O' Amirul Mo'minin (as)! Purify me for I have committed sodomy with a boy.” | for everyone |
Once, Amirul Mo'minin (as) was in the company of his companions when a person approached him and said: “O' Amirul Mo'minin (as)! Purify me for I have committed sodomy with a boy.”
“Go home for you appear to have been affected by bile or melancholia,” advised the Imam (as).
The next day the person turned up again and confessed to his dirty act but the Imam (as) repeated what he had previously stated. The third day too he confessed and again Imam Ali (as) repeated his earlier advice. When the man arrived on the fourth day and confessed to his crime.

The next day the person turned up again and confessed to his dirty act but the Imam (as) repeated what he had previously stated. The third day too he confessed and again Imam Ali (as) repeated his earlier advice. When the man arrived on the fourth day and confessed to his crime.
Imam (as) said: “Now that you have confessed four times, choose one of the three punishments, which the Noble Prophet (sa) has stipulated for this act -
to be beheaded by means of a sword,
to be hurled down from a height or
to be burned with your hands and feet tied.”
“Which of these three punishments would be the severest for me?” the man asked.
“Burning by fire.”
“O' Ali! (as), I choose this punishment.”
The Imam (as) told him to prepare for it. The man got up, offered a two-rak'at prayer and supplicated: “O' Lord! I have committed sin and You are aware of it. Fearing Your wrath, I have approached the successor and the cousin of the Noble Prophet (sa) and have asked him to purify me of it. He asked me to choose one of the three punishments and I have chosen the most severe one. O' Lord! I plead to You by Your mercy to make my burning in this world an expiation for my sin and not to burn me in the Hereafter!”
Having said this, he got up, began to weep and then hurled himself into the pit of roaring flames. The Imam (as) began to weep when he saw this and so did his companions; then he said in a loud voice: “O' Man! Rise from within the fire for you have caused the angels to weep. Allah has accepted your repentance. Rise and henceforth do not conduct such an act!”
It is reported in another tradition that a person asked Ali (as), “O' Amirul Mo'minin (as)! Do you invalidate the punishment of Allah?”
Imam Ali (as) replied, “Woe unto you! Whenever there exists an Imam appointed by Allah and a sinner repents for his sin, it is upon Allah to forgive him.”

No ! By Allah I will not permit you even a drop of wine.... | for everyone |
Abu Basir says that Umme Khalid Abadiya presented herself before Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (a.s.) when Abu Basir was also present. Umme Khalid said; "May I be sacrificed for you, on the day of Qiyamat I will tell Allah that I have done as commanded by Jafar ibn Muhammad (a.s.). Physicians have told me to knead the flour with grape wine and eat the bread. This will cure the terrible pain of my heart. I ask you, shall I do this ?"
Imam Jafar as-Sadiq (a.s.) replied to Umme Khalid; "No ! By Allah I will not permit you even a drop of wine. Don't taste even a drop of it. Otherwise when your soul reaches here (Imam pointed towards his throat) you will only regret."
Then Imam (a.s.) asked Umme Khalid thrice.
"Have you understood ?" "Yes", replied Umme Khalid.
A student of Fuzail Ibne Ayaz was on the death-bed. Fuzail came to him, and sitting near his head began to recite Surah Yasin. The disciple told his teacher, "Do not recite the Quran!" Fuzail became silent. Then he began to urge his disciple to repeat "La ilaha illallah". The student said: "I will not repeat this formula because I am disgusted with it !" And he died in the same condition.
Fuzail Ibne Ayaz was extremely perturbed. He returned home after completing his duties and went to sleep. He saw his student undergoing punishment. He asked him, "What is the reason of your being deprived of faith (Imaan) at the time of your death? You were one of my best students."
The student replied: "There are three reasons, firstly, I used to backbite too much, secondly, I used to be jealous, thirdly, a physician had prescribed for my malady a cup of wine every year. He told me that if I do not drink, the disease will never be cured. Every year I drank one cup of wine."
The Evil Effects of Adultery in this World and the Hereafter | for everyone |
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) says:-
"Fornication has six types of effects. Three are for this world and three for the Hereafter.
The three evils which become evident in this world are:-
1. The face of the adulterer loses countenance.
2. He falls into depravity and destitution.
3. His death draws near.
And the three punishments for Hereafter are:
1. He is liable for Divine anger.
2. His reckoning is severe.
3. He abides forever in Hell.
Fornicator in the Barzakh
The fifth Imam (a.s.) has also said,
"Whoever commits Fornication with a Muslim, Jew, Christian or Magian woman, whether she is a slave or a free woman; and dies without repenting of his sin, then the Almighty Allah opens three hundred doors of punishment in his grave. From each door many snakes, scorpions and pythons emerge from the fire and burn and torment him till the Day of Qiyamat."
Fornicator on the Day of Judgement
Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) describes the fornicator in detail and says that when he would be raised from his grave on the Day of Judgement he shall be in a horrible state.
The Imam says, "When a fornicator will rise from his grave the stink of his body shall hurt the people. The people will know what deeds he had committed in the world. Till the Almighty Allah would order him to be thrown into the fire."
Then Imam Baqir (a.s.) continues, "Know that Allah has prohibited Himself the haraam things. He has also prescribed the rules and regulations of life. No one is more modest than Allah. It is His modesty that He has prohibited Fornication."
Paradise is at the feet of your mother. | for everyone |
It is reported that a young man approached the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and asked, "O Prophet of Allah (s.a.w.s.), I have a mother who is an invalid. She cannot even move by herself. I carry her on my back and feed her with my hands. I also clean her excreta. Have I fulfilled her rights?". The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) replied, "No. Because you have remained in the womb for a long period during which you derived your nourishment from her body. She was every busy in caring and protecting you at all costs. Inspite of such hardships she always wished a long life for you. But you are waiting for her to die so that you may relieved of the responsibility of taking care of her."
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) described the eminence of a mother's position in the following statement:
1. "If you are praying a mustahab prayer and your father calls you, do not break your prayer but if your mother calls, break the prayer." Truly, this assigns a remarkably high status to a mother. The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) states, "Paradise is at the feet of your mother." Hence one need not go far in search of Paradise.

