A smile is the light in the window of your face that tells people you're at home.

The world always looks brighter from behind a smile.

Life is like a mirror, we get the best results when we smile at it.
All the statistics in the world can't measure the warmth of a smile.

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

 Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (A.S.) said:

“If a person observing fast is present among those who are eating, the parts of his body glorify Allāh (s.w.t.) and angels send salutations and seek peace for that person and the salutations of angels is forgiveness.”

Acts that prove beneficial during death

Fasting on the 24th of Rajab carries great reward (Sawab). One of it's merits is that when the Angel of death comes to remove his spirit (Rooh), he comes in the form of a handsome youth carrying a bowl of the pure drink (Sharabe Tahoora) and offers him to drink. The dying person does so and dies in peace.

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Salam Alikum Dear Believers,

The Imam Mahdi Association of Marjaeya would like to send its condolences on the martyrdom of Imam Musa al-Kadhim (as).

The Holy Imam Musa al-Kadhim is the Seventh Apostolic Imam. His epithet was Abu 'l-Hasan and his famous title was al-Kadhim. His matchless devotion and worship of God has also earned him the title of "al-'Abdu's-Salih" (virtuous slave of God). Generosity was synonymous with his name and no beggar ever returned from his door empty handed. Even after his death, he continued to be obliging and was generous to his devotees who came to his holy tomb with prayers and behests which were invariably granted by God.
Thus, one of his additional titles is also "Babu'l-Hawaij" (the door to fulfilling needs).

Imam Musa al-Kadhim lived under the most crucial times in the regimes of the despotic `Abbasid kings who were marked for their tyrannical and cruel administration. He witnessed the reigns of al-Mansur ad-Dawaniqi, al-Mahdi and Harun ar-Rashid. al-Mansur and Harun ar-Rashid were the despotic kings who put a multitude of innocent descendants of the Holy Prophet to the sword.

His kind and generous attitude towards the people was such that he used to patronize and help the poor and destitute of Medina and provide for them cash, food, clothes and other necessities of sustenance secretly. It continued to be a riddle for the receivers of gifts throughout the Imam's lifetime as to who their benefactor was, but the secret was not revealed until after his death.

Time and circumstances did not permit the Holy Imam Musa al-Kadhim to establish institutions to impart religious knowledge to his followers as his father, Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq and his grandfather, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir had done. He was never allowed to address a congregation. He carried on his mission of preaching and guiding people quietly.

The Holy Imam was saved from the tyranny of al-Mansur because the king, being occupied with his project of constructing the new city of Baghdad, could not get time to turn towards victimizing the Imam. By 157 AH the city of Baghdad was built. This was soon followed by the death of its founder a year later. After al-Mansur, his son al-Mahdi ascended the throne. For a few years he remained indifferent towards the Imam. When in 164 AH he came to Medina and heard about the great reputation of the Imam, he could not resist his jealousy and the spark of his ancestral malice against the Ahlu'l-bayt was rekindled. He somehow managed to take the Imam along with him to Baghdad and got him imprisoned there. But after a year he realized his mistake and released the Imam from jail. al-Mahdi was succeeded by al-Hadi who lived only for a year. Now, in 170 AH, the most cruel and tyrannical king Harun ar-Rashid appeared at the head of the `Abbasid Empire. It was during his reign that the Holy Imam passed the greater part of his life in a miserable prison till he was poisoned.

Paradise Described By The Ever truthful Amirul Momineen (a.s.)

Ali (a.s.) says in one of his sermons in Nahjul Balagha: "(O Lord I believe You are pure and clean of all those things which are not be fitting Your greatness. You are the Creator of all the creation and You are, in the sight of Your creation, the Owner of all secrets (Maknoonaat) concerning nice taste. Accordingly You have created a place named Bihisht (paradise).

There in You have provided, for Your guests, all nicities of feasts and of dining and beautiful hoories and handsome lad servants and highly comfortable apartments, extremely pure and clean springs and rivers of tasty drinks and green fields and gardens and delicious fruits. Then You raised Your representative Muhammad Mustafa (s.a.w.s.) who goes on inviting people to the said paradise of lasting pleasures.

