‎"Momin ki har sada ko tera intizar hai,

Eeman ki baqa ko tera intizar hai;

Phir rooh-e-inqilab ki haajat hai deen ko,

Aa ja kay La Illah ko tera intizar hai;

Sab ki yeh aarzu hai kay raah-e-Khuda milay,

Lekin Khuda ki raah ko tera intizar hai;

Parda hata kay dekh, meray daur kay Hussain (a.s),

Bay-chain Zulfiqar hai, bay-taab Murtaza (a.s),

Abbas-e-ba-wafa (a.s) ko tera intizar hai."
"He indeed will be successful who purifies himself, and magnifies the name of his Lord and prays." (87:14-15)
"And the soul and Him who made it perfect. Then He inspired it to understand what is right and what is wrong for it; He will indeed be successful who purifies it, and he will indeed fail who corrupts it." (91:7-10)
The above verses of Holy Qur'an lay down the fundamental law of success and failure. As per this law, the success is granted to those who cleanse and purify their soul, and the failure is meant for those who have corrupted themselves and have blinded their hearts. The purification of soul makes man eligible for Divine guidance and mercy and the ability to make distinction between right and wrong, while the corruption takes him near to Accursed Satan and deprives him of his capabilities of understanding and following the Truth.
If we follow our material desires unstopped, without any discretion, they become like a bottomless trench which takes a man deeper and deeper into the corruption.
Our Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) says in one of his prayers about the treacherous tendencies in our souls:
"My Lord, to You I complain of a soul
Commanding to evil, rushing to offenses,
Eager to disobey You,
And exposing itself to Your anger.
It takes me on the roads of disasters,
It makes me the easiest of perishers before You.
Many [are] its pretexts; drawn out [are] its expectations.
When evil touches it, it is anxious;
When good touches it, grudging;
Inclining to sport and diversion,
Full of heedlessness and inattention,
It hurries me to misdeeds and makes me delay repentance.
...My Lord, to You I complain of a heart that is hard,
Turned this way and that by tempting thoughts, clothed in rust and seal,
And of an eyes too indifferent to weep in fear of You and
Eagerly seeking that which gladdens it."

The above supplication describes the reality of human Nafs, which is always like treacherous enemy ready to deceive us and make us do sin against the commands of Our Lord.
The Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) presents the way to salvation and contentment of soul in the following words:
"The best riches is abandonment of desires."

Human desires are unlimited, and this material world makes us more and more trapped into the quagmire of desires. As a result, we get more and more absorbed with this world and forget the ultimate purpose of this life and birth on this earth.

As the thirst for material goods has no end, we always feel short of resources to satisfy our ever-increasing desires. Our Imam says that if we control our lust for this material world and abandon our desires, we can be rich, as being rich is not about having wealth of this world but rather a mental state whereby one feels content and Ghani in his heart.
In the same vein, his saying that "Contentment is the wealth that does not diminish" explains the basics of human happiness.
Tazkiya Nafs, or purification of the soul, is about making our soul pure and free from the filth and dirt of forbidden desires.

Ayatollah Ibrahim Amini in his book Self Building mentions that the purpose of prophethood was to cleanse the evils in man's moral character: "God did confer a great favor on the believers when he sent among them an apostle from among themselves rehearsing unto them the signs of God, purifying them, and instructing them in scripture and wisdom, while before that they had been in manifest error." (3:164)

Therefore, it is obvious that the subject of human education and training was of such vital importance that God Almighty sent Divine Messengers especially for this purpose, thus conferring a great favor upon the believers. The individual as well as collective personality, prosperity, or cruelty (of this world and Hereafter) of a human being depends upon how much efforts he had already made or is still making for self-building. It is from this consideration that self-building is regarded something of such vital importance, because it determines ones eventual destiny.

