Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: "A free man remains free under all circumstances. He will
be patient if he suffers from a calamity. He will not break down if he is stormed with
catastrophes, even if he is captured in war, or is hurt and his comfort turns into
hardship.

An example is the Prophet Joseph (a.s), who was deported, imprisoned
and hurt, but his freedom was not affected in the least bit. The darkness of the well
(in which he was left by his brothers), and whatever else that happened to him did
not hurt him at all. Then God honored him and turned the tables around. He made
the oppressor who ruled over him his servant. He appointed Joseph to be His
Prophet, and brought His Mercy upon a nation through him.

This is an example of practicing the art of patience well. You should be patient, too.
You will be victorious. Remain patient until you get divine rewards."
Imam Baqir (a.s) said: “The most deserving person is one who trusts in
God, and has recognized God. Anyone who is pleased with what God has
destined for him shall receive it, and God will grant him a great reward! But if
anyone is not pleased with what God has destined for him shall receive that
which God has destined for him, but God will cancel his reward.”

“God and His angels send blessings on the
Prophet.” [The Holy Quran: Ahzab 33:56] Imam Sadiq (a.s) described it as:
“They will praise the Prophet and send him greetings.” When asked how the
Prophet knew that the angels are sending him their greetings, he replied that
the Unseen World would be unveiled for him.

When asked how a believer knows that he is a true believer, he replied: “Due to his easy submission to God, and his contentment with what he receives there from.”

Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “God the Almighty, the Blessed revealed the
following to the Prophet David (a.s):

“Whoever from among My servants gets disappointed with My creatures and takes refuge in Me, I shall realize his intentions. Then even if the Heavens and the Earth and whatever they contain plot against him, I shall provide means for him to be saved from them. And I shall know the intentions of whomever from among My servants who take refuge in others. Then I will take away from him all the means in the Heavens and the Earth, and leave him alone. I will not be concerned about where he will die.”
Imam Sadiq (a.s) said: “Imam Ali's servant named Ghanbar really liked
him and would always follow him at night with his sword in order to protect
him. One night Imam Ali (a.s) noticed him and asked him what he was doing.
He said: “I am following you.” The Imam (a.s) asked: “Are you trying to protect
me from heavenly or earthly creatures?” He replied: “I am guarding you
against earthly creatures.” The Imam (a.s) said: “Please go home since no
one on Earth can do me any harm unless God' permits so.” Then Ghanbar
returned home.

Holy Prophet Muḥammad  al Mustafā (S.A.W.W) said:

"...Know that if a faithful person fasts (in month of Rajab) seeking reward from Allāh he has gained lots of pleasure of Allāh  The fast of that person would end the anger of Allāh upon him; a door of Hell would be closed for him. The reward of this fast with pure intention is better than giving an earth filled with gold as charity. No object in this world can make his reward complete except good deeds. As soon as night falls, Allāh would fulfill his ten wishes. If he prays for worldly life his prayers would be accepted. One who prays for His friends, lovers and chosen people, Allāh would accept his prayers..."

Imam Ali (a.s) then said: “Do you want me to tell you what will increase your share of daily bread?” The people said: “O' Commander of the Faithful! Yes.” He said: “The following deeds will increase your share of daily bread (Rizq):
  • saying your noon and afternoon, or evening and night prayers one right after the other;

O my Allah, the honour of being Your servant is sufficient.
I am proud of the fact that You are my Lord.
You are just as I want, so make me just as You like me to be.
الهي كفى بي عزّا أن أكون لك عبدا ، وكفى بي فخرا أن تكون لي ربّا
... أنت كما أُحبُّ ،  فاجعلني كما تحبُّ
اللهم عجل لوليك الفرج يا الله
“Whenever you recite “Dua”, have this
impression that what you want is at the door.”

Imam Sadiq (AS) said: "God grants seven hours to repent to any believer who commits a sin.
If he repents in that period, nothing will be recorded in his letter of deeds, but if he does not, then the sin will be recorded."

