Thus, they will bestow each orphan with that which corresponds to the amount of knowledge he received from them (the scholars); up to the point that some orphans are bestowed with one million garments. Like-so, the orphans bestow those who learnt from them.'
Fatima (A.S.) then added:
'Worshipper of Allah, surely a thread of those garments is better than that on which the sun rises. "'

Top Shia Ayatollah Severely Condemned Top Saudi Sunni Mufti's Anti-Shia Statements
|
(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi has written an open letter to Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Abdul-Azeez ibn Abdullaah Aal ash-Shaikh, criticizing him for slandering Shia Muslims and practicing takfir, which means accusing other Muslims of being unbelievers.
Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, who is based in Qom, is one of the most prominent Shia clerics in the world and is a marja taqlid, which is a high-ranking Shia cleric who is regarded as a source of emulation.
In his letter, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi stated that vilifying Muslims and practicing takfir best serves the interests of the enemies of Islam, particularly the United States and Israel.
In your recent remarks, which do not befit scholars, you have called Shias the “enemies of Muslims” and have called on other Muslims to distance themselves from them, the letter read.
Senior cleric in his letter reminded the Arab mufti of the teachings of holy Qur'an wondering, "How can you forget teachings of Qur'an where it recommends a polite way for inviting people to God while you have chosen stigmatization, lying and disrespecting Shia?"
This is not the first time that Wahhabi scholars have sown the seeds of discord and delighted the enemies through making irrational statements, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi added.
“You, the Wahhabi grand mufti, have forgotten that if it had not been for Shia Muslims in Iran and Lebanon, Israel and the United States would have gained domination over the entire Middle East. And it is not clear where your muftis were and what they were doing at the time,” he wrote.
“When Israel was massacring Muslims in Gaza, most of whom were Sunni, Shias in Iran and other places supported them (the Gazan Muslims), and if it had not been for their support, Israel would have continued (committing) atrocities,” he noted.
Professor of Qom Seminary also said if meetings had been held between Shia and Wahhabi scholars, some misunderstandings and referential mistakes would be discussed so that Muslim unity would not be targeted.
“It would be better if we extend the hand of friendship to each other and think about the progress and dignity of Islam and Muslims,” he added.
Elsewhere in his letter, Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi stated, “The enemies of Islam want sectarian strife and want war to break out among Muslims so that they can exploit the rich resources of the region.”

SAWAB OF 70 ZIKR............... | for everyone |
It has been narrated from Imame Zamana (a.t.f.s.),
“ One who just holds the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Husain (as) and does not do any Zikr, even then for him will be written the reward of having recited the Azkaar” (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1033)
Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) says :
“One zikr or Isteghfaar recited on the Tasbeeh made out of the soil of the grave of Imam Husain (as) is equal to 70 such zikr recited on any other thing.” (Wasaaelush Shia Vol 4, Pg. 1033)
Some noteworthy points:
1. One of the conditions of worship, rather the most important of them all, is being attentive in its performance. This is specially so in the recitation of Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.).
2. There should be continuity in the recitation of the Tasbeeh without any interruptions. This has been the practice of our holy Imams (a.s.) (Al- Kaafi, Kitaabus Salaat, Pg. 343 )
1. In case one has a doubt regarding the number of Azkaar that he has recited, then he should start again. This is according to a tradition from Imam Sadiq (a.s.) (Al- Kaafi, Kitaabus Salaat, Pg. 342 )
Thus, by the grace of Allah and the blessings of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) , we have come to realize the importance of reciting Tasbeeh of Hazrat Zahra (s.a.) and its merits. We pray to Allah to grant us the Taufeeq that we may be regular in its recitation.

ABANDON BOTH IMPATIENCE AND DESPONDENCY | for everyone |
Aqil son of Abu Talib did well when he solaced Abu Tharr who was banished to the Rabatha desert. Ali ('a), both al-Hasan ('a) and al-Husain ('a), as well as Aqil went out to bid Abu Tharr farewell. In order to offer solace to him,
Aqil said to him, 'If you plead for exemption from the affliction, it will be a sign of impatience. If you consider its removal to have been too slow, it is a sign of despondency. Abandon both impatience and despondency and say, 'Suffices us Allah, and how good He is for help!.’ (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 22, p. 436).
'Since you are patient with regard to the five prayers, I shall regard them equivalent to fifty. | for everyone |
Salman the Persian (ra) who was afflicted by the Jews beating him and saying, 'Why do not you call upon Allah, Muhammad and Ali to speed up our perdition and thus save you from our hands?!’ He kept saying to them, 'Patience is better. I rather plead to Allah to grant me patience, perhaps Allah will get out of your loins someone who will believe in Islam. If I implore Him to annihilate you all, such a believer will never come into being.’ He did not curse them. This went on till the veil between him and the Messenger of Allah ('a) was removed.
The Prophet ('s) ordered him to implore Allah against them, telling him that they would never produce a believer, as we read on p. 68 of the tafs’r work by Imam al-`Askari ('a).
The case in the tafs’r work by Imam al-`Askari ('a) occurs in the explanation of the verse about 'those who believe in the unknown’ (Qur’an, 2:3). Anyone who likes may refer to it, for it is a timeless wonder. Nobody should find the case of Salman the Persian (ra) hard to believe because nobody should wonder about a man who emulated his masters so much that they told him he was one of them, Ahl al-Bayt ('a).
In the same category falls the case of the mi`raj. The Prophet ('s) was required to perform fifty prayers, and he did not implore his Lord to reduce their number till prophet Moses ('a) suggested to him to do that. He kept imploring Him to decrease their number till their number was reduced to five. Moses asked him why he did not implore Him to reduce their number any more, whereupon he ('a) said to him, 'I am too shy because of imploring Him so many times.’
It was then that Allah inspired to him that 'Since you are patient with regard to the five prayers, I shall regard them equivalent to fifty.’ (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 18, p. 348 with a variation of wording).