The Divine Messengers came to teach human beings regarding the path of self-building, nourishment, and perfection of self, as well as to accompany them as their guide and helper in this vital and determinant task. They came for cleansing and sanctifying human selves from their indecent moral characteristics and animal instincts, and bestowing upon them superior spiritual virtues.
The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his progeny) has said: "I emphasize the importance of good morals for you because God Almighty has sent me especially for this purpose." The human self is very much liable for training and education. If we educate ourselves and rise above the level of animalistic lusts, we can really achieve the success and accomplish the purpose for which we have been sent in this world. Imam Ali said about the Nafs: "The Nafs is like a precious jewel: whoever strives for its protection, it will help him attaining exalted positions, and whoever acted negligently in its protection, it shall pull him towards humiliation." "Whoever knows the worth of his self will never allow himself to be indulging into passing worldly amusements and shameful deeds." "Whoever discovers the nobility of the Nafs shall guard it against lowness of passions and false desires." "Whoever possesses the nobility of the Nafs will become free from wants."
The above traditions from the Imam show that the human has great potential and great capacities for progress and success; what is required is self-control through Islamic means and abandonment of low desires which take us to destruction.
Ayatollah Amini quoting the above traditions in his book says: "From the above-quoted verses and narrations, whose examples are frequent, it can be derived that the human Nafs is a valuable and precious jewel which should be carefully guarded, protected, and nourished." In contrast to this is another aspect of our self, it is heedlessness and waywardness. This path is the path of desires and lusts, too much indulgence, and thus making us forget His remembrance and the purpose of life. This path is the path of darkness and ignorance, leading to destruction in the both worlds. Imam Ali said: "The Nafs commands you continuously to indulge into evil deeds; therefore, whoever trusts his Nafs will be deceived by it, whoever believes his Nafs will be destroyed by it, and whoever is satisfied with his Nafs will be led to the worst kind of disasters by it."
Our Lord says in His Book of Guidance: "And if they answer you not, then know that what they follow is their lusts. And who goes farther astray than he who follows his lust without guidance from God? Lo! God guides not wondering folk." (28:50) Allah also says, "Have you then considered him who takes his low desire for his god, and Allah has made him err having knowledge and has set a seal upon his ear and his heart and put a covering upon his eye. Who can then guide him after Allah? Will you not then be mindful?" (45:23)
The above verses teach us that the indulgence in low desires deprives us from His guidance. On the other hand, success is for those who refrain from deviating base desires: "But as far as he who feared to stand before his Lord and restrained his soul from lust – lo! The garden will be his home." (79:40-41.)
Imam Ali says: "Self-consciousness is one of the most profitable assets of a person." Indeed, self-consciousness shows us the path, makes us realize our mistakes, urges us confess our sins, and helps us understand His status. But this self-consciousness is not possible without purification of the soul and avoidance of that which is forbidden.

Abd Allah b. Yahya al-Bazzaz narrated from ‘Ali b. Muskan from ‘Abd Allah b. al-Mufaddal al-Nawafil from his father from al-Husayn b. ‘Ali, peace be upon him, who said:
‘When I say these words, I pay no attention to the jinn and human beings who gather against me.

“In the Name of Allah and by Allah, and to Allah, and in the path of Allah, and according to the creed of the Messenger of Allah, blessings be on him.  O Allah, protect me by Your Strength and Your Might and Your Power from the evil of every-doer, and the plot of the wicked.  Surely I love the righteous and chosen ones, and Allah bless Muhammad, the Prophet and his family.”’

‘The Messenger of Allah, blessings of Allah on him and his family, said: “Whoever wishes a person evil and that person wishes Allah to make a barrier between the two of them, let him say when he sees him:
‘I take refuge in the Might of Allah and His Strength, from the Might of His creation and its strength.  I take refuge with the Lord of the Daybreak, from the evil of what He created (113:1-2).’”
“Then say what Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said to His Prophet: So, if they turn their backs, say:
God is enough for me.  There is no god but He.  In Him I have put my trust.  He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne (9:129).  Allah will turn away from him the plot of every plotter, the deception of every cunning person and the envy of every envier.
Do not say these words excepts to his face and Allah will protect him by His Might.”’

We all talk of Allah and the Day of Judgement. But do we really have a strong faith is a moot question! It is only Satan (and his ilk) that is a touchstone for testing the humans.