of the Holy Prophet S.A.W
of the Holy Prophet S.A.W
Wafaat: 26th Rajab , 10 Besat
Buried: Jannat-ul-Moalla (Mecca)
The Holy grandson of Hazrat Hashim, the precious son of Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib , the real brother of Hazrat Abdullah , the devoted husband of Janabe Fatema Binte-Asad , the chaste father of Hazrat Ali A.S and the brave uncle of the Noble Messenger S.A.W was born in Mecca in 535 AD , 35 years before the birth of his holy nephew , Hazrat Muhammad S.A.W. Today we mourn for the demise of this elevated , grand , dignified , splendid , stately , noble and regal personality. Let us step back in time to get a picture of the favours of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S.
The holy uncle of our holy Prophet S.A.W was the son of Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib-Bin-Hashim-Bin-Abd-Manaf-Bin-Qasi. His forefathers were known to be the most honourable , honest and pious personalities. From the beginning , the caretaking of the House of the Lord had always been in the hands of this family and the forefathers of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S never bowed before an idol but always worshipped the one and only , Allah. They were firmly steadfast on the right path Hazrat Ibrahim A.S had shown.
The grandfather of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S , Hazrat Hashim was born with a twin brother , Abdush-Shams. The front part of the foot of Hazrat Hashim was joint to the forehead of Abdush-Shams which was seperated by a sword. Of course due to this seperation a lot of blood was shed and most famous scholars have predicted this seperation the cause of the everlasting enmity between Bani Abbas (Hashimites) and Bani Umayya (Shamsites). The flame of Bani Umayya extincted in 133 A.H.
Janabe Hashim had two sons , Janabe Asad and Janabe Abdul-Mottalib . Hazrat Hashim died when Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib was an infant. The upbringing of Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib was taken care of his uncle Mottalib. As he was brought up by his chaste uncle he turned out to be similar in the pious characteristics. All the good qualities were present in his character and his generousity was so open that not only were the people invited to share his food but the animals as well. Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib's worship place was the Mount Hira where he devoted himself to his Lord , Allah. His trust in his Creator have been specified by the wellknown story of Abraha and his intention to destroy Khana-e-Kaaba. I will not get into the details of this story but wanted to mark the faith in Allah of Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib.
The mighty Lord granted Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib with 10 sons , 1. Harith , 2. Hajal 3. Abu-Lahab , 4. Abbas , 5. Abdullah , 6. Hamza , 7. Abu-Talib , 8. Zubair , 9. Maqoom and 10. Zeraar. Janabe Abdullah and Hazrat Abu-Talib were brothers with the same mother , Janabe Fatema binte-Umar-o-Makhzoomi. Hazrat Abdullah married to Hazrat Amena Binte-Wahab and this noble couple were about to become the mother and father of the Final Apostle of Allah , Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W. Our Holy Prophet S.A.W became an orphan before his birth as His holy Father left this mortal world before the birth of his son and never had the chance to see his holy child spreading the true and only religion of Allah among the people in the Arab who lived in the Age of Ignorance.
When the noble Messenger S.A.W was 6 years old he was without the shelter of love and affection of his holy mother. The protection of the holy Prophet S.A.W was handled by His grandfather Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib who loved his grandchild very much. But after two years the holy Prophet S.A.W witnessed the demise of his grandfather in 578 AD. Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib , on his deathbed , gathered all his children to present his last will. Thereafter he asked all his children that : " Who among you all will empower the protection of Muhammad (S.A.W) the way I did ?" They all answered that it would be better if Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W chosed his guardian himself. When Hazrat Abdul-Mottalib asked his beloved grandson he witnessed the intimate love bond between Hazrat Abu-Talib and his holy nephew as the Noble Messenger S.A.W embraced his uncle and showed all his chosen guardian. Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S promised himself to give his life for the complete protection of his holy nephew. And surely he kept his promise.
Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S was the guardian angel of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W , the unbreakable wall of protection , the shield of the message of Islam. He overcome his enemies and showed them the true devotion for Allah. His laps was bestowed not only the prophethood but also the Imamate. Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S loved his nephew more than he loved his own children. After the Holy Prophet S.A.W was appointed by Allah to the holy mission , the Kuffar-e-Quraish made the muslims impossible to survive in Mecca. The killing and torturing was increasing day by day and for Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S the task of the protection of his nephew was now on the top of its trial. But all the hardships made Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S more stronger and more patient.
The enemies of Islam couldn't stand the fast spreading of the true religion of Allah and felt threatened by the preachings of the Holy Prophet S.A.W. Hazrat Abu-Talib knew how much in danger the life of his precious nephew was. Hence he never let him be out of his sight. Wherever he went he brought Him along and guarded him during the nights more than in daylight. The hypocrites of the Arab increased in number and had nothing on their mind but to put an end to the life of the noble Messenger S.A.W. Even the uncle of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W , Abu-Lahab had turned against his nephew. One day a group of the Kuffare-Quraish visited the house of Abu-Talib A.S and the intention of this visit was to persuade the holy Messenger S.A.W to quit his mission. They said to Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S :
" Your nephew , Muhammad , is propagating a new religion. He humiliates our idols , therefore we ask you to leave him to us so that we can kill him or else you can fight with us."
Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S managed to get rid of them this time but they all came back again with the same evil decisions. This time Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S told his nephew the whole story of their intentions. Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W replied :
" My dear uncle , what I am preaching , I will continue to preach. I will not stand back for the reason of some threats of the hypocrites nor will I be bribed. By the Lord , even if they put the sun on my right hand and the moon on the left hand , I will not withdraw my holy mission because Allah is my Protector."
Hearing this brave reply from the holy Prophet S.A.W , Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S was rejoiced and said: " My precious nephew , indeed you will continue your Divine mission and I promise you that as long as your uncle is alive no one will even dare to stare at you." A few days later the Kuffare-Quraish came with a ridiculous proposal. They said to Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S that : " Give us your nephew , so that we can kill him and in return we give you a young boy of our tribe." Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S replied: " You all have lost your mind. How can I do so. You ask me to take care of your boy and leave my nephew for you to kill him." That was it.The enemies of Islam were now hidden in every corner and the shelter of the protection of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W was strengthened by Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S.
He gathered people from the tribe of Bani Hashim and Bani Muttalib and sent a message to the hypocrites that : " If I see someone make a move to harm my nephew I will not hesitate one moment in killing that person !" The enmity went now so far that a statute was organised by the Kuffare-Quraish which was a complete breakoff with the tribes of Bani Hashim and Bani Muttalib. In 7th of Besat , the group of Bani Hashim and Bani Muttalib along with Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S and the holy Prophet S.A.W was forced to enter the Shaub-e-Abu-Talib . They suffered the hardships for 3 long years but Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S continued to protect his holy nephew.
After 3 years when the hypocrites couldn't no longer stand the hearing of the screaming and crying of the children at nights , they decided to do something about it but didn't come to a resolution. Meanwhile they were discussing this matter , Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S entered in their discussion.
He said: " My nephew , Muhammad, have told me that everything that was written in your statute have been faded away except the name of Allah. Go and check this out , if my nephew is wrong then you can continue with your evil plans and if my nephew is telling the truth then release us from this pain."
When the Kuffare-Quraish examined their statute they testified the truthness of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W. This moment many people converted to Islam. But the suffering and the calamaties had made a deep mark in the soul of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S . After the years of suffering in Shaub-e-Abu-Talib the uncle of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa A.S became weakened in health. 8 months and 11 days later the noble soul of the brave uncle of Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W left this mortal world on the 26th of Rajab in 10 Besat. In one narration there is mentioned that Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S breathed his last in the month of Shawwal. He was 86 years old when he departured from this world. The death of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S was a major grief for Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa S.A.W as he had lost his brave , magnanimous uncle who sacrificed his life for the protection of Islam. After the death of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S the noble Messenger S.A.W was attacked by another grief when his holy wife Ummul-Momeneen Janabe Khadijat-ul-Kubra died. Due to the loss of such two great personalities the holy Prophet S.A.W announced this year as : The Aamul-Huzn (the year of grief).
How can any writer pen the merits and the favours of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S , but I hope my Lord , the Noble Prophet S.A.W and the Commander of the Faithful will forgive my mistakes in this article. The faulse accusations about the faith of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S is only due to the little knowledge of the true lifehistory of Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S. I don't want to attack anyone but all should know that it is the duty of every muslim to delve into the history of Islam before we express ourself.
May Imam-e-Zamana A.S accept the condolences from all momeneen and momenaat on the day of the demise of the guardian of Islam ,
Hazrat Abu-Talib A.S.