Almighty Allah says:  O, son of adam! indeed satan is your open enemy, therefore regard him as your enemy. do good deeds for the day on which you will be present in front of almighty allah in groups. in front of allah you will be lined up and you will read your book of deeds, word by word. you will be asked what you have done openly and secretly. then pious people will go towards heaven, group after group. and the sinful people will go towards hell. sufficient for you are the promises of allah. and i am allah you should know! me!i am the sustainer, thus thank me. i am the forgiver, thus seek forgiveness from me. i am the final destination, thus turn towards me. i am the knower of your secrets, thus fear me.
Almighty Allah says: O, son of adam! do not curse my creatures, because the curse will bounce back to you.

o, son of adam! my heavens are suspended in space by one of my names, without any pillars. your hearts are not going to be straightened except by my admonitions from my book.

o, you people, stone does not dissolve in water; in the same way admonitions won’t change your cruel heart.

o, son of adam, why are you not protecting yourself from evil deeds? why are you not protecting yourself from sins? aren’t you afraid of hell? why aren’t you protecting yourself from the wrath of allah? if it were not for ruku’ (the kneeling) of elders(in prayers), suckling babies, grazing animals, humble youths, indeed i would have made the sky of steel, the earth of copper and the mud of pebbles. i would not have send a single drop of water from the sky nor grown a single grain from the earth. i would have poured on you my worst wrath.

ALMIGHTY ALLAH SAYS:
i wonder how a person can be happy, who is certain of death.
i wonder at a person who is certain of reckconing (the day of judgement), but still accumulates wealth.
i wonder at a person who is certain of going into the grave, but still smiles without concern.
i wonder at a person who is certain of this world’s doom, but still has tranquility in loving this world.
i wonder at a person who is certain of the hereafter and its bounties but he still rests.
i wonder at a person who is knowledgeable in his speech, and ignorant in his heart.
i wonder at a person who cleans him/herself with water, but does not cleanse his heart.
i wonder at people who look for bad points in others, but is unaware of the same in themselves.
i wonder at a person who knows that almighty allah is aware of his actions, but still commits sins
.
my being that there is no god but me alone, without any partner and Mohammad (saw) is my servant and messenger.

a person who is not happy with my orders, not patient with my afflictions, not thankful for my bounties, not content with my gifts, then he should look for another lord other than me and he should get out of my universe.
a person who does not get what he wants in this world and becomes sad by it, is as if he is angry with me.
a person who complains to another of calamities which has befallen upon him is as if he has complained about me.
a person who goes to a rich person and humiliates himself because of his wealth, one-third of his faith is lost.
a person who hits himself in front of a dead body is as if he has taken a sword to fight with me and he has ruined ka’ba with his hands.

Funny, Isn't it?

* Funny how a £10 note looks so big when you take it to the mosque, but so small when you take it to the market.

* Funny how long it takes to do Zikr (remember Allah) for an hour, but how quickly a team plays 60 minutes of football.
* Funny how long a couple of hours spent at the mosque are, but how short they are when watching a movie.
* Funny how we can't think of anything to say when we pray, but don't have difficulty thinking of things to talk about to a friend.
* Funny how we get thrilled when a football game goes into extra itime, but we complain when a lecture at the centre is longer than the regular time.
* Funny how hard it is to read a chapter of the Holy Quran, but how easy it is to read 100 pages of a best selling novel.
* Funny how people want to get a front seat at any game or concert, but scramble to get a back row at mosque so that they can scramble out fast.
* Funny how we need 2 or 3 weeks advance notice to fit a mosque event into our schedule, but can adjust our schedule for other events at the last moment.
* Funny how hard it is for people learn a simple preaching well enough to tell others, but how simple it is for the same people to understand and repeat gossip.
* Funny how we believe what the newspaper says, but question what the Quran says.
* Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, or to think, or to say, or do anything.

