(WASHINGTON DC - February 22, 2013) For the month of February, the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area Transit Authority has been, and will continue to display "Who Is Hussain?" advertisements on transit buses around the city and in Maryland. The local campaign was organized by members of the Idara e Jaferia and the UMAA organization. IIC was not involved in raising the funds, but commends both the community of Idara e Jaferia and UMAA for engaging in this worthwhile activity.
According to organizers of the Who is Hussain initiative:
Who is Hussain is an initiative devised by a group of young Londoners from different walks of life, from diverse backgrounds and a wide array of professions, all brought together by the admiration of the magnificent personality of Hussain and the universal principles Hussain stood for.
Our mission statement is: Who is Hussain serves to inspire society through sharing the unique personality of Hussain.
The Who is Hussain team formed in 2012 without any capital or resources, but through sharing the same vision and having a passion to inspire the world through Hussain, the campaign took shape. Who is
Hussain has no monetary, political or religious aspirations, with the hope that you read and learn about this great man, his final stand and take something from it.
The founders have chosen to remain anonymous as the campaign is not for fame or publicity, in their own words “Ultimately it is not about us, it is about Hussain.”
