A’amaal for 13, 14 and 15th of Rajab, Shaa’-baan and Ramzan months
(Ayyaam-e-Baydh)
(1) 13th, 14th and 15th of Rajab, Shaa’-baan and Ramzan are know as “Ayyaam-e-Beez” (the days of surpassing splendour) . Imam Jaa’-far bin Muhammad As Saadiq (A.S.) had said: Whoso prays during the nights of “Ayyam Bayz”, in fact, stands at the door of superabundant favours, bounties and benefits available in these months
(2) It is highly desirable to observe fast on 13, 14 and 15, have a bath each day, and give alms in the way of Allah.
(3) In the night of “Ayyam Bayz” pray a 12 Rak-a’t Namaz as under
(i) In the night of the 13th pray 2 Rak-a’t:
In each Rak-a’t recite Soorah Al Faatih’ah, Soorah Al Yaa Seen, and Soorah Al Mulk.
(ii) In the night of the 14th pray 4 Rak-a’t: in 2 sets of 2
2 Rak-a’t, each exactly as (i),
(iii) In the night of the 15th pray 6 Rak-a’t: in 3 sets of 2 of
2 Rak-a’t, each exactly as (i),
(4) In the night of 15th:
(i) Recite Ziyaarat of Imam Husayn bin Ali (A.S.)
(ii) Pray the following 12 Rak-a’t Namaaz in 6 sets of 2 Rak-a’t each:
In every Rak-a’t recite:
Soorah Al Faatih’ah 4 times
Soorah Al Ikhlaas 4 times
Soorah Al Falaq 4 times
Soorah Al Kaafiroon 4 times
Soorah Al Naas 4 times
Soorah Al Qadr 4 times
Aayaatul Kursee 4 times
Tasbihaat ul Arbaa’ 4 times
After every Salaam recite 4 times:
ALLAAHU ALLAAHU RABBEE LAA USHRIKU BIHEE SHAY-AN WA LAA ATTAKHID’U MIN DOONIHEE WALIYYAA WA MA SHAAA-ALLAAHU LA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAHIL A’LIYYIL A’Z’EEM
(5) On the 15th day
(i) Pray Namaaz of Salman Farsi. A 10 Rakat Namaaz Pray in 5 sets of 2 rakat each. In every Rakat recite Sura Faatihah , once ,Sura Ikhlaas 3 times & Sura Kafiroon 3times.
Then after salaam raise both your hands towards the sky & recite
LAA ILAAHA ILLALAAHU WAH’DAHOO LAA SHAREEKA LAHOO LAHUL MULKU WA LAHUL H’AMDU YUHY’EE WA YUMEETU WA HUWA H’AYYUN LAA YAMOOTU BI YADIHIL KHAYR WA HUWA A’LAA KULLI SHAY-IN QADEER
There is no god save Allah,no one other than him;sovereignity belongs to HIM .all praise is for HIM alone,gives life,puts to death,(because)HE is everliving ,Immortal;in His hand is the goodHe is able to do all thing
Then say:
ALLAAHUMMA LAA MAANI-A’LIMAA AA’-T’AYTA WA LAA MUA’T’IYA LIMAA MANAA’-TA WA LAA YANFA-U’D’AL-JADDI MINKAL JADD
O my Allah there is no obstacle when thou gives , and there is no access to anything when thou puts a stop; there is no profit in exerting ones self in a matter when thou “ looks the other way”
& recite the following:

A'amal Umme Dawood 15 Rajab
Be it known that the best a'mal for middle of Rajab is Do'a-e-Umme Dawood. It is best for fulfilment of desires and removal of oppressions and calamities. Imam Ja'far-e-Sadiq (A.S.)said"Do not teach this amal to each and everyone lest some should perform it for illegitimate purpose. It contains Great Name of Allah (Isme Azam) and every desire will be attained for which it is performed in spite of all hurdles, even if doors of heaven and earth are shut as it were, Allah will suffice even if all the mankind and genie are against the performer and every body will be subjugated. If performed, in any other month other than Rajab, in the middle of the month after observing fast on 13th, 14th and 15th it will carry the same benefit. It is also beneficial to perform this amal on any auspicious day like Friday or Arfa without observing fast.
A'amal METHOD
-Observe fast on 13th, 14th and 15th Rajab. On 15th take bath at the time when the sun passes the meridian (waqt-e-Zawal) put on clean clothes and sit on a clean mat at a place of seclusion so that nobody interferes.
-Offer 8 Rakat Nafal-e-Zuhr with best attention and then offer Namaz-e-Zuhr.
-After that offer 2 Rakat Namaz reciting any soora after AI-Hamd in each Rakat. After finishing say for 100 times:

In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful
-Then go in to prostration (Sajda), place your face on earth and say.
The Imam (A.S.) said that one should try to shed a tear even a tiny one as it is a sign of acceptance of invocation. In another tradition the following Do'a is recommended to be recited once in prostration (Sajda).
In yet another tradition the following is recommended to be recited 100 times in prostration (Sajda).
She was Fātima, the mother of Dāwūd, a great grandson of the 2nd Imam, Hasan al- Mujtaba (a) and a foster brother of the 6th Imam, Ja‘far al-Sādiq (a). Umm Dāwūd had served as a wet nurse to Imam as-Sādiq (a).
Once, the 6
th Imam (a) was ill so Fātima (Umm Dāwūd) went to visit him. During her visit the Imam inquired about his [foster] brother Dāwūd. Fātima replied that she had lost hope in finding him, for she did not even know whether he was alive or dead. The Imam taught her an A‘māl (a combination of Qur’anic recitations, supplications and prayers) that was very effective in getting a quick outcome of one’s legal needs. It is said that, whoever performs this A‘māl, the doors of skies are opened for him/her, and the angels descend from heavens to receive him and to inform him of the good news of acceptance.

Umm Dāwūd said that she waited till she performed the A‘māl on 15th of Rajab. The next day someone knocked the door and, to her amazement it was her son Dāwūd, who got released from the prison. Dāwūd narrated to her mother that he was held in a very high security prison with chains on his neck, hands and feet. Suddenly, one fine day the guards came in and took him to Mansūr, the ruler. He ordered the chains to be removed, gave Dāwūd ten thousand Dirhams, and a fast ride to take to him home.
It is reported authentically that Umme Dawood asked wether this Amal can be performed in anyother month than Rajab. The Holy Imam replied in the affirmative and said that it can be performed on Day of Arfa and if perchance Arfa falls on Fri day, the performer will not have finished yet that he will be absolved of his sins.
This Amal can be performed in any month. One should observe fast on 13th, 14th and 15th day of the month and recite this Do'a on 15th as described above. His wish inshaallah will be fulfilled.

Imam Sadiq (AS) said: "God grants seven hours to repent to any believer
who commits a sin. If he repents in that period, nothing will be recorded
in his letter of deeds, but if he does not, then the sin will be recorded."
Shaikh Sadooq narrates from Imam Ali-ar-Reza (AS) that if a person does not have the
means to lessen the stock of his bad deeds, he should send Salawaat and Salaam on
Mohammad (SAWW) and His Progeny (AS)bundantly, doing so will decrease (the weight
of ) his sins.

Any claim that person has on you can be reimbursed by Allah if he accepts your prayer.
Recite al Ikhlas 12 times and then the following du-a'a.
O my Allah, verily I beseech You in the name of Your name, well guarded and not known, pure, purifying, blessed: and again and again I beseech You in the name of Your great name and Your eternal sovereignty, O bestower of gifts, O liberator of captives, O He who saves the necks (of sinners if pardoned) from the (punishment) of fire, I beseech You to send blessings on Muhammadn and on the children of Muhammad, let me depart from this world free from (obligations to my fellow beings) and enter paradise in peace and security, (it is possible only if) You keep my neck safe from the fire. Let the beginning of my prayer earn success, the middle salvation, and the end goodness. Verily You are He who knows the unseen.

Imam Baqir (a.s) quoted on the authority of Imam Ali ibn al-Hussein (a.s): "Possessing the following four will perfect your Islam and eliminate your sins, and you will meet your Lord while God is pleased with you:
1- Fulfilling your promises to the people,

3- Being ashamed of what is shameful near God and the people,
4- Being good-tempered with your family."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): "My nation should always do the following four:
1- They should love those who repent,
2- They should be sympathetic with the weak,
3- They should help the good-doers,
4- They should pray for all the people."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Six things will benefit a believer after his death:
1- A child who seeks God for his forgiveness;
2- A book which he has left behind;
3- A tree which he has planted;
4- A water well which he has dug up;
5- Charity which he has established; and
6- A good tradition from him which is acted on after him.