MAGHFIRAT-TAWBA (REPENTANCE)  from book 'Power of prayers'
It is very essential for every person to do Tawba and seek Maghfirat from Allah for our sins, mistakes, and wrongdoings that were committed either knowingly or unknowingly. Allaah (S.W.T.) prefers the one who seeks pardon from Him and He is at that instance as happy as the one who had lost his every belonging and then suddenly found it in front of him. To seek pardon from Allaah (S.W.T.) is the remedy for every problem. Once a person came to Imam Ali (A.S.) and asked him for the solution of repaying the debts, he was told to do Tawba and seek repentance from Allaah. The other person came asking for the remedy of a sickness, he was prescribed the same thing. Yet another person came asking for the bestowing of an offspring from Allaah and he was also told to do Istighfaar as much as possible. It should not be forgotten that we, being human beings are prone to committing sins, The sinless are nobody in the universe except the Ma’sumeen (A.S.) and the Prophets of Allah (A.S.) Might be there are some Qaza Namaaz we have forgotten, or there might be some Namaaz prayed not on its time or hastily without due concentration; might be there are some Roza which were made Baatil and we do not know; might be there were some unobserved rights of our parents, children, of our relatives, neighbours, our teachers and scholars, of our workers, the needy and poor etc. It might also be that we have made mistakes in our earnings by taking that which was Haraam. Might be that we have not paid Khums or Zakaat properly. Might be in the case of performing Hajj or Ziyarat we have made some mistakes. Might be that we have committed some mistakes in our young age or because of improper understanding, or because of worldly attachment. And might be that we have not properly propagated our religion which is the duty of every individual according to the extent of his/her ability. It should be kept in mind that while one seeks repentance then it should be a sincere repentance, that he or she is really sorry for the sins committed, a firm resolution not to repeat again, and if anything unbecoming has occurred due to the sins it must be rectified to the best possible way. The wronged ones should be repaid, and some hardships should be taken on oneself so as to realize the gravity of past sins, and the flash and fat accumulated by wrongful means should be dissolved by means of fasting.I hereby mention a few ways to seek Maghfirat (repentance) from Allah (S.W.T.):

