“I only convey my complaints and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah what you all do not know. Yacub (Jacob) was a Prophet from whom Allah caused one of his sons to be separated. He had twelve sons, and he knew that his son was still alive, yet he wept over him till he lost his eye sight. If you look at my father, my brothers, my uncles, and my friends, how they lay slain all around me, tell me how can my grief ever end?
Whenever I remember how Fatima ’s children were slaughtered, I cannot help crying. And whenever I look at my aunts and sisters, I remember how they are fleeing from one tent to another…”
(The Fourth Imam Ali ibn Husain al-Zain al Abedin (a.s.)
“There are two groups of my Ummah that when they are pious, my Ummah will be upright and they are immoral my Ummah will be corrupt.” The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.s.) was asked who they are, and he answered: “The religious scholars and rulers
(The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.))
“The worst servants of Allah are those who are two-faced and two-tongued; they praise their present friends and backbite the absent; they envy them for obtaining graces and disappoint them when they suffer a misfortune.”
(The Eleventh Imam Hasan ibn Ali al-Askari (a.s.))
“They did to al-Hussain (a.s.) what no others nation had ever done to their most evil one: killing with the sword or the spear, with stone throwing, and with horse trampling.
Some of these horses reached Egypt where their shoes were pulled out and fixed on doors of means of seeking blessings. This became a custom among them, so much so that many of them started making the like of those shoes and hanging them over the doors of their houses. (may Allah (s.t.) laanat continue to be always on such group of people)

A BEAUTIFUL GIFT | for everyone |
A BEAUTIFUL GIFT!
A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. On the morning f his graduation his father called him to his private study.
His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious but somewhat disappointed the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather bound HOLY QURAN. Angrily, he raised his voice at his father and said, “With all your money you give a Holy Book.
He never contacted his father again for long time. Many years passed on and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day.
Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.
When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search his father’s important papers and saw the new Holy Quran, just as he had left it years ago.
With tears, he opened the Holy Quran and began to turn the pages, and in doing so, a car key dropped from an envelope taped behind the cover of the Holy Quran. It had a tag with dealer’s name the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL.
HOW MANY TIMES DO WE MISS ALLAH (S.T)’s BLESSINGS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PACKAGED AS WE EXPECTED?—ultimately we deprive ourselves from His Grace and end as losers. We must never forget to thank Allah (s.t) for all the Grace he bestows upon us whether it comes in small portion or in abundance.

STRONGER THAN………… | for everyone |
STRONGER THAN…………………
Once the Second Imam Hasan ibn Ali (a.s.) was asked” “What are 10 strong things that are stronger than other?”
The Imam (a.s.) replied:
“Among the strong things is Stone;
Even stronger is Iron which is used to break Stone:
Even stronger is Fire which melts Iron
Even stronger is Water which extinguishes Fire
Even stronger are Clouds that carry Water with them
Even stronger is Air which floats the Clouds with it
Even stronger is the Angel who moves the Air
Even stronger is the Angel who will give Death to the Angel who moves the Air
Even stronger is the Death which will come upon the Angel of Death
And Even stronger is the

HOL QURAN FOUND DESECRATED OUTSIDE IECOC
On January 1st, 2010, a torched and mutilated Quran was found at the back entrance of the Islamic Educational Center ofOrange County (IECOC) during the Friday (Jumah) Prayer.
The Holy Quran was found lying open, burned, and torn in the back parking lot at the IECOC by a member coming for Friday Prayers.
This deplorable incident is a form of anti-Islamic assault, hate-crime, and terror campaign against American Muslims. Even more, it is a great offence against 1.2 billion Muslim followers worldwide because it defiles their holiest and most sacred divine book.
The IECOC calls upon conscious minded people, including all faiths, to condemn this despicable act and to raise the banner of tolerance and peaceful coexistence amongst all American citizens.
Currently, the Costa Mesa Police Department (in California) is conducting their investigation. Still, we call upon concerned citizens to take an active role by showing their concern and to demand local and state officials to conduct a quick investigation and to bring the evil perpetrators to justice of this shameful and terrorizing act.
Unfortunately, this is not the first religious attack at IECOC. Another incident occurred in which the mosque was vandalized and several threatening anti-Islamism letters have been received in recent months.
In order to get our voices heard into the highest offices in our nation, we also urge you to sign (using your email address) thiscondemnation statement and to make peaceful calls of concern to the following offices listed below.