Imam Baqir (a.s) narrated on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): "I advise my present and future nation up until the Resurrection Day to visit the relations of kin even if they have to walk for one year to get to them since this is a part of our religion."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Avoid cutting off from the relations of kin since it causes men to die."
God's Prophet (a.s) said: "No sin speeds up your worldly punishment and the punishment of the Hereafter more than cutting off from the relations of kin and oppression."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "The first part that will talk on the Resurrection Day is the womb that will ask God to keep His ties with whoever kept their ties with it, and to cut off His ties from whoever cut off their ties with it.
Imam Baqir (a.s) said: "Visiting the relations of kin will purify your deeds, fend off calamities, increase your wealth, ease the reckoning, and put off death."
Imam Baqir (a.s) said that God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Treating your parents with kindness and visiting the relations of kin will ease the reckoning." Then the Prophet recited this verse: "Those who join together those things which God hath commanded to be joined.."[The Holy Quran: Ra'd 13:21]
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "God will extend your life and increase your daily bread if you treat your parents with kindness and visit your relations of kin."
Imam Ali ibn Hussein (a.s) said: "Whoever gets married for the sake of God, and visits his relations of kin, God will place a royal crown on his head on the Resurrection Day."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Visit the relations of kin even if it is as short as having a drink of water, and it is best not to hurt your relations of kin."
God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Whoever likes his daily bread to be increased and his death to be put off should visit his relations of kin."

Use rechargeable batteries though it's an expensive product, it's one-time purchase. Recharge when required. (Same applies to cell-phones, MP3s, iPods and Laptops)
The best pens to use would be ink ones. Though if you have to use a ball point pen, buy refills instead of buying new pens. Pencils are much better for rough use! (That's why we used it at school!!!)

Stop printing out Harry Porter, Jeffrey Archer and other e-books. This is a classic example of paper wastage.
If you have forgotten to give double-side prints, make sure you make use of the empty sides as scribbling pads or for your kids' imposition

All of us are big time Googlers. Have you heard of the Blackle search engine? Blackle (Google powered) is a search engine designed all in Rich Black so that your system consumes less power. So change your homepage.
Plastic bags these days indeed come in bright and flamboyant colours and tempt us to take them home with us. But the saying, "Appearances are deceptive" holds true for these plastic things too. Next time, hold back or go prepared to counter temptation with a cloth bag.
Roses, Jasmine, Hibiscus and Peas; All these saplings cost hardly between Rs 10 - 20 each. Can't we afford to plant these in and around our houses? Also, more importantly, caring and maintain them as they grow?
Try to segregate the different kinds of waste into Bio-Degradable (Fruit or vegetable waste) , Recyclable (waste Paper, paper products) and Electronics (Floppy disks, CD-ROMS ). Once you have segregated your thrash, look for specialized trash cans to throw them away.
Try to minimize the use of horns. Honking has drastically increased and this adds to the noise pollution and does not provide a conducive environment to live in.
Use rechargeable batteries though it's an expensive product, it's one-time purchase. Recharge when required. (Same applies to cell-phones, MP3s, iPods and Laptops)
The best pens to use would be ink ones. Though if you have to use a ball point pen, buy refills instead of buying new pens. Pencils are much better for rough use! (That's why we used it at school!!!)

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,
Someone asked, “O" Messenger of Allāh! What should a person do who is not able to observe fast for the whole month due to weakness, menstruation or some other reason?”
Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (S.A.W.W) said:
“They should give food to poor as charity. I swear by Him in whose control is my life that they would get much more than what I have said if they give charity daily. All the creatures of this earth and the heavens cannot even estimate one-tenth of the reward, which that person would get in Paradise.” Someone asked, “O Messenger of Allāh! What should a person do who is not able to pay charity also?” The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.w.) said, “He should recite the following Tasbeeh of Allāh a hundred times daily for thirty days in the month of Rajab:
‘Sub-h’aanal ilaahil jaleeli sub-h’aana mallaa yambaghit tasbeeh’u illaa lahu sub-h’aanal a-a’zzil akrami sub-h’aana man labisal i’zza wahuwa lahu ahl’."