(1)         Recite “Astaghfirullaah Rabbee Wa Atoobu Ilayh” as many times as possible, with sincerity.
(2)         Try your best to wake up early before dawn to pray Namaaz-e-Tahajjud (Shab). There are fourty plus advantages in it.
(3)         At any time pray two rak’at Namaaz, niyyat – Namaaz-e-Afw: In each rak’at recite Surah-e-Qadr after Al-Hamd and then recite fifteen times “Rabbee Afwaka”, then go in Rukoo, after its zikr recite ten times “Rabbee Afwaka”, then before going in Sajdah recite ten times “Rabbee Afwaka”, then in the Sajdah recite it ten times after its zikr, then in between two Sajdah again recite it ten times, then in the second Sajdah recite ten times the same, then before standing for the second rak’at recite ten times the same (Rabbee Afwaka), and pray the same way during the second rak’at also.
(4)         Perform Sunnat ghusl, do Wudhoo, and recite Ziyarat of Bibi Fatima (S.A.) and then recite Istighfaar, or any Duaa for repentance. (ref. Mafaatihul Jinaan)
(5)         Recite Duaa-e-Tawba. (ref. M.Jinaan or Majmooa)
(6)         Recite these Surah of Holy Qur’an – S.Yaaseen, S.Tahreem, S.Waaqiah, S.Kaafiroon. Specifically, S.Tahreem carries Sawaab of Tawba-e-Nasooh.
(7)         Recite Ziyarat of Imam Radhaa (A.S.) It is also a means of having our sins being pardoned.
(8)         These magnificent Duaas are also a means of wiping our sins away: Duaa-e-Mashlool, Duaa-e-Mujeer, Jawshan-e-Kabeer, Sayfi Sagheer, etc.
(9)         Namaaz-e-Rasoolullaah (S.A.W.W.): Sins are forgiven and Hajaat fulfilled. Time for this prayer is preferable Friday morning, but it may be prayed on any time. (For the method of this Namaaz refer Mafaatihul Jinaan).
(10)     Namaaz-e-Ameerul Mu’mineen (A.S.): Its merits are as mentioned above.
(11)     Namaaz-e-Wasiyyat: To earn great Sawaab and sins forgiven, in between Maghrib and Ishaa pray two rak’at Namaaz, in each rak’at after Al-Hamd recite 13 times Surah Zilzaal and 15 times S.Tawheed. [*]
(12)     Recitation of Salawaat is also a means of atonement for the past sins.
(13)     This is also very effective A’amaal to make our sins disappear from our A’amaalnaama: Perform Sunnat Ghusl then do Wudhoo and offer 4 rak’at Namaaz, in each rak’at after Al-Hamd recite 3 times S.Ikhalaas and once S.Maoozatain (S.Falak and S.Naas). After completing the Namaaz recite 70 times “Astaghfirullaah Rabbee Wa Atoobu Ilayh”, then recite the following Duaa: “Laa Hawla Walaa Quwwata Illaa Billaahil Aliyyil Adhweem, Yaa Azeezu Yaa Ghaffaar, Ighfirlee Dhunoobee, wa Dhunoobi Jamee’il Mu’mineena Wal Mu’minaat, Fa Innahoo Laa Yaghfirudh Dhunooba Illa Anta”.
(14)     If one recites Surah As-Sajdah on the eve of Friday (Shab-e-Jummah) his or her A’amaalnaama (deed’s record) will be given in the right hand, and this will be an indication of being pardoned of every sin.
(15)     Reciting Surah-e-Dukhaan in Wajib or Sunnat Namaaz is a way to clear our account of sins.
(16)     Pray 2 rak’at Namaaz in which recite 60 times S.Ikhlaas (Qulhuwallaah…) in each rak’at after Al-Hamd.
(17)     Recitation of Duas specifically for Maghfirat can be found in Mafaatihul Jinaan and Pirmuhammad Ebrahim Trust’s Books of DUAA, which are there in various volumes.
(18)     A very effective Namaaz for the forgiveness of sins is: Namaaz-e-Ghufayla. In between Maghrib and Ishaa prayers pray 2 rak’at, in the first rak’at after Al-Hamd recite this – Wa Dhannooni Idh-Dhahaba Mughaadhiban Fadhanna Anlan Naqdira Alayhi Fa Naadaa Fidh-Dhulumaati An Laa Ilaaha Illaa Anta Sub’haanaka Innee Kuntu Minadh-Dhwaalimeen Fastajabnaa Lahoo Wa Najjaynaahu Minal Ghammi Wa Kadhaalika Nunjil Mu’mineen. Then continue the Namaaz as usual until you reach the second rak’at, there after Al-hamd recite this: Wa Indahoo Mafaatihul Ghaybi Laa Ya’alamuhaa Illaa Huwa Wa Ya’alamu Maa Fil Barri Wal Bahri Wamaa Tasqutu Min Waraqatin Illaa Ya’alamuhaa Walaa Habbatin Fee Dhulumaatil Ardhi Walaa Ratbin Walaa Yaabisin Illaa Fee Kitaabin Mubeen. Then in Qunoot recite this: Allaahumma Bi Mafaatihul Ghaybil-Latee Laa Ya’alamuhaa Illaa Anta, Antu Swallee Alaa Muhammadin Wa Aali Muhammadin Wa An Taf’alabee… here beg your Haajat Then recite: Allaahumma Anta Waliyyu Ni’amatee Wal Qaadiroo Alaa Twalibatee Ta’alamoo Haajatee Fa As’aluka Bihaqqe Muhammadin Wa Aalihee Alayhimus-Salaam Lammaa Qadhwaytahaa Lee.
(19)     Duaa of Hazrat Ilyaas (A.S.) in Sajdah: Ataraak Muazzabi wa qad adhma’tu laka hawaajiri, Ataraak Muazzabi wa qad affartu laka fitturaabi wajhee, Ataraak Muazzabi wa qad ijtanabtu lakal ma’aaswee, Ataraak Muazzabi wa qad as’hartu laka layli.
(In this Duaa the supplicant pleads to the Almighty that:
O Allaah, shall You, The Most Merciful, be happy to see me burning in fire and in great torments although I have been observing fasts in hot weathers and endured acute thirst, and I have restrained from sins to please You only, and will You be happy to see me burning while I have kept night vigils for Your worship?)
(20)     To be pardoned of our sins, Imaam Ja’afar Saadiq (A.S.) said,: Everyday in the last Sajdah of the Naafilah of Ishaa, and especially on Thursday-night, recite this Duaa 7 times:
“Allaahumma Innee As’aluka Bi Wajhikal Kareem, Wa Ismikal Adhweem, Antuswalli Alaa Muhammadin Wa Aali Muhammad, Wa An Taghfira Lee Dhanbiyal Adhweem.”
(21)     Rasoolullaah (S.A.W.W.) said that whoever recites these seven verses on the Friday-eve, when he shall die he shall be directly admitted to Jannat:
“Allaahumma Anta Rabbee. Laa Ilaaaha Illaa Anta Khalaqtanee Wa Anaa Abduka Wabnu Amatik Wa Fee Qabdhatik Wa Naaswiyatee Bi Yadik Amsaytu Alaa Ahdik Wa Wa’adik Mastatwa’atu Aoodhu Bi Ridhaak Min Sharri Maa Swana’atu Aboo’u Bi Ni’amitik Bi Amali Wa Aboo’u Bi Dhambi Faghfirlee Dhunoobee Innahoo Laa Yaghfirudh-Dhunooba Illaa Anta.”
(22)     Insistance in a request and keeping asking continuously gives favourable result. The Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) said, “A servent of God says: O God! Forgive me. But God turns away from him. Again he will say: O God! Forgive me. God turns away from him the second time. The man again says:O God! Forgive me. Here God says to the Angels: Don’t you see My servent? He asked Me for forgiveness while I was turning away from him. He askekd for forgiveness for the second time. I turned away from him again. He asked for forgiveness for the third time. My servent realized that no one but Me forgives the sins. I take you as witness that I have forgiven him.”
(23)     Reciting Surah-e-Takaasur at bedtime saves one from Fishaar-e-Qabr. [*]
Seeking Forgiveness /Repentance / Isteghfar