Written by Sughra Khatoon daughter of Maulana Maqbool AhmedDO YOUR OWN WORK.. | for everyone |
Once The Holy Prophet (SAW) was travelling with a caravan. It was very hot and dry and everyone was very tired and thirsty. When they reached a small lake, everyone jumped off their camels and rushed towards the water to take a drink and wash their faces. The Holy Prophet (SAW) also went towards the lake to refresh himself; but after taking a few steps he paused and returned back to his camel.
Everyone was shocked. "What's wrong?", they asked each other. "Why is he going back?!", they wondered. The travellers watched the Prophet (SAW) with all curiosity and then they saw him tie his camel and return back.
After seeing this, they approached and told the Prophet (SAW): "You went all the way back to tie your camel? Why didn't you tell us to do it for you? It would have been an honour for us to do your work for you."
The Prophet (SAW) replied: "Never rely on others for doing your agenda; even if it is for getting a piece of Miswaak."

wa an taghfira lana ma anta bihi minna a`lamu
and that You forgive us that which You know better than we do.
ya man ya`lamu wa la na`lamu
O He Who knows while we do not.
allahumma barik lana fi laylatina hadhihi
O Allah: (please do) bless us at this night
allaty bisharafi alrrisalati fazaltaha
which You have exalted with the honor of the Divine Mission,
wa bikaramatika ajlaltaha
and You have esteemed with Your honoring,
wa bilmahalli alshsharifi ahlaltaha
and You have raised to the Honorable Place.
allahumma fa’inna nasaluka bilmab`athi alshsharifi
O Allah: We thus beseech You in the name of the honorable mission,
wal-ssayyidi allatifi
the gentle master,
wal-`unsuri al`afifi
and the chaste line
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa alihi
that You may bless Muhammad and his Household
wa an taj`ala a`malana fi hadhihi allaylati
and that You decide our deeds at this night,
wa fi sa’iri alliali maqbulatan
as well as all the other nights, as acceptable,
wa dhunubana maghfuratan
our sins as forgiven,
wa hasanatina mashkuratan
our good efforts as praiseworthy,
wa sayyi’atina masturatan
our evildoings as concealed,
wa qulubana bihusni alqawli masruratan
our hearts as pleased with decent wording,
wa arzaqana min ladunka biliyusri madruratan
and our sustenance that You decide for us as copiously flowing with easiness.
allahumma innaka tara wa la tura
O Allah: Verily You see [everything] but nothing can see You
wa anta bilmanzari ala`la
while You are in the Highest Prospect.
wa inn ilayka alrruj`a wal-muntaha
And, verily, to You are the [final] return and goal.
wa inna laka almamata wal-mahya
And, verily, to You are causing to death and granting of life.
wa inna laka alakhirata wal-‘ula
And to You are the Last and the First [of all things].
allahumma inna na`udhu bika an nadhilla wa nakhza
O Allah: we, surely, seek Your protection against meeting of disgrace and shame
wa an natiya ma `anhu tanha
and against committing that which You have ordered us not to do.
allahumma inna nasaluka aljannata birahmatika
O Allah: we, surely, pray You for Paradise, out of Your mercy,
wa nasta`idhu bika mina alnnari
and we seek Your protection against Hellfire.
fa-a`idhna minha biqudratika
So, (please do) save us from it, in the name of Your omnipotence.
wa nasaluka mina alhuri al`ini
We, also, pray You for the women of Paradise;
farzuqna bi`izztika
so, please do grant us them, in the name of Your might.
waj`al awsa`a arzaqina `inda kibari sinnina
And (please do) make the most expansive of our sustenance be given to us when we become old aged,
wa ahsana a`malina `inda aqtirabi ajalina
and make the best of our deeds be at the time close to our death.
wa atil fi ta`atika
And (please do) extend [our ages and make us spend them] in acts of obedience to You,
wa ma yuqarribu ilayka
and in all that which draws us near to You,
wa yuhzy `indaka
and in all that which allow us to enjoy a good position with You,
wa yuzlifu ladayka a`marana
and in all that which make our lives acceptable by You.
wa ahsin fi jami`i ahwal-ina wa a’umurinama`rifatana
And (please do) improve our recognition of You under all circumstance and conditions.
And do not refer us to any of Your beings lest they shall always remind us of their favors to us.
wa tafazl `alayna bijami`i hawa’ijina lilddniawal-akhirati
And please favor us by settling all our needs, in this world as well as the Next World.
wabda bi-aba’ina wa abna’ina
And (please do) do the same thing to our forefathers, our descendants,
wa jami`i ikhwanina almu´minina
and all our brethren-in-faith;
fi jami`i ma sa-alnaka
with regard to all that which we have besought You for ourselves
li-anfusina ya arhama alrrahimina
O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
allahumma inna nasaluka bismika al`azimi
O Allah: we, verily, beseech You by Your Grand Name
wa mulkika alqadimi
and Your Eternal Kingdom
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
to send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
wa an taghfira lana aldhdhanba al`azima
and to forgive our grave sins,
for none can forgive the grave save the All-great.
allahumma wa hadha rajabun almukarramu
O Allah: this is Rajab, the honored month,
alladhy akramtana bihi awulu ash-huri alhurumi
which You have honored us through it, being the first of the Sacred Months,
akramtana bihi min bayni ala’umami
and You have selected us for this honor from amongst the other nations.
falaka alhamdu ya dhaljudi wal-karami
So, all praise be to You; O the Lord of Magnanimity and Generosity.
fasaluka bihi wa bismika
I thus beseech You by Your Name,
ala`zami ala`zami ala`zami
the grandest, the grandest, the grandest,
al-ajalli alakrami
the most majestic, the most honorable,
alladhy khalaqtahu fastaqarr fi zillika
that You have created so that it has settled under Your Shadow
fala yakhruju minka ila ghayrika
and it thus shall never transfer to anyone other than You—
an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ahli baytihi alttahirina
I beseech You to send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household, the immaculate,
wa an taj`alana mina al`amilina fihi bita`atika
and to include us, during this month, with those who practice acts of obedience to You
wal-amilina fihi lishafa`atika
and those who hope for Your admission.
allahumma ahdina ila sawa‘i alssabili
O Allah: (please do) lead us to the Right Path,
waj`al maqilana `indaka khayra maqilin
and choose for us the best resting-place with You,
fi zillin zalilin
under a dense shade
wa mulkin jazilin
and abundant possession.
fa’innaka hasbuna wa ni`ma alwakilu
Surely, You are Sufficient for us! Most Excellent are You, and in You do we trust!
allahumma aqlibna muflihina munjihina
O Allah: (please do) make us return (to You) with success and victory;
ghayra magh¤ubin `alayna wa la ¤allina
neither accursed (by You) nor misleading (the Right Path),
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
out of Your mercy; O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
allahumma inni as-aluka bi`aza’imi maghfiratika
O Allah: I earnestly beseech You, in the name of the matters that bring about Your forgiveness
wa biwajibi rahmatika
and the matters that incumbently achieve Your mercy,
alssalamata min kulli ithmin
to grant me safety from all sins,
wal-ghanimata min kulli birrin
gain of all decencies,
wal-fawza biljannati
attainment of Paradise,
wal-nnajata mina alnnari
redemption against Hellfire.
O Allah: In the same way as suppliants have besought You, I am beseeching You.
wa salaka alssa’iluna wa sa-altuka
And in the same way as implorers have begged You, I am begging You.
wa talaba ilayka alttalibuna wa talabtu ilayka
And in the same way as requesters have asked You, I am asking You.
allahumma anta alththiqatu wal-rraja‘u
O Allah: You are (my) trust and hope;
wa ilayka muntaha alrrghbati fi alddu`a‘i
and You are the ultimate desire in my supplications.
allahumma fasalli `ala muhammadin wa alihi
O Allah: send blessings upon Muhammad and his Household
waj`ali aliyaqina fi qalbi
and establish conviction in my hear,
wal-nnura fi basary
light in my sight,
wal-nnsihata fi sadri
well-wishing in my chest,
wa dhikraka billili wal-nnhari `ala lisani
and the mention of You on my tongue day and night,
wa rizqan wasi`an ghayra mamnunin wa lamahzurin farzuqni
and expansive sustenance that is neither failing nor banned. So, please provide me sustenance
wa barik li fima razaqtani
and bless that which You decide for me,
waj`al ghinaiya fi nafsi
and make me self-sufficient,
wa raghbaty fima `indaka
and make me desire for none save You;
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
out of Your mercy, O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
You may then prostrate yourself and repeat the following invocation one hundred times:
الْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِمَعْرِفَتِهِ،
alhamdu lillahi alladhy hadana lima`rifatihi
All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to the recognition of Him,
wa khassna biuilaiyatihi
has included us exclusively with the protection of Him,
wa waffaqana lita`atihi
and has granted us the obedience to Him.
shukran shukran
Thanks, thanks.
When you raise your head (i.e. finish the prostration), you may recite the following:
اللّهُمَّ إنِّي قَصَدْتُكَ بِحَاجَتِي،
allahumma inni qasadtuka bihajati
O Allah: I am turning my face toward You asking for the settlement of my needs.
wa`tamadtu `alayka bimas-alati
And I depend upon You in submitting my problem.
wa tawajjhtu ilayka bi-a’immaty wa sadati
And I submit before You my Imams and Masters.
allahumma anfa`na bihubbihim
O Allah: benefit us by our love for them,
wa awridna mawridahum
and make us follow their examples,
warzuqna murafaqatahum
and grant us their companionship,
wa adkhilna aljannata fi zumratihim
and allow us to enter Paradise with their group;
birahmatika ya arhama alrrahimina
by Your mercy, O the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
Sayyid Ibn Tawoos has mentioned that this supplication is recited on the Revelation Day (i.e. the twenty-seventh of Rajab).
The Supplication on the Divine Mission Day Mp3
Eighth: As is mentioned in ‘Iqbal al-A`mal’ and some manuscripts of‘Misbah al-Mutahajjid’, it is recommended to recite the following supplication on this day:
يَا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِالْعَفْوِ وَالتَّجَاوُزِ،
ya man amara bil`afui wal-ttjauuzi
O He Who has ordered us to forgive and overlook
wa ¤ammana nafsahu al`afwa wal-ttjauuza
and has taken upon Himself to forgive and overlook!
ya man `afa wa tajawaza
O He Who did forgive and overlook:
اعْفُ عَنِّي وَتَجَاوَزْ يَا كَرِيمُ.
i`fu `anni wa tajawaz ya karimu
(please do) forgive me and overlook (my evildoings) O the All-generous.
allahumma wa qad akda alttalabu
O Allah: surely, all requests have been rejected,
wa a`iyati alhilatu wal-madhhabu
and all means and ways have been inaccessible,
wa darasati alamalu
and all hopes have been eradicated,
wanqata`a alrraja‘u illa minka
and all expectations have been cut off from everybody save You
wahdaka la sharika laka
alone, there is no partner with You.
allahumma inni ajidu subula almatalibi ilayka mushra`atan
O Allah: I find the ways to requesting from You wide open,
wa manahila alrraja‘i ladayka mutra`atan
and springs of hoping for You quenching,
wa abwaba aldd`a‘i liman da`aka mufatthatan
and doors of supplication unlocked for him who implores You,
wal-asti`anata limani asta`ana bika mubahatan
and Your aid available for those who seek it.
wa a`lamu annka lida`ika bimaw¤i`i ijabatin
I also know that You are in the position of response for him who beseeches You,
wa lilssarikhi ilayka bimarsadi ighathatin
and in the position of relief for him who resorts to You,
wa ann fi allahfi ila judika wal-zamani bi`idatika
and that hastening to Your magnanimity and the reliance upon Your promise
`iwa¤an min man`i albakhilina
compensate from the stinginess of the misery ones
wa manduhatan `amma fi aydy almustathirina
and suffice from that which is grasped by the mean ones.
wa annka la tahtajibu `an khalqika
And [I know for sure] that You never screen Yourself against Your beings
illa an tahjubahumu ala`malu dunaka
but it is their evildoings that prevent them from journeying toward You.
wa qad `alimtu ann af¤ala zadi alrrahili ilayka `azmu iradatin
I have also known for sure that the best provisions of his who intends to travel to You is a true willpower by which He chooses You among others.