“If the world is taken to be a superb and decent house, then the house of Allah’s reward is more superior and more sublime. And if the bodies have been created for death, then being slain with a sword on the way of Allah would be better. And if the sustenance has been distributed according to the devine destinies, then the lesser greed of man for drawing sustenance is more beautiful. And if wealth is collected and gathered for being left over (passing away without carrying the wealth along to the next world), why does then the free man becomes stingy and miser about the things to be left behind?”
-Immam Husain ibn Ali (a.s.)
“Say: If your fathers and your sons and your brethren and your mates and your kinsfolk and property, which you acquired, and the slackness of trade which you fear and dwellings which you like, are dearer to you than Allah and His Apostle and striving in His way, then wait till Allah brings about His command; and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.”
“Say: I do not control for myslef any harm, nor any benefit, except whatever Allah pleases; every nation has a term; when their term comes, they shall not remain behind for an hour, nor can they go before (their time).”
-The Holy Quran (9:24 )
“Be tough and strict with the cruel so that you may take the right of the opressed from him.”
(Immam Musa ibn Ja’far al-Khadim a.s.)
IMPORTANCE OF SALAWAT | for everyone |
YOU ARE PRICELESS | for everyone |
YOU ARE PRICELESS
A well- known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 note. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 note?” Hands started going up.
He said. “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple up the $20 note. He asked, “Who still wants it? Still hands were up in the air.
“Well, what if I do this? He dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now cumpled and dirty and asked, “Who still wants it?” Still hands went up into the air.
My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what was done to the money, it was still wanted by all because it did not decrease in value. It was till worth $20.
Many times in our live, we are dropped crumpled and ground in to the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless.
But no matter what has happened or will happen, you will never loose your value: dirty or clean crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who love you.