Istighfar means seeking forgiveness of Allah for the sins so far committed and turning repentant unto Allah.

Ibn Abbas relates that the was in the company of Imam Ali when a man came and said Mawla, I have transgressed much "Imam Ali told him: PRAY ISTIGHFAAR.  Another man came and said : Mawla my land has become arid and parched, what shall I do ?.  Imam Ali told him PRAY ISTIGHFAR.  After a few moments another came and said Mawla I am poverty stricken.  Nothing I do bearts fruit.  Is there any remedy.  Imam Ali said: PRAY ISTIGHFAR.  Then another man came and said : Mawla Allah has not yet blessed me with a child.  What should I do.  Imam Ali told him PRAY ISTIGHFAR.

I asked him : O AMIRUL MUMININ - though the problems were different, but to each of them you advised to pray ISTIGHFAAR.  Imam Ali said : Because Allah says in surah Nuh: And I said : seek forgiveness of your Lord.  Verily he is ever most forgiving.  He will send you abundant rain from the heaven and will help you with wealth and sons, and will make for you gardens and will make for your rivers.
Rajab An Important spiritual month
Rajab marks the beginning of the spiritual season of every believer ending with the end of the fasting month of Ramadan with the Eid Al Fitr. These three months are unmatched in their importance. Praise be to the Almighty and thanks to Him for granting us yet another opportunity to cleanse ourselves of our sins and oversights.

The Holy Prophet (SAW) has said: “ Rajab is a great month of Allah, unmatched by any other month in the respect and significance (accorded to it); war with the infidels during this month is prohibited; Verily, Rajab is Allah’s month, Sha’aban my month and Ramadan the month of my Ummah; whosoever fasts a day in the month of Rajab will be granted the great reward of Ridwan (an angel in heaven); the wrath of Allah shall be distanced and a door of the Hell shall be closed.”

Fasting is one of the most recommended acts during this spiritual season. It becomes Wajib during the month of Ramadan, but is highly recommended during the months of Rajab and Sha’baan. As will be noted from the Hadith above and others to follow, fasting, be it for only one day during these months, is rewarded with untold bounties.