So (it was the ill luck of mankind that) they neither responded to the true caller towards Truth nor did they incline towards the things You called them to nor did they like what You desired them to like and long for. On the contrary, they remained stick to fraudlent and dead world as a result of which they became disgraced. They befriended one another on the basis of their connection with this valueless world. So whoever befriended this untrustworthy world and became mad after it, became totally blind, so blind that he does not understand what is a detriment and a loss for him. His heart became sick for what was beneficial to him and befitting to him. So he sees with weak and sickly eyes and hears with unhealthy ears.

Doubtlessly, worldly desires have made his heart and soul dead and destroyed his intelligence. He has become a slave of this world and also of every one who owns anything from the worldly wealth. (Nahjul Balagha).
Inspite of the fact that there are only two paths before us - no third alternative - man will either to go to Paradise or to hell - Now if one does not take and follow God's path He will not only be deprived of all the bounties mentioned by us above briefly, his dwelling place forever will also be only hell which is full of pains. Only an iota of its pain is and troubles is given below”

Guarding the Tongue

The other offences of the tongue, in addition to them being types of oppression (which itself, according to reason and religion, is forbidden), have also been prohibited in Islamic sources under their very names. Some examples are given below:

1.Allah the Most High said: “O you who believe, let not (one) people laugh at (another) people, perchance they may be better than they, nor let women (laugh) at (other) women, perchance they may be better than they; and do not find fault with other people, nor call one another by nicknames; evil is a bad name after faith, and whoever does not repent, he it is who is unjust.”
2.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.a.) said: “Anyonewho makes light of a poor believing Muslim, he has made light of Allah Himself, and Allah will make light of him on the Day of Resurrection if he does not repent. Anyone who respects a poor believing Muslim, he will meet Allah on the Day of Resurrection while He is pleased with him. Indeed anyone who respects his believing Muslim brother, he respects Allah the Almighty.”
3.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “Anyone who abases a poorbelieving Muslim for his poverty and makes light of him, he has made light of Allah and remains in the wrath of Allah until he goes to one whom he has wronged and apologizes to him and the other becomes pleased with him.”
4.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “Allah said: 'Anyone whoabases my believing servant, he has declared war against Me'.”
5.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “Anyone who annoys abeliever, Allah annoys him; and anyone who saddens a believer, Allah will bring sadness to him.”
6.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “Anyone who glares at abeliever with a look to frighten him, Allah will frighten him on the Day when there is no shelter except His own.”
7.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “The entire being of a believer is a sanctuary that is his prestige, his property and his life.”
8.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “Insulting a believer is agreat transgression and fighting him is unbelief, eating his flesh (backbiting him) is a sin, and respecting his property is like respecting his life.”
9.
He (s.a.w.a.) also said: “Anyone who rebukes theslightest fault of a believer will not die until he himself commits that fault.”
10.
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) said: “Beware ofbeing snide to the believers.”
11.
He (a.s.) also said: “There is no one who is snidein the presence of a believer except that he dies with the worst kind of death, and wilt not be given the grace to be on the path of accomplishing good actions.”
12.
Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) said: “Do not disregarda poor believing Muslim; because anyone who disregards or makes light of him will he disregarded by Allah.”
13.
He (a.s.) also said: “Anyone who disregards abeliever whether poor or not, Allah disregards him until he ceases his action.”
14.
He (a.s.) also said: “Allah has said: 'Let anyonewho annoys My believing servant announce a war against Me, and let anyone who respects My believing servant be safe from My anger.'”
15.
Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (a.s.) said: “Surely cursing when uttered by the cursor moves back and forth between him and the person cursed. If it finds any reason to be attached to the victim, it attaches; but if not, the curser himself becomes worthy of it, and it comes back to him. Therefore beware of cursing a believer, lest your curse come back to you.”
16.
He (a.s.) also said: “Anyone who rebukes abeliever, Allah the Almighty will rebuke him in this world and the hereafter.”
17.
He (a.s.) also said: “He is cursed, he is cursed,he who attributes unbelief to a believer, and he who attributes unbelief to a believer is like his murderer