If you take Allah's name with implicit faith, then why you don't have confidence in His promises. If, unfortunately, you have accepted the fears that Satan has put in you mind, then you will be rendered a mominonly in the namesake. If you have a strong belief in the existence of the Heaven, then why you don't make a sincere effort to earn a place in it! Why don't you try to avoid going to the Hell as Retribution for the evil deeds committed under the spell of Satan!

Wa ma kaana lahu alaihim min sultanin illa lenalama mai yaumenu bil aakhirate mimman huwa minha fi shak
And there is not for him any authority over them , save that We would know (distinguish) him who believeth in the hereafter, from him who is in doubt concerning it.----Saba 21

You see that a particular lady has claims of piety. Satan approaches her in the garb of a human being and says, ' Madam! You have become old-fashioned and retrograde! You have covered yourself in such a clumsychadar (shawl)'. When you happen to see the lady a second time, she will not look much different from gentlemen! Satan creates such doubts, fears and changes in the human beings.

Definitely, the purpose of the creation of Satan is to test the human beings as to their determination to be steadfast on the right path. Those who are fickle minded and susceptible to be led astray by Satan are also tested by Satan! Thus Allah gets a proof of who is momin (pious) and who is fajir (hypocrite.)

Dua’a For All Night Ibadat

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “Whoever recites the following verses of Surah the Family of Imran (190 – 194) every night then he gets the reward of the whole night’s Ibadat.

Transliteration: BISMILLA HIR RAHMA NIR RAHIM

Verily, in the creations of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and day, there are signs for men who posses wisdom. (3: 190)
Those who remember Allah standing, and sitting and reclining on their sides and think (seriously) in the creation of the heaven and the earth; saying “O’ Our Lord! Thou hast not created (all) this in vain! Glory be to Thee! Save us then from the chastisement of the fire.” (3:191)
O’ Our Lord! Whomsoever Thou causeth to enter the (Hell) fire, surely Thou hast put him to disgrace; there is not, for the unjust, any of the helpers. (3: 192)
O’ Our Lord! We have indeed heard the voice of a Crier (Prophet), calling (us) unto faith, saying “Believe in your Lord!” and we did believe. Our Lord! Therefore “forgive us then our sins and remove away from us our evil deeds, and cause us to die with the virtuous ones.” (3: 193)
O’ Our Lord! And give us what Thou hast promise us through Thy messengers, and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection: Verily. Thou breakest not Thy Promise. (3: 194)

Importance of Bismillahirrahmanirrahim!

Syed Murtadha was a great aalim (scholar) who lived many years ago. He had many students who attended his classes.

At one of his classes he noticed that one of the students always came late. One day Syed Murtadha asked the student "Why are you always late?"

The student replied that he lived across the river and always took the first ferry across but the ferry service did not start any earlier.

Syed Murtadha wrote something on a piece of paper, folded it and gave it to the student. "Keep this with you" he said "and you will be able to walk across the river from tomorrow - but do not open the paper."

The next day the student got to the river and put his foot tentatively on the water. He could not believe that he could actually walk on the water.

For the next few days, he got to the classes on time.

One day, he could not hold back his curiosity. He looked inside the folded piece of paper. On it was written Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful).

For a moment he thought - "Is this all that helps me walk on water!" He put the paper in his pocket as usual and went to the river to go to his classes. This time he could not walk on the water and had to wait for the ferry. This meant that he was late for his class.

When the class was over, Syed Murtadha called him over and said "You looked into the paper when I had told you not to!"

With Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) you can move mountains provided you have trust and faith in Allah.

Importance of Bismillahirrahmanirrahim!

When Shaytan, Shaitan was ordered out of heaven by Allah, he asked three questions?

Where will I live? Where will I eat? Where will I sleep?

Allah told him that he, Shaytan, Shaitan would live with the person who did not say Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before he/she entered his/her house.

Shaytan, Shaitan would eat with the person who did not say Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before he/she started to eat.

Shaytan, Shaitan would sleep with the person who did not say Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before he/she went to sleep.