Hence, my heart has called at You with full willpower;
wa as-aluka bikull da`watin da`aka biha rajin ballghtahu amalahu
and I pray You in the name of all supplications said by a hopeful and thus You have achieved his hope,
aw sarikhun ilayka aghathta sarkhatahu
or said by a seeker of aid and thus You have admitted his request,

or said by an aggrieved, depressed one and thus You have relieved him,
aw mudhnibun khatiiun ghafarta lahu
or said by a guilty sinner and thus You have forgiven him,
aw mu`afan atmamta ni`mataka `alayhi
or said by a healthy one and thus You have perfected Your favors on him,
aw faqirun ahdayta ghinaka ilayhi
or said by a poor one and thus You have conferred upon him with Your wealth,
wa litilka aldd`wati `alayka haqq wa `indaka manzilatun
and that these supplications occupy a considerable position with You and enjoy a standing with You—
illa sallayta `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin
I pray You to send blessings upon Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

which You have honored us through it, being the first of the Sacred Months,

and You have selected us for this honor among the other nations.

O the Lord of Magnanimity and Generosity.

I thus beseech You by Your Name, the grandest, the grandest, the grandest,

after You accept our little deed

May Allah bless and exalt Muhammad and his Household.

this supplication, which is one of the excellent supplications of Rajab, was recited by Imam Musa ibn Ja`far al-Kazim (a.s) on the day when the ruling authorities took him to Baghdad. That day was the twenty-seventh of Rajab
Ninth As is mentioned in ‘Iqbal al-A`mal’, it is recommended to recite the following supplication on this day:
O Allah: I beseech You in the name of the Grandest Manifestation…
allahumma inni asaluka bilnnjli ala`zami…
Salat given above another format / font :-Shaykh al-tusiy has also reported Abu’l-Qasim Husayn ibn Ruh may Allah have mercy upon him— as saying, “On this day, you may offer a prayer consisting of twelve Rak`ahs at each of which you may recite Surah of al-Fatiiah and any other Surahs. After each couple of Rak`ahs, you may say the following:-
alhamdu lillahi alladhy lam yattakhidh waladan

Dua Mi'-raaj (Maarij)
| Video |
Allama Kafmi has written this dua'a in his book Misbah, on the authority of Imam Ali ibna abi Talib who learned it from the Holy Prophet. The Holy Prophet said:"Allah will have mercy on him who keeps this dua'a as a tawid, and recites it a great deal. He will forgive his sins and the sins of parents and his children, bestow on him countless blessings, keep him safe from misfortunes, multiply his earnings, and cure his ailments."To improve and develop memory write the (Arabic) text of this dua'a on a clean piece of paper with saffron, wash it with pure water and drink it.Hang the written (Arabic) text of this dua'a (like a tawid) around the neck of children to keep them safe from wild and poisonous animals, and the evil of witchcraft and jinn.It is reported that at the time of mi-raj the Holy Prophet saw this dua'a written at the last post, qaaba qawsayn aw adnaa. Allah swt. informed him that whosoever recites this heavenly dua'a or keeps it written version on his person, will get countless blessings.