Hijab is a state of mind enjoined upon both men and women in Islam. At the heart of its purpose, Hijab is about maintaining or elevating the dignity of every individual regardless of gender and preserving the ability of individuals to feel the natural sense of modesty, the loss of which is a serious spiritual sickness.
There are two overarching principles to Hijab for men and women according to the Qur'an:
1. Lowering your gaze: This means you should avoid looking at, listening to, or otherwise observing anything that damages your natural sense of modesty and shame, as well as anything that causes you to feel temptation to sin or causes attraction toward someone with whom you could not lawfully act on it.
2. Guarding your modesty: This means you should avoid revealing anything about yourself, whether through how you dress, how you speak, what you say or write, or other means, that would cause damage to your natural sense of modesty and shame, or tempt you to sin, or cause you to be attracted to or to attract someone with whom you could not lawfully act on that attraction.
The requirements of Islamic modest dress are based upon these two principles. Dress should be such that it guards your modesty and aids you in lowering your gaze and does not make it unnecessarily difficult for someone else to lower their gaze and guard their own modesty.
The basic requirements for female dress in public are four:
1. Extent: Everything but your hands and face must be covered. Feet should be covered, as should hair, neck, ears, and arms. Make-up and adornment should be covered, even if that means covering parts that would not otherwise have to be covered. Most scholars say that wedding rings and religious rings need not be covered, but in general, jewelry is adornment and should be concealed.
2. Looseness: The garments should be loose enough so that the shape of your body from at least the shoulders to the mid-thighs is not apparent. Even for the legs, clothes should not be skin-tight. If the fabric follows your curves, it is too tight.
3. Thickness: The clothing should be thick enough that the color of your skin and hair underneath cannot be discerned through the fabric.
4. Style: The clothes should not be of a color, style, or decoration so as to serve the purpose of drawing attention, being adornment, or showing off. Thus, clothes with bright colors, fancy decorations, and expensive fabrics should be avoided. Further, clothes that would be considered as belonging to the opposite gender or to followers of another religion are also excluded. Also, it is improper to be a slave to fashion, spending wastefully for the latest trend, judging and being judged based on style, etc. Simplicity is better for your soul, mind and body.
Men's clothing requirements are exactly the same as women’s, except for the extent that needs to be covered. Jurists' rulings differ slightly in this matter, but as a general guideline, men should cover from navel to knees at a minimum, although a greater extent is preferable in the presence of women, since a greater area than this can be attractive to the opposite sex.
All four requirements hold in the presence of non-mahrams (unrelated members of the opposite sex). It should be noted that, in addition to people of the opposite sex who are not related to you, some relatives are no-mahram as well, and thus Hijab should be observed in front of them. For example, you need to observe Hijab in front of cousins of the opposite gender. If you are a woman, you should observe Hijab in front of brothers-in-law and uncles related by marriage rather than blood. And if you are a man, you should observe Hijab in front of sisters-in-law and aunts related by marriage rather than blood.
When in the presence of mahram individuals only, the requirements for Islamic modest dress are different. Except between spouses, who are permitted to see all of each other's bodies, the extent of covering required between mahram individuals is such that all private areas are covered. Looseness and thickness of clothing should also ensure coverage of the private areas. Adornment such as make-up and jewelry are generally permitted, but if the purpose is to attract, it should be reserved to be shared between married couples only. As for style, the requirements about showing off and about wearing clothes of the opposite gender or of another religion hold at all times.
Hijab requirements do not block women and men from doing business or from attending meetings in the same room as long as they are observing Hijab. However, the lowering of the gaze means when in the presence of non-mahrams, one should avoid looking at them in such a way as to be attracted to their bodies, or listening to them in such a way as to be attracted to their voices, etc. And in turn, the guarding of modesty means that one should behave so as not to be trying to attract the opposite sex, or showing off, or discoursing with them in a familiar way or about private topics.
Even the enemies of Islam have recognized that Hijab of men and women gives dignity to humanity and thus empowers those who observe it. This is one of the main reasons that they systematically attack it and try to convince Muslim men and women to abandon true Hijab. Observing Hijab begins and ends with its two over-riding principles – lowering your gaze and guarding your modesty. These two acts are greatly beneficial to you in both this world and the Hereafter – they protect you from hardship, sin, and confusion and they elevate you spiritually –  and this is why many people who observe Hijab describe it as being very freeing and something they truly love. Examine your interactions and your wardrobe with these two principles in mind, change anything that is out of line, and you will soon be enjoying the benefits in your own life.