There was once a lady who always said Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before she did anything. She knew that Allah would then always be with her. One day, she put her ring in the cupboard and as usual she said Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before she put it away. She knew that it would be safe.

Her husband took the ring and threw it in the river. He wanted to prove to her that only saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) would not keep it safe. He thought that in the evening he would ask her where the ring was and it would not be there.

Later that morning, the lady went to the market to buy some fish. When she was cleaning the fish at home she found her ring inside the stomach of the fish. She wondered how it got there but then put it back in its place in the cupboard saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful).

When her husband came back from work, he asked her where the ring was. She brought it from the cupboard. He was so surprised!

He told her what he had done and apologized to her. He also truly believed that Allah is with the person who says Bismillahirrahmanirrahim (In the name of Allah, the beneficent the merciful) before he/she does anything.

An Angel was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like?"

The Lord sent the Angel to two doors. The Angel opened one of the doors and looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the Angel's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths.

The Angel shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen Hell. Now go to the next door."

The Angel went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the Angel's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The Angel said, "I don't understand."

"It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to share by feeding each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

Moral of the story: Its people's attitude that makes our place of work, a hell or heaven! 'Help and Seek Help' this makes all the difference to each individual's life and makes our lives hell or heaven. Success and happiness is all about effective team-work make it a great place to work.

Holy Qur'an: A Companion in the Grave

Rasulullah (saw) said: When a man dies and his relatives are busy in funeral, there stands an extremely handsome man by his head. When the dead body is shrouded, that man gets in between the shroud and the chest of the deceased.

When after the burial, the people return home, two angels, Munkar and Nakeer, come in the grave and try to separate this handsome man so that they may be able to interrogate the dead man in privacy about his faith. But the handsome man says, He is my companion, he is my friend. I will not leave him alone in any case. If you are appointed for interrogation, do your job. I cannot leave him until I get him admitted into Paradise.

Thereafter he turns to his dead companion and says, I am the Noble Qur'an, which you used to read, sometimes in a loud voice and sometimes in a low voice. Do not worry. After the interrogation of Munkar and Nakeer, you will have no grief.

When the interrogation is over, the handsome man arranges for him from Al-Mala'ul A'laa (the angels in Heaven) silk bedding filled with musk.

Also Rasulullah (saw) said: "On the Day of Judgement, before Allah (SWT), no other intercessor will have a greater status than the Noble Qur'an, neither a Prophet nor an angel."

God's Wife
LOOK OUT FOR THE LAST STORY......
IT WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF.

Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once
Talked about a contest he was asked to judge.
The purpose of the
Contest was to find the most caring child.

The winner was:

A four-year-old child, whose next door
neighbor
was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his
wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old
Gentleman's' yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.
When his mother asked him what he had
said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, 'Nothing, I just
Helped him cry.'

*********************************************

Teacher Debbie Moon's first graders were
discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture
had a different hair color than the other members. One of her
students suggested that he was adopted.
A little girl said, 'I know all about
Adoption, I was adopted.'

'What does it mean to be adopted?', asked
another child.

'It means', said the girl, 'that you grew
in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy!'

*********************************************

On my way home one day, I stopped to
watch a Little League baseball game that was being played in a
park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-
base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was
'We're behind 14 to nothing,' he answered
With a smile.

'Really,' I said
, 'I have to say you
don't look very discouraged.'

'Discouraged?', the boy asked with a
Puzzled look on his face.

'Why should we be discouraged? We haven't
Been up to bat yet.'

*********************************************

Whenever I'm disappointed with my spot
in life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott.

Jamie was trying out for a part in the
school play. His mother told me that he'd set his heart on being
in it, though she feared he would not be chosen.

On the day the parts were awarded, I went
with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her,
eyes shining with pride and excitement. 'Guess what, Mom ,' he
shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to
me....'I've been chosen to clap and cheer.'

An eye witness account from New York
City , on a cold day in December,
some years ago: A little boy,
 about 10-years-old,
was standing before a shoe store on the
roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering
With cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said,
'My, but you're in such deep thought staring in that window!'