BISMILLAHIR RAHMANIR RAHIM
ALLAHUMMA S'ALE A'LAA MUHAMMAD WA AALE MUHAMMAD
O Allah I beseech You.
O He with whom remain firmly attached all the worshippers, O He before whom all the praiseworthy bow down and pay tribute, O He unto whom all the tired and the oppressed cry for help, O He who is besought for fulfillment of needs by all those who are deprived, O He who does not send away any supplicant disappionted, O He whose door is never shut up for the beseechers, O He who is indescribeable and indefinable, O He in whose bestowals there is no let-up, and they are not little nor scanty, O He who is not out of the reach of prayers; and is the best destination, O He whose servants tie their hopes with (His) rope, O He like unto whom, there is no one, and no one is comparable to Him, O He who was not begotten, nor begets, O He whose bounties and favours are innumerable, O He whose overflowing reservoir of good is kept open for mankind, O He to whom standing up (wakefulness) and sitting down (rest) cannot be attributed, O He who urges his gifts and presents to reach the created beings, O He who is not circumstanced by movement or stillness (inaction), O Allah, O beneficent, O merciful, O loving friend, O He who took pity on the aging Yaqub, O He who overlooked the mistake of Dawud, O He who does not break His word and forgives those whom forgiveness has been assured, O He who gives livelihood and covers the misdeeds of the creatures to their full satisfaction, O He who gives asylum to all the persecuted victims of revenge, O He to come nearer to whom all creatures lay with the face downward on the ground in abject submission, O He from whose beneficence not a single (living) soul is kept away, O He who does not rule unjustly, nor shows mercy to the headstrong tryants, have mercy on the petty transgressors who did not carry out their obligations. Verily You do whatever You will, O Truthful. O Loving, send blessings on Muhammad, the best Mesenger, who called attention (of all) to the best worshippable, and on his descendants, pious, pure, generous and liberal, and do well for me as it is worthy of You, O the most merciful, O the most generous |

Imam Sadiq (AS) said: "God grants seven hours to repent to any believer

Shaikh Sadooq narrates from Imam Ali-ar-Reza (AS) that if a person does
not have the means to lessen the stock of his bad deeds, he should send
Salawaat and Salaam on Mohammad (SAWW) and His Progeny (AS)
bundantly, doing so will decrease (the weight of ) his sins.

B A C K B I T I N G- EXPOSING THE DEFECTS OF A BROTHER-in-FAITH WHICH ALLAH (S.T.) HAS COVERED | for everyone |
Allah (s.w.t.) ha created no one (except for the Prophets and the Imams) free of sin, and people generally live behind the veil that Allah (s.w.t.) has, through His far reaching wisdom, drawn over their acts. If this divine veil were lifted to expose all our faults and errors, everyone would flee each other in loathing and society would crumble to its foundations.
This is why Allah has forbidden Backbiting, so that we should be protected from talk behind our backs, and so that our outward lives should appear beautiful, and this outward beauty should penetrate our inward ugliness.
One of the curses which deals a serious blow to social relations and has been strongly opposed in Islam is BACKBITING.
Backbitting actually means saying something against someone behind his back that he would not like it. It is one of the major sins. It is a sign of weakness and cowardice. The one who backbites is weak because he cannot see the progress and prestige of others, hence he tries to defame him.
Immam Musa Kazim (a.s.) said : The mention of anything evil about anyone among the people who did not know it is backbiting.
Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said:" exposing the defects of a brother-in-faith which Allah has covered is backbiting
Allah says: "O you believe ! avoid most of suspicion, for surely suspicion in some cases, is a sin, and do not spy or let some of you backbite others. Does one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother ?". (49:12)
Once some companions sent Salman-e-Farsi (r.a.) to get some food. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s) sent Salman to Usama bin Zaid who looked after the kitchen of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and Usama begged to be pardoned for there was nothing in Kitchen. When Salman returned without any thing the companions said that Usama was a wise and Salman was also the same.
When after that those companions appearing before him, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: " What is the matter, I see some particles of flesh in your teeth ?" They said they had not any animal food. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: It is the flesh of Salman and Usama" This verse (49:12) was revealed.
In Surah al-Noor Alalh says : " Surely (as for) those who love that scandal should circulate respecting those who believe, they shall have a grievous chastisement in this world and the hereafter." (24:19) .
This is a seperate important instruction by itself that no attempt should be made to spread even the news of evil or crime which would result in minimising the gravity of crime in the eyes of the people. He who gives publicity to the evils of others, is equal to himself having committed those evils.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: "Abstain from backbiting for it is worse than adultery (zina) for after committing adultery, if one seeks Allah's pardon, He grants it, but the forgiveness for backbiting is not granteduntil the one who is backbitted forgives him.
In surah al-Qalam, Allah says" And yield no to any mean swearer, defamers, going about with slander " (68:10-11)
This verse, in general, teaches us not pay attention to a type of mean and lowly people who always engage in defaming and exposing faults of othrs, even to the extent of slandering- fabricating defects against others.
Slander is ranked as more reprehensible than backbiting
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: " O you people who have expressed belief with your tongues but whose hearts are unwareof it ! Do not open your mouths to slander the Muslims and do not seek to discover their faults because when a person peeps at the faults of his brother-faith, Allah tears his veil, divulges his faults and disgrace him."
Difference between backbitting and Slander (Bohtan)
Worse than backbiting is slander, which means false accusation and fabricated faults against others. Backbiting is exposing the true defects of others behind their back.
Some persons pry into the private affairs and secret matters of others. This a sort of inferiority complex and the person concerned resorts to divulging the defects of others so that he may creat peace within himself.
The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said: " Any get-together which flourishes and becomes lively with backbiting and saying bad things will be desolate from the view-point of religion. O Muslims ! Keep your ears away from hearing because one who says bad things about others and one who hears it are partners in sin "
" Whoever moves from his place for the purpose of backbitting of his brother-in-faith for exposing his defects then beware that he has put his first step in the Hell.
Imam Ali (a.s.) "Whoever is inquisitive about the defects of the people should commence this taks with himself"
"Refrain from associating with the fault-finders, because their freinds too, cannot remain safe from their harm.
Allah said: " Woe unto every slanderer defamer !
Repentance and expiation for backbiting
Since backbiting is a major sin so if one is indulged into it he should instantly be repentant because he had opposed a Divine order and then he should seek for the forgiveness of Allah and should resolve not to repeat this sin, and if possible he should praise the backbitten in the same manner in which he had backbitted and should also beg for his pardon.
Immam Ja'far as-Sadiq said: "Backbiting of a Muslim is equal to infidelity and its listening and being pleased with it is polytheism
There are certain occasions when the Jurists (Fuqha) consider backbitting permissible:
1. Backbiting is permissible of a person who is seen committing sins openly such as drinking wine at a open place provided he is not regretful or ashamed in doing so.
2. If an oppressed complains of the tyranny inflicted by an oppressor then it will not be considered as backbitting.
As in Quran Allah says: "Allah does not love the public utterance of hurtful speach, unless (it be) by one to who injustice has been done"
3. Counselling the seeker of an advice. When a person is willing to know some information about a particular person from a consultant who knows such a defect about him which, if not disclosed, may put the seeker of advice in trouble then there is no harm in disclosing the defects of the particular person. But if any matter disclosed then it is not permissible to disclose anything.
4. When a shameful or vile act is seen in someone and if it is certain that by exposing these acts he will discard them there there is no harm in backbitting. But if that person is disgraced or insulted in disclosing his evils then it is not permissible. In this regard one should be cautious in observing the conditons of 'Nahi-anil-Munkar".
5. Backbiting of such a person is permissible who is himself misguided and is indulged in misguiding other Muslims and creating schism and innovation in religion.
6. Repudiating the saying of such a person who connects himself with a family or lineage, to which he is not belonging, will not be considered as backbiting.
7. If two persons notice a sin of a person and they chat about it in his absence then it will not be backbiting as there is nothing hidden from the teller and the listener. If it is feared this matter may become famous in this way then it is not permissible to talk about it.
Finally the Hadees to sum up:
"Hazrat Ali (a.s.) said: "Keep silent and cover up (short-comings of others) so that you remain secured and safe"
"One who covers up (short-comings ) of a Muslim Allah (s.w.t.) would reward him by covering him up in this world and the Hereafter".
"Whoever is inquisitive about the defects of the people, should commence this and do first with his own self"
Let us pray that Allah gives us courage to disown the evil design of Shaitan in backbitting others and May Allah forgive us for our past actions and help us seek the forgivness of the person who is backbitted and May Allah us keep always on the right path and observe all his commands to invite His Divine Blessings and Grace - Ameen