KINDNESS TOWARDS MOTHERS | for everyone |
FEW HADEES | for everyone |
FEW HADEES
“Undoubtedly the friend of Mohammed (s.a.w.s.) is the one who obeys Allah; even if he bears no blood ties with the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s). And the antagonist of Mohammed (s.a.w.s.) is the one who defies Allah even while he boasts of blood ties with the Prophet (s.a.w.s)
(Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.)
“O Allah; do not try me by letting me resort to other than You when being compelled, nor submit to other than You when being poor and not invoke other than You when being frightened lest I will deserve, by that, Your humiliation and Your turning away from me”
The Fourth Imam Ali ibn Husain al-Zain al –Abideen (a.s.)
“My advice to you is to be conscious of Allah and steadfast in your religion. Do not yearn for the world, and do not be seduced. Do not resent anything you have missed in it. Proclaim the truth; work for the next world. Oppose the oppressors and support the oppressed.”
In a divine rule and an Islamic state it is an obligation of Muslims not to make any (collective) move before they select for themselves a chaste and knowledgeable leader who is pious abstinent and well versed in administration of justice, who may collect from them tribute taxes, and charities, and take care of their hajj and (prayers in) congregation.”
Six things benefit a man after his death; a pious son who ask for forgiveness on his behalf, a copy of the Holy Quran he read from, a tree h planted, a glass of water he quenched other’s thirst, a well dug, and a good tradition or habit he left behind to those around him.
Do not be hasty and do not precipitate your decisions and actions, when the time comes for an action to be done, or a decision to be taken, then do not be lazy and do not waste time and do not show weakness,
Men of property will die even though they live for a long time but learned men remain as long as there is a life on the earth. Their bodies turn to dust but their images are placed in the hearts for ever.
GRANDFATHER’S TABLE | for everyone |
GRANDFATHER’S TABLE
A frail old man went to live with his son daughter-in-law and four year old grandson. The old man’s hands trembled his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather’s shaky hands and failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter –in-law became irritated with the mess. “We must do something about father” said the son. “I ‘have had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.” So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner. Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. When the family glanced in Grandfather’s direction, sometimes he had tears in his eye as he sat alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his on playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, “What are you making?” Just as sweetly the boy responded “Oh I am making little bowl for you and mama to eat your food in when I grow up” The four year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their checks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather’s hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family on the same table as everyone and in glass plate even though he continued to drop the beans, spill the milk, dirtied the table cloth and food strewn on the floor. And both husband and daughter-in-law did not mind at all.
Children are remarkably perceptive. Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb. If they see us patiently provide a happy home atmosphere for family members they will imitate the attitude for the rest of their lives; the wise parent realizes that every day the building blocks are being laid for the child’s future. LET US BE WISE BUILDERS AND ROLE MODELS
THE 90:10 PRINCIPLE | for everyone |
THE 90:10 PRINCIPLE
10% of life is made up of what ‘happens’ to you,
90% of life is decided how you ‘react’
WHAT DOES IT MEAN
We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down, or the plane from being delayed, or a driver who may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%.
The other 90% is different. You – yourself determine the other 90%.
THE BIG QUESTION HOW?????
Simply by your ‘reaction,’ which is under your control?
AN EXAMPLE
As you are having breakfast with your family, your daughter knocks over a cup of tea onto your shirt. You have no control over what has just happened. What happens next however will be determined by how you react.
You shout and harshly scold your daughter. She breaks down in tears. You then turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm to your room to change your shirt. When you are ready you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and she misses the bus. You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late you drive recklessly. You finally arrive at the school and your daughter runs into the school building without saying goodbye.
After arriving the office 20 minutes late, you realize that you forgot your briefcase.
Your day has begun terribly. As it continues, it seems to get worse and you look forward to coming home. When you arrive home you find a small wedge in your relationship with your spouse your daughter.
How you reacted in those 5 seconds in the morning is what caused it.
Here is what could have and should have happened. Tea splashes over you... Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, “its fine, you should be more careful next time.” Grabbing a towel you proceed to get a new shirt and your briefcase. As you are ready, you look through the window and see your child happily getting on the bus and has told you goodbye dad before leaving the house. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early with your briefcase along and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on the good day you are having.
NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE
Two different scenarios. Both with the same start. Both ended different|
The Big Question WHY? Because of how you REACTED. You really did not have any control over the 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.
HOW TO APPLY THE 90/10 PRINCIPLE
If someone says something negative about you don’t be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don’t have to let the negative comment affect you| React wisely and it will not ruin your day.
A WRONG REACTION COULD RESULT IN CONSEQUENCES FOR WORSE AND REGRETTABLE THAN THE INITIAL OCCURRENCE. It becomes a chain-reaction.
FIGHTING SELFISH DESIRES TO ATTAIN PERFECTION | for everyone |
FIGHTING SELFISH DESIRES TO ATTAIN PERFECTION
One must first recognize and abandon all his selfish desires before he can attain human perfection.
This has been quoted by Majashe on the authority of the Nobel Prophet of Islam (s.a.w.a.s.) who was the first perfect man ever. It is recorded in ‘Ghaw’li al-La’li’ that a man called Majashe went to see the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) asked him the following questions, and got the following replies:
- “O Prophet of Allah| What is the way to recognition of Allah?”
- “Recognition of the self.”
- “What is the way to agree with Allah?”
- “To disagree with the self.”
- “What is the way to please Allah?”
- “To raise the wrath of the self.”
- “What is the way to approach Allah?”
- “To abandon the desires of the self.”
- “What is the way to obey Allah?”
- “To disobey the wants of the self.”
- “What is the way to remember Allah?”
- “To fight the self”.
- “What is the way to get closer to Allah”?
- “To stray away from the self”
- “What is the way to get accustomed to Allah/”
- “To fear the self”
- “What is the way to attain all this?
- “Seeking Allah’s help against one’s self”
(wasa’il Shi’ah v2 p2770)
If one practices what the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) has instructed us to do in this tradition, then he can attain true mysticism. One can only attain inner peace and illumination if he abandons wicked traits and adorns himself with perfection. He should first abandon all his wickedness, and then he should adorn himself with perfections.
Finally one should polish the beauties of his self refine them and make them transparent