Salmaan Farsi narrates that the Final messenger of Allah (SAW) said that there is a day in the month of Rajab on which if a person fasts and does Qiyaamul Lail (night vigil ) on that night, he will receive rewards like a person who fasts for 100 years and does Qiyaamul Lail for nights of 100 years. This night is the night of the 27th (Rajab) and the day of the 27th (Rajab). This is the day on which Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) was appointed to Messengerhood, (Ghuniyatut Talibeen, Tarteeb Shareef page 781)
Imam Kazim (a.s.) is reported to have said "Rajab is (the name of) a River in paradise that is whiter than milk & sweeter than honey. Allah will allow one to drink from this river if he fasts for even one day in this month. It is also a month of seeking forgiveness more than usual as Allah is forgiving & merciful during this month.

Salaat of Janabe Salman Farsi (the noble companion )
Hadrat Salmaan narrates that the Beloved of Allah, Hazrat Muhammad (SAW) said "O Salmaan, there is no Mumin (True Believer) and Muminah (Truly Believing Female) who performs 30 Raka'ah in the month of Rajab ( 10 units on 1st , 10 units on 15th & 10 units last day) and in each Raka'ah recites Surah Al Faatihah once, Surah Al-Ikhlaas 3 times, and Surah Al Kafiroon 3 times that Allah does forgive them their sins and bestows rewards upon them as upon a person who has fasted a whole month. He becomes among those who will be steadfast in their salaat in the year which is to come. For him the deeds of the day is equal to that of the martyr. He will be raised with the Martyrs of the Holy Battle of Badr. For him is written for the fast of each day, one year's worship. His station is raised 1000 times higher.

If he fasts the entire month of Rajab and he performs this (Above) Salaat, Allah will give him salvation from the Hell Fire, make Waajib for him, His Paradise and bestow His Nearness upon him. Hadrat Jibreel informed me "O Muhammad this is the sign between you and the Mushrikeen (Polytheists) and the Munaafiqeen (Hypocrites) because the Munafiq does not perform this Salaat."

10 Raka'ah on the first of it (month of Rajab) and in each Raka'ah recite Surah Al-Faatihah once, Surah Al Ikhlaas thrice and Surah Al Kafiroon thrice and after you do your Salaam (at the end of each 2 units) raise your hands and say:
لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ،
la ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la shareka lahu,
There is no god save Allah, alone without any partner.
لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ،
lahu almulku wa lahu alhamdu,
To him is the kingdom and to Him is all praise.
يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ،
yuhye wa yumetu,
He gives life and causes to die
وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لا يَمُوتُ،
wa huwa hayyun la yamutu,
while He is Ever-living and never dies.
بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ،
biyadihi alkhayru
In His hand is the good
وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.
wa huwa `ala kull shay‘in qaderun.
and He has power over all things.
"There is no God but Allah, The One Who has no partners. To Him belongs all His kingdom and all the praise, Who created life and death and Who is Alive without Death. From His hands (only) good is done and Who has Power over everything.
The following invocation should be said thereafter:
O Allah: verily, none can ever divest him whom You decide to give;
allahumma la mani`a lima a`tayta
اللّهُمَّ لا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ،
and none can ever give him whom You decide to deprive,
wa la mu`tiya lima mana`ta
وَلا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ،
and nothing can ever stop that which You decide.
wa la yanfa`u dhaljadd minka aljadd
وَلا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدَّ.
Dearest Allah, no one can stop what You bestow and no one can give what You prevent. There is no one who can profit us except You the August among all. "Then spread your hands over your face.
In the middle of the month 15 Rajab perform similar 10 Raka'ah and in each Raka'ah recite Surah Al Faatihah once, Surah Al Ikhlaas thrice, and Surah Al Kafiroon thrice and after you do your salaam (at the end of each 2 units) raise your hands towards the heavens and say:
لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ،
la ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la shareka lahu,
There is no god save Allah, alone without any partner.
لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ،
lahu almulku wa lahu alhamdu,
To him is the kingdom and to Him is all praise.
يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ،
yuhye wa yumetu,
He gives life and causes to die
وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لا يَمُوتُ،
wa huwa hayyun la yamutu,
while He is Ever-living and never dies.
بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ،
biyadihi alkhayru
In His hand is the good
وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.
wa huwa `ala kull shay‘in qaderun.
and He has power over all things.
Then recite:-
The Lord Who is One, One and Only, Singular, and Besought by the all.
ilahan wahidan ahadan fardan samadan
إلهاً وَاحِداً أَحَداً فَرْداً صَمَداً،
He has betaken neither a wife nor a son.
lam yattakhidh sahibatan wa la waladan
لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَلا وَلَداً.
Then spread your hands over your face
At the end of the month, similar 10 Raka'ah. In every Raka'ah recite Surah Al Faatihah one, Surah Al Ikhlaas thrice and Surah Al Kafiroon thrice. After you do your salaam, raise your hand towards the heaven and say:
لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ،
la ilaha illa allahu wahdahu la shareka lahu,
There is no god save Allah, alone without any partner.
لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ،
lahu almulku wa lahu alhamdu,
To him is the kingdom and to Him is all praise.
يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ،
yuhye wa yumetu,
He gives life and causes to die
وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لا يَمُوتُ،
wa huwa hayyun la yamutu,
while He is Ever-living and never dies.
بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ،
biyadihi alkhayru
In His hand is the good
وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ.
wa huwa `ala kull shay‘in qaderun.
and He has power over all things.
Then recite
May Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and upon his Family, the Immaculate.
wa salla allahu `ala muhammadin wa alihi alttahirena,
وَصَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ،
There is neither might nor power save with Allah, the Most High, the All-great.
wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billahi al`aliyy al`a¨emi
وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إلاّ بِاللّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ.
And the blessing of Allah be upon the Master Muhammad and upon his pure progeny and there is no power greater than that of Allah Who is the Greatest in Might. Then, one should pass the hands over the face and submit his requests
Your Supplication will be accepted and Allah will create 70 trenches between you and the Hell fire, the distance between each trench will be like it is between Heaven and Earth and written for you will be freedom from Fire of Hell, and from crossing the Bridge of Siraat."
When the Prophet (saw) had finished, I fell down in prostration, weeping out of gratitude towards Allah for the abundance of the rewards.
Note:~ Salat is in pairs of 2 Raka'ah, doing the salaam after each pair. This way we do 10 Raka'ah in 5 pairs and the supplication after the salaam of the fifth pair. Allah and his beloved know the best, (Ghuniyatut Talibeen, Tarteeb Shareef Page 756 - 770).
Istighfar: The Holy Prophet (saww) has said, "Rajab is the month for seeking forgiveness, so seek forgiveness from Allah (swt)".