“VERILY! PRAYERS (SALAAT) RESTRAINS FROM OBSCENITY AND EVIL (HOLY QURAN)
" EXCEPT FOR THE PEOPLE OF RIGHT, THEY WILL BE IN HEAVENS AND WILL ASK THE SINNER, " WHAT HAS BROUGHT YOU TO HELL" THEY SHALL REPLY :
" WE WERE NOT AMONG THOSE WHO PRAYED NAMAZ (SURAH MADASSIR AYAT 40)
The significance of Namaz (prayers) can be understood from the above Quranic verse which clearly depicts the philosophy of Namaz. Namaz restrains a person from committing evil deeds because if a person remembers his Lord five times in a day, then he cannot think of committing sins, let alone comitting it. This is because he testifies five times in his prayers that he who witnesses are his action, than how can he commit sins.
Namaz brings the person in direct contact with his Lord. It is narrated by the Immam (a.s.) that :
"When a person stands for praying Namaz, mercy of Allah descends upon him from heavens and earth and angels surround him. One angel says : " If this person know what is the importance of Namaz he would never leave it "Really ! who wants to leave such a significant action except an unlucky person. It is reported that when a servant of Allah prolongs his prostration (sijdah) Shaitan ( the cursed one) gets disgraced and cries, " Oh ! woe be on me ! he obeyed Allah and I disobeyed. He prostrates and I rejected ".
Immam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) said " Obligatory prayers are better than Hajj to a house of Allah. And a Hajj is better than charity of a house filled with gold in way of Allah.
"Similiarity of Namaz is a pillar of tent. Till the time the pillar is strong all the things in the tent remain stable. But if the pillar come down then all other things will crumble.
Some people, though they don't leave their prayers, but consider it a insiignificant matter are great loosers. First loss to them is that they will be deprived of shafaa-at (intercession) As the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said : " One who is careless in praying Namaz is not from me.
The tradition does not say for those who don't pray but for the ones who consider it unimportant and shows lethargy in its performance.
As for those who pray very fast that one cannot differentiate it from an exercise, the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has strongly condemned them.
Once Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a,) was sitting in the mosque for praying Namaz, but while he was praying he did not perform his ruku and sajdah (prostration) properly and finished it in a haste, Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s) remarked, " He is jumping like a crow. If he dies in this state he will not die on my religion."
As per Immam (s.a.) said: " When a person stands for Namaz and considers it unimportant Allay says to the Angels:
" Do you not see this slave of mine, he presumes as if fulfillments of his deeds is with someone other than Me ? Does he know not that is in My hands ?."
Still other group of people who don't pray Namaz ! About such people Quran is very clear that their place is in Hell. Quran says: "Except for the people of right, they will be in heavens and will ask the sinner, " What has brought you to Hell", they shall reply " We were not among those who prayed Namaz ".
"The thing which converts a Muslim into a non-believer is to leave Namaz deliberately or consider it insignificant"
In another place Quran while describing unbeliver and their characteristics say : " He neither believes (in Prophets) nor he prays Namaz but rejects (the truth) and turns back ) Surah Qiyamat 31- 32 "Immam (a.s.) says : The one who after believing turns unbeliever than all his actions are washed away .
The Holy Quran says : " Surely the believers are successful, the one who are humble in their prayers and those keep a guard on their prayers. " (Surah Mo'menin')
Immam Ja'far as- Sadiq (a.s.) said : " For the one who prays Namaz there are 3 distinctions:
1. When he stands for prayers blessings pour down upon him from heaven
2. Angels gather around his feet from heaven
3. An Angel announces : " O one who prayes Namaz if you would have know that (this) thing which will serve as deliverance (to Paradise ) you would never turn away from it."
It is said by the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s )
1. One who helps evader of Namaz by even a morsel of food it is as if he has killed seventy prophets - first among them being Adam (a.s.) and last Mohammamed (s.a.w.s.)
2. One who helps evader of Namaz by giving him even water to drink it is as if he is at war with me and with all the Prophets
3. Namaz is the pillar of religion if it is accepted then everything will be accepted - if it is rejected every other thing will be rejected.
4. Till the time a person prays five times a day, Shaitan fears him and keeps away from him but when he does not pray, Shaitan over- powers him and indulges him in major sins".
Immam Ali (a.s.) said as to when the Angels pray Namaz behind you
"One who performs prayers with Azaan and Iqamat there will pray behind him one row of Angels which he sees not and one who prays with Iqamat only one angle prays namaz behind him "
When it was asked to Imam (a.s.) as to how many angles are there in one row. Imam (a.s.) said:
"Minimum is what can be accommodated between East and the West of earth while maximum is what can be accommodated between earth and the sky"
At the time of call for Morning prayers - Allah (s.t.) sends Angels to your doorsteps with all His Grace, Blessings, Rozi, and the Goodness. The Angles knock at every Momin's door to enter with all the Barkat but the person who does not get for his morning prayers he looses his chance to get the benevolence from Allah and indirectly rejects them. Who would not want all the Barkat should not come in to his house- no one wants to miss it but being lazy to get up for morning prayers the chance is lost. It is the same way - you want your guest to come to your house - you say also come in - come in - but you do not open the latch of the door from inside for him to come in - this is what happens to the Angels - they want to enter your house as you would very much want to do but not opening the latch of your door (not getting up for prayers because of laziness) one deprives the chance - How can one blame Allah for the loss of barakat in his Rozi. The person himself is to be blamed for his loss.
Always pray Sure-Yasin - make it a habit to pray after your morning prayers and see the difference
Pray Sure- Waqia between Isha and Magrib prayers for increase in sustenance