A true believer never forgets Allah and never forsakes His remembrance. The busy and tight schedules of life do not divert his heart from His remembrance:

"Men whom neither merchandise nor selling diverts them from the remembrance of Allah and the keeping up of prayer and the giving of the poor-rate; they fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes shall turn about." (24:37)

In a tradition, Imam Ali says that two types of sinners will remain miserable. They are those who make fun of a believer, and those who disrespect their parents.

By this narration, Imam Ali lifts the attention of theUmmah to the fact that "believers" and "parents" both hold a very special status. With that in mind, we can imagine that if a person is both a parent and a believer, then they certainly deserve a greater degree of respect by others.

Furthermore, if a believer is so important in the eyes of Allah, then what is the status of a person who is the Chief of Believers? And if our parents hold such a special status, then what about the parents who play the role of parenthood over the whole Muslim nation?
The Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) have given strong commands in regards to the issue of feeding a hungry believer and clothing him.

It has been reported that Imam Sajjad said: "Whoever feeds a hungry believer, Allah will feed him with the fruits of Paradise; and whoever gives a drink to a thirsty believer, Allah will quench his thirst (on the Day of Judgment) with an exquisite drink of Paradise; and whoever clothes a believer, Allah will clothe him with a green robe of Paradise."

Similarly, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir said: "If any believer feeds another believer to full, Allah will feed him from the fruits of Paradise; and if he gives him a sip to drink, He will quench his thirst with an exquisite drink (of Paradise); and if he clothes him, Allah will clothe him with a green robe (of Paradise) and he will remain under the protection of Allah as long as a thread of that cloth remains."

My message to all the readers is that the world in which we are living is becoming more and more fragile and there is an urgent need for peace and harmony among humankind.
Peace and harmony cannot be achieved until we are educated and feel the presence of Allah in our lives.  The world is compelling us to become individualistic beings while by nature we are social.  Thus Islam is the only system with which one can attain success in both the worlds.  Take out anger, hatred, and revulsion and bring knowledge, love and harmony among all humankind. Learn total Islam and follow it totally Insha Allah the success is under your feet.
O’ Allah give us strength to fight tyranny, oppression, injustice and indecency.
O’ Allah hasten the appearance of the maker of Justice to the mankind.
O’ Allah give us Tawfeeq (Heavenly inspiration) to follow the best religion Islam.
O’ Allah keep us united and make us pious.

Jumma prayer is a very important tool for the resolving problems of the masses.

As per the Holy Quran it is a command to the Muslims:  “O you who believe, when the Congregational Prayer (Salat Al-Jumu`ah) is announced on Friday, you shall hasten to the commemoration of Allah, and drop all business. This is better for you, if you only knew.” (62:9). There are numerous Ahadith which encourage followers to attend the Juma prayers.  One of which says:  “Juma prayers are Hajj of the needy“.

Jumma is the weekly spiritual, gathering which we should adhere to resolve the problems of the masses.  Juma prayer has two Sermons (Khutbas) the first one is to discuss Taqwa piousness and purity. The Islamic belief is that without piety, peace cannot be achieved in society.  Purification of souls is the goal of Islam and it can be attained by good advice from each other, and Juma is the best place to talk about it.  The second sermon (Khutba) should be regarding the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah during the past week.

The leader of the Jumma prayer should be so bright and well informed that he should be analyzing the situation of Muslims of that area and as well the Muslims of the world.
Maulana Zakir Baqri
Imam Baqir (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): “Whoever wants to be the richest person should trust what is in God's hands more than what is in the hands of the people.”

Imam Baqir (a.s) said: “God the Almighty said: O' children of Adam! Be content with what you are granted, then you will be the richest men.”

Imam Sajjad (a.s) said: “Whoever is content with what God has destined for him is one of the richest persons.”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said:
“The best form of wealth is contentment.”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) advised a man and said: “Be content with what God has destined for you. Do not be greedy of what others own. Do not hope to have what you cannot get. Whoever is content will get satisfied. But whoever is not content will never get satisfied. Gain your benefit from the Hereafter.”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) narrated that Imam Ali (a.s) always said: “Whoever wishes spiritual richness but does not quench his anger will die in sorrow.”