In Al-Mahasin it is narrated that Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Any form of hypocrisy is polytheism. Whoever works for the people should demand his reward from the people, and whoever works for God, his reward is given by God."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Fear God and work for Him. God will fulfill your needs if you work for Him. If you work for anyone other than God, God will leave you to whoever you work for. "
Ibn Arafeh narrated that Imam Reza (a.s) told him: "Woe to you! Whatever you do, God will put an attire on you. If your deeds are good, it will be a beautiful attire, but if your deeds are ugly, it will be an ugly attire."
Umar ibn Yazeed said: "I was dining with Imam Sadiq (a.s) when he recited the verse: "Nay, man will be evidence against himself, even though he were to put up his excuse. [The Holy Quran: Qiyamat 75:14-15] and said: "How can man approach the people (through hypocrisy) in a way opposite to what God knows about? God's Prophet (a.s) said: "Whoever has an intention, God will put on him an attire for that intention. If it is a good intention, it will be a good attire. If it is an ugly
intention, it will be an ugly one."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "Work only for God, not the people, since whatever is for God will remain near God, but whatever is for the people will not go near God. Do not fight with the people over your religion, since fighting will make your hearts ill. God the Almighty told His Prophet (a.s): "It is true thou will not be able to guide everyone whom thou lovest; but God guides those whom He will." [The Holy Quran: Qisas 28:56] and He also said: "Will thou then compel mankind, against their will to believe!" [The Holy Quran: Yunus 10:99]
Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: "Work for God without any hypocrisy and seeking fame, since God will leave whoever works for other than God to his work."
In Rauzat al-Vaezeen it is narrated that God's Prophet (a.s) said: "On the Resurrection Day, those who worshiped the people will be called on to go and get their reward from the same people they worshipped since God does not accept any deeds that are mixed with material worldly affairs."
In Uyun Akhbar al-Reza it is narrated that Imam Reza (a.s) quoted on the authority of his father (a.s) on the authority of his noble grandfather (a.s) who quoted on the authority of Ameer al-Momineen (a.s): "All the world is full of ignorance except places illuminated by knowledge. Knowledge is only arguments unless it is acted upon. And all acts are done out of hypocrisy unless they are done sincerely; and sincerity is subject to disappear unless you consider the final results of your deeds."

Imam Sadiq (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s) that God the Almighty said: "Some of My believers are such that their religious affairs will not improve unless they are affluent and healthy, so I test them by giving them wealth and health. But some other believers are such that their religious affairs will not improve unless they are ill and poor, so I test them by giving them disease and poverty. I am better aware of what will improve the religious affairs of my believing servants. Some of My believing servants are those who strive hard to worship Me. They get up from their warm beds and spend the night in worship, and suffer hardships for Me. Because I love them, I make them fall asleep one or two nights to safeguard their health. They fall asleep until the morning, and then blame themselves. But if I had left them to themselves to worship Me as much as they please, they might get conceited. This conceit would lead them to mischief in their
deeds and this would cause their ruin. Because of their conceit and overestimation of their deeds, they would consider themselves to be superior to others, and think that their worshiping had exceeded the degree of insufficiency. Thus they would get distant from Me thinking that they are close to Me."
Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: "No position is higher than humbleness, and no loneliness is more awesome than conceit. I am amazed at a conceited person who was only a sperm before and will only be a corpse in the future."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): "Moses the son of Imran (a.s) was sitting and Satan approached him wearing a colorful hat.
When Satan got near Moses, he took off his hat and greeted Moses. Moses asked "Who are you?" He said: "Satan." Moses said: "Is that you? God will not let you approach Him." Satan said: "I have come to greet you because of your position near God." Moses asked: "What is this hat?" Satan said: "I attract the people to me with
it." Moses asked: "What sin will allow you to overcome men who commit it?" Satan said: "When man gets conceited and overestimates his good deeds, and underestimates his sins, I can overcome him."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) narrated that God the Almighty told David (a.s): "Give glad tidings to those who commit sins, and admonish the honest ones." David asked: "How should I do this?" God the Almighty said: "O' David! Give glad tidings to those who commit sins that I accept their repentance, and forgive their sins. And admonish the honest people so that they fear being conceited due to their deeds, since whoever gets conceited will be ruined."
Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said in Nahjul Balagheh: "A sin which makes you upset is better for God than a good deed which makes you conceited."
Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: "The worst fear is of conceit."
Imam Sadiq (a.s) narrated that his grandfather (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s): "If sin was not better than conceit for a believer, God would have never let His believing servants commit any sins."

Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.), O Dawood! Curse the killers of Imam Husain (a.s.). There is not a servant that after drinking water remembers Imam Husain (a.s.) and curses his killers, but that Allah will write in his deeds one lakh good deeds, will forgive one lakh sins and raise his position by one lakh grades. (Perhaps it is freeing one lakh people from sins). On the Day of Judgment, Allah will make his heart contented and satisfied.

Imam Sadiq (a.s.), When a Shia knows Imam Husain's (a.s.) right over the people and leaves his house for Imam's (a.s.) ziarat in this condition, without any pride and conceit, then a 1,000 angels accompany him from the right, with another 1,000 angels on the left.