GREATEST CALAMAITY AND CATASTROPHE - A MUSLIM SEEING HIS BELIEVING BROTHER IN NEED WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO HELP HIM | for everyone |
Imam Ali ('a) son of Imam al-Husain ('a). One of his Shi`ah complained to him of want. The Imam ('a) wept because of feeling so deeply for the man. The man asked the Imam ('a), 'Master! Is not weeping spared for major calamities and catastrophes?!’
The Imam ('a) answered him by saying, 'What calamity and what catastrophe is greater than a Muslim seeing his believing Brother in need without being able to help him?’
That Shi`ah man came out of the Imam’s meeting place puzzled. Then he heard that the enemies of Ahl al-Bayt ('a) were saying, 'How strange these folks are! Once they claim that the heavens and the earth obey them, and that everything is at their disposal, and once they are unable to provide their own Shi`ah with the least amount of help!’ The same poor man went back to the Imam and said, 'My calamity of hearing what these enemies of Ahl al-Bayt ('a) have been saying is much greater than my poverty and extreme want.’ The Imam ('a) said,
'Woe unto them! Do they not know that Allah has friends who do not provide Him with suggestions?! O servant of Allah! Allah has permitted an ease for you from your hardship.’
The Imam ('a) gave him food for his iftar as well as suhur. Thus, Allah swiftly removed his hardship, granting him a very large pearl which the man found inside the belly of a fish; he sold it for a large sum of money. The man returned both bread loaves to the Imam ('a) (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 46, p. 20 with a variation of wording).

IN EACH AND EVERY DECREE OF ALLAH (S.T.) THERE IS SOMETHING GOOD FOR THE BELIEVER | for everyone |
The Messenger of Allah ('a) has also said, 'In each and every decree of Allah, the most Exalted and the most Great, there is something good for the believer.’ (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. 68, p. 139).
'Allah obliterates whatever He pleases, and He fixes whatever He pleases, and He has with Him the Mother Book.
'Allah obliterates whatever He pleases, and He fixes whatever He pleases, and He has with Him the Mother Book.
’ When a fateful decree approaches a servant of Alah, it comes inclusively, that is, it may include a blessing in it, or it may include a condemnation, or it may appear to be a sort of trial and punishment. If the worshipper thinks well of his Lord, becomes optimistic and decides to accept his destiny, Allah will change what outwardly looks like a wrath into a blessing, reversing the situation, and vice versa.
Because of thinking ill of his Master, limited acceptance of destiny and intense anger because of the sources of trials and tribulation, a servant of Allah brings upon himself one affliction after another, turning the blessing upon him into Divine wrath and affliction.
Imam al-Rida ('a), as we read in Al-Jawahir al-Saniyyah, cites his father citing his ancestor saying that the Messenger of Allah ('a) said that Allah revealed to one of His prophets to 'Tell so-and-so the king that I shall cause him to die on such-and-such [date].’ The prophet went and informed him. On his bed, the king kept supplicating to Allah till he fell from his bed saying, 'Lord! Postpone my death till my son grows up, then take my soul away.’ Allah revealed to that prophet to tell that king that He agreed to postpone his death and add fifteen years to his life-span. The prophet said, 'Lord! You know that I have never told a lie.’ Allah Almighty inspired to him saying, 'You are to follow My orders.’ The prophet did, indeed, convey this message to the king, and Allah is never questioned about what He does, as we read on p. 123 of Al-Jawahir al-Saniyyah.
There is no doubt that keeping Allah, the most Exalted and the most Great, in mind, seeking refuge with Him, thinking well of Him, initiating an undertaking with offering charity, supplication and joining the ties of kinship..., all this certainly causes a change in one’s destiny.