Imam Musa al-Kazim is the Seventh Apostolic Imam. His epithet was Abu 'I-Hasan and his famous title was al-Kazim. His matchless devotion and worship of God has also earned him the title of "'Abdu's.-Salih" (virtuous slave of God). Generosity was synonymous with his name and no beggar ever returned from his door empty handed. Even after his death, he continued to be obliging and was generous to his devotees who came to his holy tomb with prayers and behests which were invariably granted by God. Thus, one of his additional titles is also "Babu 'l-Hawaij" (the door to fulfilling needs).
PARENTS
The Holy Imam Musa al-Kazim was the son of Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq, the Sixth Imam. The name of his mother was Hamidah, the daughter of a noble man hailing from the states of Barbary.
CHILDHOOD
Imam Musa al-Kazim passed twenty years of his sacred life under the gracious patronage of his holy father. His inherent genius and gifted virtues combined with the enlightened guidance and education from the Holy Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq, showed in the manifestation of his future personality. He was fully versed with the Divine Knowledge even in his childhood. al-'Allamah al-Majlisi relates that once Abu Hanifah happened to call upon the holy abode of Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq to ask him about some religious matters masail). The Imam was asleep and so he kept waiting outside till the Imam's awakening. Meanwhile, Imam Musa al-Kazim, who was then five years old, came out of his house. Abu Hanifah, after offering him his best compliments, enquired: "O the son of the Holy Prophet ! what is your opinion about the deeds of a man? Does he do them by himself or does God make him do them?" "O Abu Hanifah", the five years old Imam replied at once, in the typical tone of his ancestors, "the doings of a man are confined to three possibilities. First, that God alone does them while the man is quite helpless. Second, that both God and the man do equally share the commitment. Third, that man does them alone. Now, if the first assumption is true, it obviously proves the unjustness of God who punishes His creatures for sins which they have not committed. And if the second condition be acceptable, even then God becomes unjust if He punishes the man for the crimes in which He is equally a partner. But the undesirability of both these conditions is evident in the case of God. Thus, we are naturally left with the third alternative to the problem that men are absolutely responsible for their own doings."
IMMATE
The Holy Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq breathed his last on 25th ShawwaL 148 AH, and with effect from the same date Imam Musa al-Kazim succeeded the holy office of Imamate as the Seventh Imam. The period of his Imamate continued for thirty-five years. In the first decade of his Imamate, Imam Musa al-Kazim could afford a peaceful execution of the responsibilities of his sacred office and carried on the propagation of the teachings of the Holy Prophet. But soon after, he fell a victim to the ruling kings and a greater part of his life passed in prison.
Political Condition: Imam Musa al-Kazim lived under the most crucial times in the regimes of the despotic 'Abbasid kings who were marked for their tyrannical and cruel administration. He witnessed the reigns of al-Mansur ad-Dawaniqi, al-Mahdi and Harun ar-Rashid. al-Mansur and Harun ar-Rashid were the despotic kings who put a multitude of innocent descendants of the Holy Prophet to the sword. Thousands of these martyrs were buried alive inside walls or put into horrible dark prisons during their lifetime. These depraved caliphs knew no pity or justice and they killed and tortured for the pleasure they derived from human sufferings. The Holy Imam was saved from the tyranny of al-Mansur because the king, being occupied with his project of constructing the new city of Baghdad, could not get time to turn towards victimizing the Imam. By 157 AH the city of Baghdad was built. This was soon followed by the death of its founder a year later. After al-Mansur, his son al-Mahdi ascended the throne. For a few years he remained indifferent towards the Imam. When in 164 AH he came to Medina and heard about the great reputation of the Imam, he could not resist his jealousy and the spark of his ancestral malice against the Ahlu 'l-Bayt was rekindled. He somehow managed to take the Imam along with him to Baghdad and got him imprisoned there. But after a year he realized his mistake and released the Imam from jail. al-Mahdi was succeeded by al-Hadi who lived only for a year. Now, in 170 AH, the most cruel and tyrannical king Harun ar-Rashid appeared at the head of the 'Abbasid Empire. It was during his reign that the Holy Imam passed the greater part of his life in a miserable prison till he was poisoned
Moral and Ethical Excellence
As regards his morality and ethical excellence, Ibn Hajar al-Haytami remarks: "The patience and forbearance of Imam Musa al-Kazim was such that he was given the title of 'al-Kazim' (one who swallows down his anger). He was the embodiment of virtue and generosity. He devoted his nights to the prayers of God and his days to fasting. He always forgave those who did wrong to him." His kind and generous attitude towards the people was such that he used to patronize and help the poor and destitutes of Medina and provide for them cash, food, clothes and other necessitities of sustenance secretly. It continued to be a riddle for the receivers of gifts throughout the Imam's lifetime as to who their benefactor was, but the secret was not revealed until after his death.
Literary Attainments
Time and circumstances did not permit the Holy Imam Musa al-Kazim to establish institutions to impart religious knowledge to his followers as his father, Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq and his grandfather, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir had done. He was never allowed to address a congregation. He carried on his mission of preaching and guiding people quietly.
DEATH
In 179 AH, Harun ar-Rashid visited Medina. The fire of malice and jealousy against the Ahlul-Bayt was kindled in his heart when he saw the great influence and popularity which the Holy Imam enjoyed amongst the people there. He got the Imam arrested while he was busy in prayer at the tomb of the Holy Prophet and kept him in prison in Baghdad for a period of about four years. On the 25th Rajab 183 AH, he got the Imam martyred by poison. Even his corpse was not spared humiliation and was taken out of the prison and left on the Bridge of Baghdad. His devotees, however, managed to lay the holy body of the Imam to rest in al-Kazimiyyah (Iraq).
al-Imam al-Kazim, peace be Upon him, said:
No charity is superior to giving a helping hand to the weak. Never bother to learn something not knowing which does not do you any harm, and never neglect to learn something whose negligence will increase your ignorance.
FUNNY HOW.......... | for everyone |
Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world is going to hell.
Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what Quran says.
Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven - provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Quran says.
Funny how someone can say " I believe in God " but still follow Satan.
Funny how you can send a thousand of 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Learning to fly
"So blessed be Allah, the Best of the Creators:(Holy Quran 23:14)
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon.
The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the buttterly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which could contract in time.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening, were Allah's way of forcing liquid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
THE MORAL:
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If Allah allowed us to go through our lives without any obstacles, it would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.
WE COULD NEVER ' F L Y’
DAY OF RESURRECTION -Q I Y A M A T | for everyone |
Q I Y A M A T
(DAY OF RESURRECTION)
“It will be momentous in the heavens and the earth, it will not come to you but of a sudden”
Allamah Qutubuddin Rawandi relates from Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) that once Prophet Isa (a.s.) asked Hazrat Jibra'eel (a.s.) as to when would Qiyamat come ?. As soon as Jibra'eel (A.S.) heard about Qiyamat he started trembling and fell down unconscious. When he regained consciousness he said, “O Ruhullah! Verily you know more about it then me “and he recited the above verse (ayat)
As quoted by Imam Ja'far as- Sadiq (A.S.) as saying that once Hazrat Jibra'eel was seated in the presence of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.), suddenly he looked towards the sky and turned pale because of terror. He asked the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) to grant him refuge. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) looked towards the sky where Jibra'eel (A.S.) had seen. He saw an Angel whose wings spread from the east to the west as if covering it. He looked towards the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and said “O Muhammed (s.a.w.s.) I have come down with an order from Allah. choose from among these two anyone, either kingdom and Prophet hood, or Allah's slavery and Prophet Hood.
“The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) turned towards Jibra'eel (A.S.) and saw that he had regained strength by then and asked for his advice. Jibra'eel (A.S.) told the Prophet to choose Allah's slavery and Prophet Hood. The Prophet (s.a.w.s.) told the Angel that he opted for Allah's slavery and Prophet hood. After giving the reply, the Angel placed his right leg on the first haven, then lifted the second one and placed it on the second heaven. Likewise he started climbing the heavens until he reached the seventh heaven. He became smaller, the size equal to a bird. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) turned towards Jibra’eel (A.S.) and said: “I have never seen you so much frightened before, what is the reason for it”?