Sadaqah: Giving `Sadaqah' (charity/alms) is also highly recommended

Bismilla-heer-Rahmaneer-Raheem

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Imām Mūsā ibn Ja‘far al-Kāzim (A.S.) said:

"Rajab is a river of Paradise whiter than milk and sweeter than honey. One who observes one fast in the month of Rajab, Allah, the Mighty and Sublime would satisfy him with this river."

God's Prophet (a.s) said: “O' Ali! Give good tidings of ten traits to your helpers and followers:

1- Being born legitimately
2- Good belief in God
3- The Almighty God's love for them
4- Ease and comfort in their grave
5- A bright light illuminating their path when they want to pass the road to the Hereafter
6- Elimination of poverty from their sight and their hearts
7- God's animosity with their enemies
8- Immunity from leprosy
9- Shedding of sins and the wickedness
10- They shall be with me in Heaven, and I shall be with them.”

Imam Baqir (a.s) said: “Ali's followers look pale, slim, and thirsty. Their lips are dry. Their color is changing. Their face is yellow. At night they sleep on the ground, and prostrate on dirt. They prostrate a lot, shed tears and pray often. The people are happy but they are sad.”

Imam Baqir (a.s) said that God's Prophet (a.s) was asked about the believers. He said: “Believers will get happy whenever they perform a good deed, and ask for God's forgiveness whenever they do a wicked act. They will be grateful whenever they are granted something. They will be patient when they are in trouble, and will forgive whenever they are angry.”

Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said: “Even if I hit a believer's nose with my sword in order to make him my enemy, he will not become my enemy. Also even if I bestow the whole universe to a hypocrite to make him like me, he will not like me. This is because of God's words that were expressed by the illiterate Prophet:

O' Ali! No believer will ever become your enemy, and no hypocrite will ever become your friend.”