'I was asking God to give me a pair of
shoes,'was the boy's reply.

The lady took him by the hand, went into
the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks
for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water
and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back
part of the store and, removing her gloves, knelt down, washed
his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with
the socks.. Placing a pair upon the boy's feet, she purchased him
a pair of shoes.

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks
and gave them to him. She patted him on the head and said, 'No
doubt, you will be more comfortable now.'

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her
 by the hand,
and looking up into her face, with tears
in his eyes, asked her.

'Are you God's wife?'

Sun to set above Makkah on Saturday

By Staff
Published Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Moslems praying at the Grand Mosque in the western Saudi city of Makkah will be able to see the sun straight above them on Saturday, a rare phenomenon that helps worshippers worldwide to set the exact direction of the holy city.
The phenomenon is the first this year and will take place exactly at 12:18 noon Saudi time (13:18 UAE time or 09:18 GMT), said Majid Abu Zahira, head of the Jeddah Astronomy Association.
“This vertical solar phenomenon will happen for the first time this year and Makkah will be straight under the sun….this means all structures and bodies in the Grand Mosque will have no shadow at that time…it will be a zero shadow,” he told the Saudi Sharq newspaper.
Abu Zahira said the phenomenon would help Moslems around the world in knowing the exact direction of Makkah, including those in Europe, Africa, RussiaChinaand East Asia, where the best time to define Makkah direction will be around sunset by looking at the sun.
In North and South Americas, the direction can be best known at sunset on that day, he said.
“Moslems and other people can set that direction by placing a stick or any other object vertically on the ground at that time…its shadow will point accurately towards Makkah…this applies to distant areas not in areas close to Makkah like Jeddah,” he said.
Abu Zahira called on residents of neighboring Gulf countries to carry out the experiment for the Makkah direction setting and email photographs to the Society onJeddah_society@yahoo.com

HOLY CITY OF KARBALA, Iraq: On Thursday May 12, 2011, Jamadi Al-aakherah 8, deceased Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Kadhim Al-Qazwini, son-in-law of late Ayatollah Sayyed Meerza Mehdi Al-Husseini Ash-Shirazi, was laid to rest in the Shiraziah tomb in the holy Husseini shrine compound in the holy city of Karbala.

Large number of clerics, scholars, Husseini speakers, religious scholars and mo’minin attended the funeral.

The funeral began from the tomb of Al-Allamah Ahmed bin Fahd Al-Hilli marched towards the holy shrine of Abi’l Fadhl Al-Abbas (a.s.) where holy ziyarah was recited then the funeral culminated at the holy hrine of Al-Imam Al-Hussein (a.s.) where he was buried.

Sayyed Al-Qazwini was born in the holy city of Karbala, completed his religious education in Karbala hauzah. He wrote many books; a series of unique books titled ‘minn al-mahd eelal lahd’ about the life of Ahlil Bayt (a.s.), and similarly a writing ‘Al-Imam As-Sadeq (a.s.) consisting of 50 volumes.

He had died 17 years ago on 15 Jamadi Al-Aakherah, was buried amanatan (as a trust) in husseiniyah az-Zaynabiyah for people of Karbala in the holy city of Qom implementing his wasiyah (will) to transfer his dead body after it to holy Karbala.
Then after 17 years have been passed, on Jamadi Al-Aakherah 5, his dead body was taken out from the grave to transfer to holy Karbala.

Surprisingly, during the taking out process his dead body was safe and fresh as if he was died right now; even his coffin cloth was undamaged. Similarly the book ‘Fatimah toz Zahra minn al mahd eelal lahd’ which was put on his chest according to his will while he was buried in the grave, was safe and secure.

When Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Sadeq Ash-Shirazi attended his funeral he said: the reason that the body of Sayyed Al-Qazwini remained safe and secure even after 17 years is that he was mottaqi (one who preserves his self), he spent his life in the way of Allah and fourteen infallibles from the progeny of Prophet Mohammad (s).