Jibra'eel (A.S.) answered, “O Prophet do you know who this Angel was? He was Israfeel (a.s.). From the day Allah created the heavens and the earth, Israfeel (A.S.) never came down to the earth. When I saw him coming down I assumed that he must have come down to announce the arrival of QIYAMAT. Hence the colour of my face turned pale due to fright of Qiyamat as you saw. But when I saw that he had come down to give you glad tidings, I was relieved and regained my consciousness.
It is related that there is no Angel in the Heavens or earth, skies or mountains, seas or deserts who do not fear Fridays. Because they think that Qiyamat may come on that very day.
It is also narrated that whenever the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) would talk about Qiyamat, there would be sternness in his voice, and his cheeks would turn red.
THE TRUMPET OF ISRAFEEL (SOORE ISRAFEEL)
When Almighty Allah will intend to bring forth Qiyamat, He will order Israfeel (a.s.) to blow the trumpet (soor). The trumpet is large and illuminated, and has one mouth piece and two tubes, one pointing towards the earth and other towards the sky. Israfeel will go the Baitul Muqaddas (in Jerusalem) and which facing the Qibla will blow the trumpet. When the voice will come out from that side which is towards the earth all living beings on it shall die, and when the voice will come out from the side which is towards the sky all living being in it shall also die. The Allah will say to Israfeel (a.s.) "Die" and he too shall die. Allah has described the end of the world in many verses of the Holy Quran.
“On the day when the earth shall be changed into a different earth, and the Heavens, (as well) and they shall come forth before Allah, the One, the Supreme." (surah al Ibraheem: 48)
When the Heavens are cleft asunder, and when the stars become dispersed, and when the seas are made to flow forth, and when the graves are laid open, every should shall know what is has sent before and held back "(surah an Infitar 1-5)
"When the sun is covered, and when the stars darken, and when the mountains are made to pass away” (s.takwir1-3)
"So when the sight becomes dazed, and the moon becomes dark, and the sun and the moon are brought together
(Surah al Qiyamah: 7-8)
“It will not come on you but of a sudden" (surah al A'raf: 187)
"So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families " (surah al Yaseen :50 )
Then the angry voice of Allah (s.t.) will be heard :
"Where are those men who walked arrangantly over the earth, where are the kings and emperors who prided upon their empires, where are the people who claimed to be gods, where are you so-called kingdoms."
"Whose Kingdom is it today : ?
No one will have the courage to answer. The He Himself will say :
“Verily Allah's, the Dominant (Qahhar), the Compelling (Jabbar) " (Ehsanul Fawaed)
HADEES RESURRECTION (QIYAMAT)
The entire universe will remain destroyed till Allah wishes. Someone asked Ma'soom (a.s.) regarding this time gap. Ma'soom (a.s.) replied that :
“It will remain like that for forty years " In another tradition it is stated " It will remain like this for four hundred years "
Thereafter it will rain consequently for forty days and all physical matter will gather together and collect. Israfeel will be the first one to come to life again. Allah will then command him to blow the trumpet again, he shall do so and all the dead will arise. A voice will then come :
" O souls driven forth from the bodies ! and the scattered flesh ! and the rotten bones ! and the dispersed hair, come and join together, come forth to account ( for your deeds ) "
The earth will be commanded by Allah to spit out all that lies buried in it.
"And the earth brings forth her burdens. " (surah az-Zilzal)
All the matter buried in the earth will come out and join. And the people will arise and stand together, But each one will have a distinct state and different voices. The virtuous will be uttering Allah's praises "Praise be to Allah who has fulfilled what He promised. "
While the sinners will be lamenting while coming out of their graves
"O woe to us ! who has raised us up from our sleeping place (surah al Yaseen: 52)
It is related in a tradition that one foot will be on the earth while the other in the grave, and they will be standing in wonder so much so that thirty thousand years will pass away. This will be first part of the punishments of Qiyamat. The believers will say : O Lord ! Hasten us to our eternal abode, so that we may delight in the blessings of Paradise. While the unbelievers will say : O Lord ! Let us remain here, for your wrath is less here (as compared to the hereafter) (Ma'ad)
"A'maal which ease the trouble of qiyamat
Ten such A'mals which will ease the troubles and difficulties of Qiyamat:
1) It is related that a person who recited Surah-al-Yusuf daily during the day or night, will arise on the day of Qiyamat with the likeness of the beauty of Prophet Yusuf (a.s.), and will be saved from the fear of Qiyamat.
Immam Muhammed Baqir (a.s.) says that a person who recites Surah Dukhan in Nafela prayers or obligatory (wajib) Namaz, will remain safe from the fear of Qiyamat.
Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) says that a person who recites Surah al Ahqaf on the day or night on Friday, will be safe from all the fears of this world as well as the hereafter.
In another tradition Immam Ja'far as -Sadiq (a.s.) says that a person who receites Surah al Asr in Nafela prayesrs, will arise in delight on the day of Qiyamat. His face will be glowing , and his eyes shining and he will enter Paradise in this cheerful state.
2) Immam Ja'far as-Sadiq who says that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said that whoever respects a man with a white beard, Allah will grant him refuge from the fear of the day of Qiyamat
3) The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) says, that whoever dies while going to Mecca or returning from there, will be saved by Allah from the fear of the day of Qiyamat. Shaikh Sadooq quotes the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) as saying that whoever dies in the countryard of the Ka'bah or Masjide Nawbawi (in Medina), will arise in a manner that he will be free from all terror and fear.
4) Shaik Sadooq quotes Immam Sadiq (a.s.) as saying that whoever is buried in the courtyard of the Ka'bah will be save from the fright of Qiyamat.
5) Shaikh Sadooq narrates from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) that He said, that if a person guards himself from sins or the lustful passions ( of his self), only for the sake and fear of Allah, Allah will make the fire of hell forbidden upon him and keep him away from the fear of Qiyamat.
6) The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) says that Allah will grant refuge from the fear of Qiyamat the man who keeps away from the passions of his self.
7) Shaikh Ali bin Ibraheem Qummi narrates from Immam Muhammed Baqir (a.s.) who said that whoever suppresses his anger even after having power (to retaliate), Allah will fill his heart with faith (Iman) and save him from the terror of Qiyamat.
8) One of the reasons for a person to be free from the fear of Qiyamat is the Love of Ahulul Bait (a.s.). The verdict of the Quran regarding it is that is the best deed. As said in the Holy Quran :
"Surely as for those for whom the good (Husna) has already gone forth from Us, they shall be kept far off from it. They will not hear its faintest sound, and they shall abide in that which their souls long for. The great fearful event shall not grieve them and the Angels shall meet them. (surah Anbiyah : 101-3)
9) Immam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) says that if a person helps a beliver brother (mo'min) and free from anxiety, and fulfils his desires, Allah will offer him seventy two types of favours (ne'mat). One of them is that He will increase his sustenance (Rizq) in this world, and seventy-one are that He will guard him against the terrors and hardships of Qiyamat. As Immam Muhammed al Baqir (a.s.) says that:
"If a mo'min goes to fulfill the desires of his brother believer, Allah orders the angels to give shade of seventy thousand veils over his head, and before he steps out (to go for help) Allah writes down many virtues in he deed-sheet. (Na'mae- Amal) "
Immam Ja'far as-Sadiq (a.s.) says that:
"Fulfilling a brother believer's wishes is greater than the performance of Haj, Haj, Haj, ( and repeated it 10 times) . It means that it is greater than the performance of ten Haj)
Also to caress with affection the head of an orphan 2) to show kindness towards widows. 3) To go to fulfill the wishes of a believer brother 4) To take care of the poor and the needy.
10) Shaikh Kulaini narrates from Immam Ali-ar-Reza (a.s.) that whoever goes to the grave of believenr brother, places his hand on it and recites Surah-al-Qadr seven times, Allah will keep him away from the troubles of Qiyamat. In another tradition it is narrated that while reciting Surah-al-Qadr on the grave, one should turn towards the Qibla and dig one's fingers in the mud (of the grave). And should also recite the following dua:
"Allahumma jaa fil arz"a a'n janoobehim wa s'aa'ed ilaika arwaah'ahum wa zidhum minka riz"waanan wa askin ilailhim min rah'mateka maa tas'elo behi wah'dathum wa toonis wah'shatahum innaka alla kulle shayyin qadeer.
E A T I N G A N D D R I N K I N G -I SLAMIC GUIDELINES | for everyone |
Eating and drinking are the basic necessities of life. Islam does in now way forbid the partaking of good and tasty food and drinking of healthy and pleasant beverages. The Quran says :
